Has There Ever Been A Game You Just Couldn't "Get?"

Tekken. Almost every KOF. All of those funny anime type games that aren’t Blazeblue.

I get Mortal Kombat, I just don’t understand where the fun part is.

The number one game I ABSOLUTELY love, but can’t play is KOF.

The way the game is paced needs some getting used to, but I will not give up!!!

I had trouble understanding the concept of SF4 but finally got the hang of it. I still don’t like the game though.

Dead or Alive Beach Volley Ball, I knew something terribly wrong would happen if I got that game.

SamSho series baffles my fuckin brain.

Yeah didnt like shitty blazeblue

Even though I firmly believe I understand MvC conceptually, fucked if I could ever actually look like I did while playing it

Tekken series

yeah really, it was easy to be winning, but getting into it…nah, that bound and air combo crap is stupid

SSF4… safe pressure is against all I know and love. I play 3rd strike.

that game is mindless garbage that’s why

All of them. Every single fighting game out there.

mortal kombat in general. blocking and running with buttons is…dumb. and all the mk games are goofy as fuck.

Mortal Kombat. Though maybe it’s just how shitty the controls felt and how stiff everything was.

In retrospect SF4. I was garbage at that game so I dropped it.

I prefer aerial rave types of games i guess.

Contributing to this thread, I’d honestly have to say Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Before I begin, I’d like to say that I try to keep an open mind about trying different fighting games, and get out of my comfort zone, just to see what’s out there. Now, I’ve played ***Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom ****3 *enough times to know that I’m not getting anywhere with it. The thing about Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is the mechanics are confusing to me. While I do like some aspects of it, such as switching characters in a match and selecting your teams, and fight-sets, the mechanics alone is just baffling.

While I absolutely love Soul Calibur V, Street Fighter and Tekken, I honestly think that Street Fighter x Tekken is another one of those “Huh?!” games. It reminds me of Tekken Tag, without the benefit of individual power-bars per character *(I didn’t like that you had one power-bar for both players in your team) *and it feels too flat, since we’re dealing with two different fighting game styles. Tekken, much like Soul Calibur is a 3-D platform, where as Street Fighter has always been in 2-D. Don’t get me wrong, I love Tekken and Street Fighter, but the two of them don’t go so well together, in my opinion.

Skullgirls. I really really want to play this game, but I just can’t get into it. The gameplay system is simply just too much for me at the moment.

yea, all of them. I like to pretend I’m decent at street fighter, but that’s probably just delusion.

I just mash buttons in tekken and other 3d fighters and sometimes i win. When I think I’ve learned how to do a particular move in a 3D fighting game and try to specifically use that move, it never works. The less I know a character in those games the better I tend to do.

edit: “better” meaning i mash buttons and occasionally cool looking shit happens on screen.

Can you be a little more specific? I love that game and I’d certainly be willing to help anyone trying to learn that game.

Yeah.
I don’t “Get” how people are still playing SFxT.

It’s mainly just that style of gameplay. How to move, how to attack, actually having to time chains. I’ve never played any of the older style Marvel games so It’s all just so foreign to me.
