Hmmm… What sequence of button presses do you use to cancel MP into HP hands using slide (not piano)? Starting from MP I don’t see how the 5th button can be HP sliding the whole time…
@ShinMagus:
This is my sequence:
MP>LP>LP>MP>HP
You need to pass through the LP, and then come back LP again.
Hm… I’m really, really tempted to preorder these and delay my custom.
Preordered some. Very excited, i hope there will be option to get replacement switches soon, as i want to test them all.
Just finished writing up a review of these for the front page.
Let me just say that these are very much worth it.
In my opinion, one of the nicest things about these using Cherry MX switches is that we have the option of using switches from outside sources. i.e. One of my buddies, who works for a company that makes pen springs (also other springs but that’s his department), knows how to pop open Cherry MX switch and change the operating force. I had him change the springs in a set of Blacks to 70grams, these puppys are so ready for my preorder to arrive.
Tee hee.
That is actually quite cool, mind.
Ah… I see what you did there ;D
I can do the popping open part too (you can use toothpicks), but I don’t have a bunch of categorized springs in 1g increments like he does.
Does anyone know the diameter of the 4 holes in the bottom of the buttons?
Any more info on the case, other than a picture and a broken link?
I gave into temptation and bought 6 for my custom. Curse you and your well designed buttons.
Do you guys have a recommended method (and/or compatible parts list) for installing LEDs?

Do you guys have a recommended method (and/or compatible parts list) for installing LEDs?
That would be a great idea, issue is different buttons accept different LED kits and set ups.
From what I can recall
The Toodles KN inserts are meant for for 30mm Seimitsu push buttons but they also work for clear sanwas.
Pararadise arcade shops’ Pele LED board work on anything that screw in, the 30mm version works for Seimitsu as well as Happ/IL buttons
and the 24mm version works for screw in seimitsu buttons.
Plain 3mm LEDs works for just about anything if you know how to mod for them. You can get away with 5mm LEDs with App and IL buttons.
Same from SMD type LEDs and some custom hand cut pref boards (as you are making the board fit your buttons.
As for the HBFS-30s you need to take the custom hand cut pref board and SMD LED route, 3mm LEDs could work
Timmy Nguyen has done a pretty LED works with HBFS-30.
I should ask him for his approach.

Just put my pre-order in. My wife will be happier once they get here!

Nice! Would you recommend buttons with the cherry mx red microswitches, with Honda in mind, or one of the three others? I’m a bit skeptical because of the supposed lack of tactile feedback, but above all else I’d like to be the best I can be.
Sliding and (specially) pianoing a lot.
@ShinMagus:
I’m sorry I was not majoring in E.Honda, so could not give you a precise answer.
Indeed between different microswitch does not affects the reaction performance.
Only the feel of button touch are different, I think that does not affect Sliding and Pianoing.
All microswitches have good responded.
This can be configured based on one person’s preferences.
For example,
I am used to composite microswitches configuration.
LP & LK> Bluestem
MP & HP & HK>Redstem
MK>Brownstem
My Major is Abel, Clicking LP & LK can be clearly I think it’s important.
For your reference
Gosh, I want to get them.
I want to, but I really shouldn’t…
