My brother and I have played for a solid 3 hours now, including occasional trips in and out of Training Mode. There hasn’t been any trouble so far and I’m sure it’ll stay this way. I only enabled “KILL HDA AT LAUNCH”
You mean mode 3 right?
Just finished transferring KOF '98UM to my HDD and when I booted it up it was all good, however it freezes when I want to go back to the character select screen in Training Mode. I gotta try some different things before I can conclude it’s not compatible.
EDIT: So far it’s wonderful game freezes randomly like NGBC.
If it’s the third option, “MODE 3” refers to it’s KILL HDA AT LAUNCH.

I’ve been doing some testing and the game freezes randomly within 2~5 minutes when I switch characters in Training Mode. Ironically this game even supports 480p, it could’ve been perfect now it’s meh ;___;
Got SBX working I just directly connected the HDD directly via IDE instead of using the USB converter to trasfer the game with WinHiip.
KoF 98U does indeed freeze randomly. However I read that it works with Toxic OS 0.41.

You got it all wrong. The game works perfectly if you insert the disc into the PS2 , however it doesn’t work when it’s booted from a HDD.
Anyone know how to shrink PS2 games?
From my experience if enabling that option does not work, nothing will.
Just buy a bigger hard drive. Your allowed around 200GBs for HDAdvanced, thats plenty enough.
My old samsung 80GB i was using died on me recently. A Seagate 160GB drive to replace it, only cost me about $42 at newegg.com, and works great in my PS2.
Sengoku Basura X works perfectly fine in HDAdvanced.
KOF 98 UM however does not.
