Halo Reach: Always Out Numbered But Never Out Gunned

Jetpacks, killmoves, ridiculously large outdoor maps, loadouts, rolls…none of which were what attracted me to Halo multiplayer originally.

I realize that they have to stay relevant to the times. But at what cost?

I hope you’re right though. I will still give it a try.

I’m glad I’m taking May 3rd off. That video was sick. beta can’t come soon enough.

And isn’t Iron-Man that weekend as well?

And it’s my birthday after the beta launches?

What a bad ass week that’ll be but school won’t be out yet. Just ain’t right.

That is one of the best trailers for any video games i’ve ever seen… i cant believe how different the game is and how crazy hyped i am after seeing it!

Just what is Loadout?

Equipment, ammunition, tools, and clothing used by a person (typically on active duty in the armed forces).

Loadouts can change depending on time of day, season, terrain, and personal preference.*

So something along the lines of what Modern Warfare does. Expect I think it will affect only certain game modes.

So…fancy name for equipment?

Check out this amazingly well done video analysis - http://blog.tiedtheleader.com/article/883/game-changer

watch it in HD!

One thing I noticed that wasn’t mentioned in the analysis video is that I didn’t see a single instance of dual wielding anywhere in that trailer. Combine that with the return of “push x to reload” and it makes me suspect that dual wielding has been removed entirely, which IMO is probably a good idea.

I definitely get the feeling that Bungie is trying to bring back some of the gameplay style of the original game while still pushing forward with new ideas. Maybe they will be able to reach a compromise between the fans of the first game that didn’t really like the direction the series went afterward and the people who like the more chaotic gameplay of Halo 2 and 3. I haven’t been this tentatively interested in a Halo game in years.

breakdown of the multiplayer video, a lot of great insight.

A lot of this seems it was jacked straight out of Tribes and Unreal Tournament, especially headhunter/rabbit and jetpacks(duh), but thats not a bad thing. I’m actually excited to try this game, especially after what a let down halo 3 was to me(if you like H3 sorry, I just didn’t).

Yea the weapons programmer for ODST was stoked that he convinced them not to bring back duel wielding so chances are very very high that it’s not going to be returning for Reach. I also think this is a good thing.

Bungie confirmed dual welding would not be in Reach ages ago

Well there you go.

lolwut Halo reach around?

Halo needs double shot BR again.

There may be a saving grace after all.

My interest just rose.

Subscribing. I saw the trailer for the game play and liked what I saw so far and sure a lot of my friends will play it so I’ll end up getting it anyways.

If anyone enjoyed the music used in the trailers so far, Bungie have uploaded the tracks - http://www.bungie.net/projects/reach/vidaudio.aspx?c=55

^^Nice, getting more hype the more I read about it. I really hope it’s balanced though.
