I noticed a player doing that a few nights ago. When s/he got close to being knocked out, jab spam hilarity ensued. My experience with SFIV would most likely produce this in me as well, but since I play Blanka, at least I have a reason for (focused) mashing.
That’s right, because link combos make SF4 “hardcore” and a “serious” fighter. LOL. OK, I’m done bashing.

Sure, that was a lot of jabs. But let me ask you this - did any of them lead to an ultra? No. And that’s why SF2 will never be as hype as SF4. You see, mashing jab should be the best way to land your biggest combos. That is where SF4 excels!

Recorded some online play from the other night. Pretty good variety of opponents, but the connection didn’t get better til much later on. Good games to synco, Aqua Snake, bhop, evoanon and anyone else.

Sweet. I was actually trying to find some more videos of myself out there. I did so horribly with the safe jump hit confirm c.Forward Lariat a few times and also wasn’t landing my standing SPD’s either. The game didn’t look THAT laggy to me if i recall :O.
There was a 2 day gaming event in Oslo Norway that had a 32 man HD remix bracket. There were no seeding so a lot of the best faced each other in the early stages I wish there were some videoes of them.
So the final kinda got a bit lobsided with an HD remix player facing off against a good allround SF4 ish player. I get to demonstrate that you’re screwed unless you can reversal srk under pressure …lol

He had no clue, and possibly was having issues with his controller. I suppose the many jumping shorts he took while crouching were SRK attempts. Also, he was probably not aware that the fierce one does significantly more damage.
well the seeding i suppose or the lack of one i guess. I couldt follow the entire tournament … i had to keep up with my own matches. But like i said the hdr regulars met eachother in the starting round of the tournament , and i took them out on my side of the bracket …lol. The level of competition could naturally be questioned.
This kind of thing can happen with a bracket even with 32 people in it. (it was a single elimination tournament)
Well, whatever it was, you did your job, man. I just want to point out that commenting on a single match, even if it was the final, does not necessarily detract from the performance of the tournament champion. Having to deal with most regulars actually adds value to your victory, and I congratulate you.
I’m also no top player, in fact I am having very serious issues with my game and those jumping shorts connecting remind me of problems I have. But that is OT here, I will ask for help when I have time.
