Hats Off To Ya!- The Peacock Combo Thread

VERY cool stuff. Can you please explain to me how to land the final “j.hp, adc, j.mk, land, qcf+pp” on the general combo? I can get everything in the combo up to that point, but I cannot for the life of me get the j.hp, adc, j.mk to land as a continuous combo.

It’s a very quick succession. You can kind of hear how fast it’s done, in the video. Tap dash as soon as j.hp connects and j.mk, right after that. Almost p-link speed.

Edit: Yeah, the tap-tap-tap-tatap-sticktap. The tatap is the adc j.mk. On the general combo, it would look like tap-tap—tap-tatap-sticktap.

Hello guys, I’ve recently taught myself an extended version of our mid-screen BnB, But my tv is a 12 inch portable and thus i cant see if it’s doing more damage, can someone please help me on this by checking it out themselves?
The combo is:
st.LP, st.MP, st.MK, jc, j.LP, j.LK (1 hit), j.MP, ADC, j.LP, j.MP,(land), c.LP, c.HP, c. HK, HP item drop (bounces them back to you) LP, MP, HP (both hits), Garbage day (3 hits), Argus Agony

I’m not sure if it’s doing more damage and if it works on all characters, I know thats its 100% certain to work on parasoul but i havent trie it on anyone else, Also its probably i can make it do much more damage be removing one or two of the light hits in the string

thanks in advance!

Thanks again. I’ve got the timing pretty consistently now. On the Bella/Double combo, the (launch, j.hp, adc, (delayed) j.lk) part does not seem to be connecting for me. Those two characters are too heavy and drop too low for the j.lk to connect as a combo. Am I doing that wrong, as well?

You’re probably doing the j.hp too late. It’s definitely doable, but the timing is tighter.

Edit: Also, an easier Double variant.
st.lp, st.mp, st.hk, qcb+hp, run in st.lp, st.mk, j.hk, adc, j.lp, j.hk, land, j.lk(3), j.hp, adc, j.mk, land, qcf+pp.

Does anyone else find, or can explain why, sometimes characters will bounce away from Peacock after doing …s.HK xx qcb HP? I can’t tell if the item drop is mistimed or if my spacing is off or if it is just random. Any info would be appreciated.

You can tech out in the cr. HK > HP Item drop portion, I’m assuming you couldn’t see the blue tech circle underneath your opponent since your TV is miniscule.

ah blast, perhaps i can replace c.HK with HK? Oh wait no they can tech the bounce caused by the item drop too, damn, i thought i was being helpful XD
And if i look really closely i can just about see it
I really need a new TV

Also, is it possible to get the dummy to auto-tech? i would rather have that

Not at the moment sadly, Mike said training mode upgrades were a high priority on the patching list though.

Ah okay, To be honest I’m not complaining, the game only cost 10 quid, Really pleased with this as a purchase

Anyway, I’ve got the standard midscreen BnB down, Is there any slightly more advanced versions of it?

I haven’t really tried to get anything else, but since the combo doesn’t use an OTG, you could always just add an assist to extend it. Something like (restand) st. LP, st. MP, Hornet Bomber, teleport, st. LK, st. MP, st. HP, qcf+HP (3 hits) qcf+PP. This is all just theory, but I’m assuming it would work. To be honest, Peacock isn’t about combos so I haven’t tried learning anything higher damaging.

Fair enough, I’ll stick to getting the standard one to work for me 100% (oh the joys of having hands which dont work properly XD) and then use it when the need arises. I already have zoning down pretty good. Just a shame I’m incapable of playing on ranked, something to do with my router being dodgy :L

I wish I knew. Happens like 5% of the time and is a little annoying. I was just testing it out and it was only happening on the bottle, but all of the hit boxes should be the same, so I don’t know.

That’s it working on Cerebella. The timing is just more strict than on lighter characters. Working on a better alternative.

Don’t mistake the AI being really terrible against Peacock’s zoning as your zoning being GDLK, I did the same thing. You definately should try find a way to play against others to get the fullest experience of the game, or any fighter in general. Until then, grind those BnBs.

Oh no, nonono. I dont mean it like that, I play against other human beings, Just not online. I go to a weekly thing that has skullgirls on its lineup now. I tend to do really well

Well, you’re one of the lucky ones.
EDIT: Probably shouldn’t be knocking on a thread I made, everyone’s gotta know combos, even Dhalsim players.

well the combo i was using at the time was LP,MP,HP,Garbage dayx3, Argus. Which actually only does a little bit less than the standard BnB
self lucky, I’m about 100 miles out of the way of this event i go to, I just happen to do a lot of work all week…except for the day this thing goes on XD
And agree, Those incredible 2 hit dhalsim Combo’s

I just find learning combos with zoners fun. Everytime you hit an Arthur combo or something the other guys always like “OH SHIT, HE ACTUALLY HAS COMBOS.” It’s great, can’t wait to hit a Peacock corner combo on someone.

This is actually my first time using a zoner in a conventional fighter and only second time overall (used ROB in brawl, yay for item projectile) So its an enlightening experience. But None of them have ever been so appealing, just because peacock has the sheer trolling factor of ending your day with a piano falling out of the sky, and one time i managed to get 2 ultra rare stearoller in one game during a tournament set, The guy was so very angry he threw his fightstick. I’m flailing about in disbelieving laughter of how fun it is
I’l learn the corner stuff eventually, it’s hardly likely that I’m going to get an opponent in the corner with peacock after all XD

It happens occasionally, normally it’s when I’m being pressured in the corner and just throw them into it. I also normally don’t enjoy zoners because it seems like such an up-hill battle normally, but obviously Peacock is otherwise. Filling the screen with all sorts of crap makes me happy. Especially when they get in only to meet the Swag Bag. “Whatta Sucker.” Receiving salt messages is what makes it all worth while, let’s you know you’ve done your job right. Surprising that you already caused the Gooteck’s treatment within a fortnight of release.
