I have absolutely no aptitude for fighting games, feels like i “don’t get” every one i pick up xd. That being said with enough practice i can get halfway decent. Only game I’ve tried to pick up and just been totally mindfucked by is marvel. Y u no slowdown?
MVC2 and Blaz Blue
I’ve never been able to get BF3 and Guild Wars since there was money issues. other than that, I’ve been lucky to get the games that have recently come out like The Witcher 2: Dark Edition
I’ve only ever played the older style vs games very casually. Had no idea of anything about strategy.
It’s not that different from other games I find. You haven’t played older style marvel games, but what about older games in general? I think the major thing I had to get used to was just the pressure that can be put on you by someone who knows what they’re doing, but I grinded that out after a few days.
Again, I’m trying to find something specific to address “how to move, and how to attack” doesn’t really tell me anything. how is moving in this game different from others that’ stopping you? Attacking I find is the same as any other game, press a button when you think you can land a hit. -> punish unsafe moves, attack “randomly” with safe stuff… do mixups. What do you feel is specifically different about attacking in this game?
Timing chains, I don’t think that’s really true. there are a couple of really slow normals where the active frames come out late. so if you cancel those attacks too early it doesn’t come out… Otherwise you can just mash them out like you do in marvel 3.
I love Marvel vs Capcom 2 and various Vs. games to death, but the execution and skill ceiling is so high that I simply cannot play it at a high level.
Including XvSF and Marvel Super Heroes.
I can do simple stuff like the Juggernaut’s and Sabretooth’s infinite in XvSF, or Ironman’s in Marvel 2, but I can’t pull anything advanced and get shut down easily by Blackheart, Sentinel, and Cable.
I believe I might not have dedicated myself enough though.
Maybe I’m just over exaggerating. I’m sure I’ll get the hang of it like I did with KoF with more practice.
