Yeah, I can’t for the life of me figure out why someone would use a roundhouse tatsumaki from half screen against a crouching Zangief player.
Crouching Vega that does smart c.mps is still a bitch, Vega has always been good without the walldive shit, only that got weaker. His regular ground game is the same. Now it just doesnt mean he can get lucky wins after one knockdown (well maybe not lucky but you get it).
I dig the shotos, but it’s hella fun to branch out.
I got no hate, but I never dug how short shotos are in the entire Street Fighter II series lol.

I hate akuma for obvious reasons, but ryu and ken? not at all, and i barely use them. They, especially ryu, is very difficult to use at a high level. This thread should be retitled “Hatred for Honda, Akuma, Guile?”
As Fei I despise a HHS spamming Honda, and I curse on Akumas that do nothing but defensive air fireballs until they get their unblockable super to abuse. The rest is quite fine. Shotos are fun to play against. Except those laggers that jab DP all the time knowing that slowdown makes it invincible.

The only reason is because ken’s covers distance quickly and can actually start a throw loop at the moment he lands or dp. However, its better when there is a setup.
For all the haters sayin’ shotos are nuthin’ but scrub characters…I sure do win with 'em a lot (mainly Ken…I don’t care for Akuma or Ryu too much…I like Ken’s speed for rundowns).
Thing is, I’ve seen just as many “scrubs” using chargers as I have shotos. I’ve been spammed to death with Sonic Booms, or Blanka’s rolls, or Honda’s Headbutt, or Chun’s Lightning Legs.
I think it’s fairly ignorant to say that scrubs only use shotos, or that only scrubs use shotos. Most of the shotos are mid-tier at best, with the chargers dominating the top tier ranks.
So either shotos are too hard for you (your game sucks, not theirs), or they’re too easy for you, in which case you shouldn’t be complaining–you’re winning. Your ranked scores oughtta be friggin’ amazing!

lets keep it real here, majority of scrubs use ryu and especially ken. i still haven’t played one decent akuma yet.
yes theres scrub hondas, t hawks, blankas, vegas, etc, but ryu and especially ken makes up for the bulk of scrubs online and even offline.

I really don’t mind shotos if played right, but 85% of online shotos are scrubby as hell. And personally I almost never pick shotos cause I find them boring, BUT if the player is very bad then I pick his shoto and beat him in return 
. So yeah totally blame the players.

Walldive is ridiculous when the game is laggy. I see him jumping upwards, then see me getting nailed. No frames in between. Great stuff.
I don’t know about scrubs, but I’ve sen quite a few really mediocre Guiles on xbox live, mofuckas think sonic boom tick throw is inescapable or some shit. Still not nearly as many as the shoto scrubs but there are quite a few.
haha, naw, you’re one of the better ryu players out there. you can zone pretty well, better than most ryu players.
i ran into a respectable shoto player last night, dude knew his shit so I can’t say I hate em’ all.

I also used to only use Ryu and Ken a very long time ago, but then I moved on to other characters like Honda, Blanka, Chun Li, and Sagat.
Most of the time, when someone picks a shoto against me, I have a feeling that they are going to suck, but I’m happy if they actually turn out to know what they are doing. I don’t really have trouble with any shotos, especially when they repeat SRKs over and over and think that it will hit my Honda. It’s so satisfying to Ochio a ryu with negative edge 3 times in a row after he whiffs an attempted Daigo SRK :wgrin: I think the thing is that you play so many scrubby Ryus, Kens, and especially Akumas, that you start to associate shotos with sucky players.
To the Honda haters: a lot of normals counter Honda’s headbutt. Also, if you play a scrubby Honda, do cross ups! They will eat it if they use down-back to charge.
This brings up another question though: after playing a bunch of sucky players, do you think that it hurts your ST skill?
