He didn’t cancel the recovery. The Sumo Splash’s grounded recovery is deceptively fast, almost as fast as Ken’s Jab Shoryuken recovery. Also, grounded recovery can never be cancelled. Here is the data from Akiba:
I honestly think Wolfe’s Rog would’ve raped Eath. Still hella surprising after all this time that Eath mowed through them. Loved S-Kill’s commentary on it too.
i’m somewhat unsure why wolfe didn’t use balrog. but from (what i heard), paul was ready to use zangief or deejay (you see him scroll to gief actually as well). they played prior to the tournament, when everyone was allowed to try things out etc for a few hrs. i think paul lost all his matches vs everyone during that time, but he mentioned that after playing the people he did, he knew the skill gap +/- and who to be worried about. plus with the rules, and the fact that nobody recognized him, he felt there was “a chance” that he could surprise people. plus nothing to lose really
I guess most have seen it, but it is always nice to remember that great video. Komoda is a true master.
As for linking y2b videos with a starting time, append “&#t=XmYYs” at the end of the video, where X is minutes and YY is seconds. For your example, it would be “&#t=1m05s”.
A few friendly matches on PSN. The video quality isn’t the greatest but what can I say? When the choice is either watching Dancing with the Stars with the woman or playing HDR on the analog TV, then there really isn’t much of a choice.
Players included in the videos are: EST1991, blueblood, Pasky, Rashid O, saintjayes, freeway 230, Pacquaio8x, and me. I might be missing names–if so, apologies.
