I haven’t tried KOF:XI or NGBC on HDL 0.7 or 08b yet.I lost my 08b disc so I never got to try either game on it(I am also to lazy to make another one.It took me a long ass time to make that 08b disc).
I am using HDA 2.0 right now.
I heard that KOF:XI is supposed to work for HDL 0.7.Still not sure about NGBC though.
huh? i dont use HDAdvanced and the NBC compability was already answered by me and biolink.
i have NBC on my hd for archiving purposes, if my disk gets too scratched up i can just get the image off my hd and burn another one.
Anyone know how to make 3rd strike boot up properly everytime? Most of the time 2nd player doesn’t respond and I have to reboot the system until it works.
like i said earlier its kinda tricky you gotta exit the game and go back a few times, yesterday we went straight into 3rd strike with p1 unplugged then i plugged in the stick and versus popped up no problem, see if that works.
I use an old as hell hard drive (it’s only 10GB!) and I don’t get that glitch much at all nowadays compared to when I used a 300GB monster of an HD. The older HD also gave me BGM to CvS2 whereas with the newer one, all I could hear were the sound effects. If you have an old junky HD with a slower read speed around, try it out and see if it might help you.
I just tested 3rd strike in the Anniversary Collection 5 times in a row and no glitch at all those 5 times. And like Button_m4sh said, no need to reboot the system. Just exit the game back to the game selection screen and choose 3rd Strike again and repeat as necessary.
Not entirely sure if the swap magic runs on HDAdvance, but you can always try connecting your PS2’s HD to your computer and using winhiip to install the image and see if that works.
If it doesn’t, you need to do the memory card exploit. Make sure your PS2 can read CD-based media (a lot of PS2s I’ve seen have DRE problems). A thumbdrive also helps a lot in my opinion. There’s many ways to do it, but I find that creating an exploit disc image (I suggest looking up “PS2 Exploit Utility 5.0 Working” on Google) and installing it to your HD using winhiip is the easiest way. Just use uLaunchELF to boot up elf files of the swap magic put in your memory card (either by putting them in the disc image you created beforehand or by using uLaunchELF to copy it from a USB drive connected to the PS2) and you’re good to go.
I wonder if I buy a newer HD Advance, which version should I get? I know version 3 is out but there are memory card based solutions which update all the time. I have a Japanese non moded PS2 (bigger model but no firewire) and a NTSC North American swapable v4. Is there any disc based non/mod solutions I can use for my Japanese PS2 to load memory card files or I can use my swapable PS2 to write to the memory card so it can read from the Japanese PS2?
I mainly want to retire my US PS2 so I can use the HD Advance on my Japanese PS2 while play my regular US PS2 games on my PS3. I already have HD Advance on my PS2 but it is the cd version.
or you can buy or borrow a copy of AR-max or gameshark with usb support and transfer the exploit to your MC. I can create this file or provide links for you, just PM me.
the above method is cheaper if you cant borrow a version of armax or gameshark.
From the feature description it looks like it’s the same thing as 0.8b with the GoW2 patch. Plus some extra utilities like HDL Dump for network-based transfers.
If anyone is new to this, all I have to say is you shouldn’t pay for HDL/HDA or any other ones. You can get unofficial versions that fix compatibility. The current version I use is HDL 0.8c.
The website tells you if the game works or not and if it works if you patch it or use certain modes on it.
EDIT:
CvS2 works for me without sound IIRC
MvC2 works perfectly
SFAC works perfectly
SFIII: 3s (JP) works fine but I don’t think the second controller port works.
SvC Chaos works perfectly
KoF XI works for me and I haven’t had any trouble with it
GGX works perfectly
GGXXS works perfectly
GGXXAC works perfectly
