Halo Thread: Games, TV, Movies and Books

I’m not against the concept, just how he was presented.

I’m surprised Bungie let his design go forward as is for H2. Why?

I just thought his in game appearance was laughable, because it immediately made me think of this^ song an all.

Everyone makes this comparison. Maybe I don’t feel the same way because I never saw the movie.

That probably helps lol.

But the finale made up for it, world literally crumbling under your feet + count down clock.

I couldn’t have said it any better SF-Zero2 both about why gravemind made flood not threatening anymore and why h2 and 3 were lazily made, this is one of the few times I wish we still has the rep system, you would be the 5th ninja turtle.

Am I the only one who never liked how both players can melee kill each other at the same time?

So can someone who has the game talk about the weapons and compare them? thanks, I’ve never really understood why DMR was introduced when it’s so similar to BR.

DMR is meant to be the prototype of the BR. In Halo 3 the BR was by far the most popular weapon so in an effort to balance things and introduce new weapons they created a single shot rifle, which is more powerful the less you spam the trigger.

Both players only die if both their shields are depleted, otherwise one will survive, something to bare in mind when you rush people down.

BR in the old Halo 2 E3 showing was Single Shot. Funny heh.

Both the DMR and BR kill in five shots in H4.

So because of that I am running the DMR, less bullets to worry about(the BR is a triple shot burst so if one misses then that means I have to squeeze the trigger six times). They brought back the DMR bloom from Reach that everyone cried about and made Bungie nerf.

Got me a rigged 60 gig HD for my slim from a old 60 gig i copped from kmart for 20. Also had a 3 month card so ready for some MC goodness!

Some of these new armors look like they come out of the Kamen Rider universe or something (and I like this). Getting Deadeye with Bestbuy pre-order, and I’m pretty sure I’ll stick to that for a while (until Engineer, Rogue, or Pioneer are available). Hoping that this game lives up to the hype. I’ve been pretty worried due to hearing things like removing Elites from multiplayer (it was superfluous, but I liked the idea), killstreak style rewards, and able to shoot while carrying a flag, but I’ve still got hope for it to be new and potentially good, we’ll see.

Hoping the pistol is still good at close range
IN CE:AE, its a nice close to mid-range weapon.
The DMRS n stuff are harder to kill with at close range.
Multiplay is fun and thats all it will be.
Its not long until some1 finds a gimmick/glitch and everyone abuses it. siiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh

I don’t know, I haven’t seen many major glitches or gimmicks in Reach (aside from people using armor lock as a melee counter), nothing as big as super bouncing, B-X-R/B-X-B, or double/quad-shot BR bursts from Halo 2 days. Or the butterfly technique, sword glitches were fun when they first happened.

So are there still weapons on the maps or is it 100 percent ordinance drops now?

EDIT: So Im getting the impression its 100 percent ordinance drops and they’ve taken out dual wielding. Im not sure how I feel about these two changes, always loved dual wielding, and I liked the struggle over power weapons.

in the old 2004 Halo 2 E3 vid, the BR was a 3-shot unscoped and 1-shot scoped.

343i dusted that old idea off and used it to make the Light Rifle.

i can’t make it to any sort of midnight release tonight, so i’ll just have to wait until tomorrow to pick Halo 4 up.

weapons are on the map, but drops are important
If you were watching an MLG stream, they start with DMRs.

While I respect your opinion since you’ve actually played the game, this is a completely subjective manner, you might enjoy it more but I might not. With that said, after giving it a little thought I realize that power weapons were never as big of a deal to me in halo as in a game like gears so Im not too worried. And while ill miss dual wielding its not a deal breaker by any stretch of imagination. This is still the shooter at the top of my christmas list.

Im confused, so there are weapons on each map, but real meaty weapons are relegated to drops? And yes I was watching an MLG match where he started with the DMR and got a sniper rifle(amongst other weapons) in drops.

EDIT: Did a lil more digging and I see what you mean in this vid there are weapons all over the map, but Im guessing you also have access to ordinance drops. More options are never a bad thing imo so Im completely down this.

Hopefully Obama doesn’t forget to vote

I voted early but I live in AZ… NOT a swing state this year, haha.

usually, most weapons are on the maps, Not all of them.
They tailor each map.
I like Ordinance drops. I’m the type of player that doesn’t need a power weapon for kills. I’m happy with what I start. A well-placed grenade> weapon.

@ jack d ripper
Fuck that video, lol. That dude was annoying.
different note
I’m not to interested in someone opinion of a game if they’re an “mlg” player.
Youtube and even bloggin before that has made reviewing games a crock of shit.
