I don’t know why reviewers seem so quick to shit on this season in comparison to the first. Yeah, this season is a noir instead of a pseudo-occult thriller, but it isn’t in any way actually worse, and in a couple of aspects might actually be a bit better so far.
And I say that as someone who really liked the first season. It’s like the show is getting punished for not being just more of the same.

VV is the only actor in the show that isn’t really doing it for me. He just looks too much like himself where he’s the dang-I-wanna-hang-out-with-that-dude dude. That really worked when he came up to the bookie after his ginger and other muscle worked him over, but it’s been distracting at other points. He’s been really hit and miss with me, some scenes are great and others I don’t like. Idk…

Closeted can just mean closed off, hiding feelings, etc. Which is absolutely the case thus far: he doesn’t tell his girl friend shit (actively shuts down conversations) about Black Mountain (the company he worked for ‘in the desert’) or his scars (some of which came before ‘the desert’). Though clearly something is up with his sexuality (like every main character in this freaky ass show lol) and homosexuality is up there as a theory.
His fucked up “Ma” had him doing something before he dipped out of the park.

I think my theory about “blood” aka family this season might be correct. All we are seeing are people with issues and trauma caused by relatives.
