I dont suppose you know if the 24mm will fit in the qanba q3? Looks like a tight fit
Review is up.
Okay, I’m going to give these a shot. Went with black switches.

The least sensitive of them all? o.o
Black switches are just as precise as any other MX switch or Japanese Push Button they just require more force to push down on, slightly stiffer than Seimitsu buttons, but they are reasonably silent.
Blues are the loudest with an audible click when you completed the circuit. Reds are less resistant than Sanwas.
Cherry MX switches compared to traditional arcade push buttons do not need to be pressed down fully to complete the circuit. Even with MX Black or red switches you don’t need a full press.
What I would really love to see is a screw-in variant to the HBFS30 buttons for mounting in panels that Snap-ins are ill suited for.
The way Sanwa and Seimitsu have Screw-ins. They could even use the same threading for the nut.
1,2 red 3,4,5 black would be a combo I would try for Tekken.
I want a linear feel but don’t want them overly sensitive. I don’t want any tactile feedback from a fighting stick button.

Here is a link to a guide that covers all the MX Cherry Microswitches.
http://www.overclock.net/t/491752/mechanical-keyboard-guide#post_6009482
The availability parts of the guide are out of date. Reds and Clears are not hard to find any more.
I have both a keyboard with Red Cherry MX switches and a keyboard with Black MX Switches. If you do not want tactile feedback get Red or black.
nothing in between a red and black available from this store?
there’s nothing from Cherry that is between the two and also smooth. It’s pretty simple to swap the springs though, so you could have a 55g spring in a black or a red if you swapped the spring from a blue.
Red and Black switches? Let see.
Cherry MX Black 60g, Linear
Cherry MX Red 45g, Linear
Cherry MX Brown, 45g (55g peak force), soft tactile
Cherry MX Blue 50g, Clicky, Tactile
So back to your question, these are the 4 most common MX Cherry Switches.
What is not mention but recently became slightly more common recently are the MX Clear switches which are a stiffer version of the Browns.
There are other switches but nothing that is in between 45 to 60 grams operational range that are linear (non-tactile)
All the switches not mentioned above are tactile and clicky and have very heavy resistance.
There are some non standard switches that are left out, they are very rare and some are completely unsuitable for the HBFS30
Like the MX Cherry Orange which lacks the normal MX switch mounts (will not fit), the MX Lock which are a On/Off switch instead of a momentary switch, Super Blacks with a very stiff 150 gram to operate (only used for the spacebar on some keyboards)
So in short, No there nothing in between Reds and Blacks as that switch do not exist on the market.
You can try to hit up GeekHack and look up guides to modify switched, but you be alone in this endeavor.
Oh snaps! I just placed my order. 8 clear 30mm. 2 in each micro-switch. I still have more switches from the original fundraiser and haven’t yet decided which I like the most. And I figured “why not” and got 2 white 24mm for the start and back/select buttons. My V.S. is going to be AWESOME!!! I will dub it the “Madcatz Fightstick Versus hbf-SH” edition.
