I think in his example he is stating that if they were to get 70 people the prize pool would be $700…which normally First would be $490 @ 70%…so you would get $500 flat. Not $500 + $490 + Xbox360, Just $500 + Xbox 360. And if there were 100 entrants , you would just get the normal $700, not $700+$500+…so it’s just guaranteeing that if it’s a shitty turnout, whoever gets first is walking out of there with at least $500+Xbox360 Pro.

I’m sorry my explanation of the $500 guarantee was so confusing.
WSOP has it almost correct… I’ll give a few examples:
2 participants :: $500 total pool :: 1st place would be $350 + xbox
47 participants :: $500 total pool :: 1st place would be $350 + xbox
65 participants :: $650 total pool :: 1st place would be $455 + xbox
100 participants :: $1000 total pool :: 1st place would be $700 + xbox
So really all I’m saying is if there’s less then 50 people in the tournament, we’ll make up the difference to make the total pot at least $500.
So if there’s poor turnout, first place will walk away with $350 + xbox
The last one we did had 72 players [albeit slightly different format] so there’s a good chance the pot will be bigger then the guarantee.

Throw the tourney in the afternoon. HP is a fucked up place at night.

It’s in Vernon [2 miles from downtown], not HP. The map shows the city incorrectly but the directions are correct.
The venue is covered for MILES on all sides by warehouses. There’s no PEOPLE, let alone gangs etc. [hehe]
I own a 08 accord… before that I had an 03 accord… I’ve worked there everyday for the last 4 years and never once even had a scratch. I’m a late bird so I’m usually at my office from 5pm to 4am.
The cops are our friends here. I’m a huge MMA fan and so is one of the supervisors on the PD. He comes over every month or so and we watch DREAM live from japan on my 100". He puts the word out to all his guys working that day and we are all good. In fact, we are a breathe of fresh air for them.
With tons of warehouses in the area comes plenty of parking…
If you wanna 420 it up, feel free but you’ll have a REALLY hard time finding anything else [other then alcohol at the bar] around here. I suppose you can drive a few miles out if you’re desperate.

I have a concern, mostly out of my ignorance of how the 360 works.
If you open the system right before grand finals, wouldn’t that limit you to only the starting 16 characters?

alex i think he means the 500 is the pot prize minimume and if say 60 people enter then the pot woudl be 600 and not 500 so how ever short of 500$$ he will add it that’s how poker tournaments do guerentees I THINK that’s what he means
i.e. if 40 people show up
it goes 1st 350
2nd 100
3rd 50
if 60 show up
1st 420
2nd 120
3rd 60

Just use one of the already used systems for the finals, it depreciates the value of the system if you open it.
Especially since the people with the best chance of winning already have a 360, so they probably want to sell it.
