On the other hand, Rachel McAdams’ character seems to be a true freak who is searching for a proper outlet. It looked as if she was dissatisfied with her guy-friend’s passiveness, especially when he was apologizing for attempting what sounded like anal. Not to mention her fascination with porn and going undercover.
My guess is that her hippie “free love” family (father notably) exposed her to a lot of communal sex and nudity growing up. She developed a gruff exterior to not end up like her siblings, but I feel she actually enjoyed being “freaky.”

The most interesting ‘Paul’ thing is something he said during the fight with his gf:

I kinda figure Ani was abused at the commune following her and Velcoro’s gender talk. She even cuts him off when he asked something like, “You needed to look out for yourself, huh?” Guessing the other 4 kids that were there with Ani were too, possibly pay one or both of them a visit in jail down the line. I picked up on Paul’s “who am I supposed to be” question too. That scene had some good dialogue, which isn’t very common in this show so far (aside from Velcoro’s outbursts and remarks about e-cigs). Most the dialogue so far has been really cryptic and vague.

Not that they dont want to per say but all of their superiors are pushing them to weed out the Vinci corruption. This murder is just the excuse to do so for them. As Velcoro said, “Do you want me to actually solve this or not.” His mission is to throw them off. And in the end of ep2 Ani asked him how compromised he actually is. They all running game on eachother. But im guessing Velcoro will WANT to solve it now seeing as the person who shot him killed Caspere.

i dunno…i do like the la setting more than the bayou. this story seems to be moving along a little quicker than s1 did as well. s1 did have what could possibly be the best scene in television history though (alexandra daddario’s boobs) so it has that going for it.
