|| Hakumen || "Doushita!?"

Ahh, think your right, but he used Tager’s j.c, which pulled him in, to hit Tager with his own j.c, which got a counter hit, which made it that much easier for him to dust loop him, very slick. Don’t know if you saw the other video of this guy, but the guy has sick mind games, anyone know his name?

-_-;
Mind games: Basically, making the opponent think one thing, but actually doing another, or something like that.

yeah i think he’s the same guy zazzarius is showing us on occasions. He’s really good with fundamentals, punishes, etc (what haku-men SHOULD be good at ). I always think that he’s the top haku player in psn Sendatu because sendatu exclusively uses that color (so does the guy in the video) but i can’t really compare game styles. He’s really good at the throw > guren > hop forward > 5b > JC > j.b > JC >j.c though x_x

Lol, yea, I started practicing that combo right after I saw that video.
It’s pretty tough, it’s similar to Bang’s SRK>dash>2b>SRK combo, in that if you dash to early or to late the dash won’t come out at all, so you have to get the timing just right.

I know I am mad late to this forum. I am new to the game, but I think playing haku men is more of a defensive offense type deal. I love the way he plays and as for fighting tagers its best to stay away and use the hell out of 6d and anything else d is used with to stay away. But in some cases yea you are right, you will have to work for your win.

thanks for the welcome. I I got online that same night and man handled a few tagers and a bunch of ragnas but I started seeing my problem to be jin. That ice slash up seems to put him in a invincibility state for about 3 frames it seems. But i try to stay out of range and use the almighty 6d and hope for a stagger/stun frame.

just a word of advice you seem to take a lot of stock into 6d… i wouldn’t do it too much. It’s easy to get predictable with counters. use it sparingly. Mixing it between block -> punish and counters is important ( at least i think so o,o)

Tager is giving me fits.
Is it just me, or is Tager Haku-men’s worst match-up?
Not only did I get knocked out of the AH tourney by a Tager (4-0) but I continued to get smashed by Tager after Tager all night

:crybaby:

Any tips on how to deal with this guy?

personally if it’s a scrub i’ll repeatedly jump in. but for people who know what they’re doing just stay back full screen and build stars and pressure them into coming. If they jump in at you use 2c if they’re not too high, if not you can try to time a j.d or 6.d if they’re coming in via sledge counter it. if they’re just walking and you’re in range just do 6c. That’s my own plan but i haven’t fought too many tagers that are REALLY good so… might as well take this with a grain of salt? D:

Lol, nah, that’s pretty good advice. I found that Haku-men’s drive is super helpful Vs. Tager, as his moves come out madd slow, especially his sledge, (The move where he like charges forward with his head, right) which very easy to counter, and punish with Shippu, if you have meter.

Do you know who I REALLY hate? CARL. GOD. DAMN. CARL.
HALF MAH COMBOS DON’T WORK X_X
throws are USELESS outside of renka, but i dun wanna waste stars on that :[
and omg you guys might not notice but 6a on carl= terribly hard.
it was a super close match, nirvana was dead, and then carl rushes me.
Carl: WARR CRYY!!!
haku: hah! fool! i have an epic anti-air that makes all your jump-ins USELESS!
carl: we’ll see about that…
haku: you’re bluffing! Go 6a! >:D
whiffs
carl: noob i’m too small!
haku: NOOOOOOO!
haku proceeds to be stabbed by odd machines from carl’s cape

EDIT: this has nothing to do with BB or anything but i found out what post got me neg rep from like a week ago. (yes! who knew there was a menu that told?!)

apparently i was neg repped because in the sf4 forums i said "I like viper’s theme and the menu song :X"
thing is i posted that MONTHS ago.
People can be so cruel… :shake:
Time to hide in corner :crybaby:

^ Carl can be a pain with all his little annoying combos like so many swarming insects buzzing around your head.

Pro-tip: swat him out the way with some well-timed punishes. I’ve found Carl has to be very careful getting in or else he easily loses half his life. I like to keep him spaced with C moves and 5b, and go in with 623a~a if I anticipate he’s about to come in.

With Carl, it’s all about making your perimeter, and making good use of counters. Also, always keep your distance from Nirvana. You don’t want to give him an opportunity to start the Loop, so dispatch her if at all possible. Most Carls I’ve seen rely quite a bit on her, so take her out, and you nullify his game.

Ooh those’re good tips. I never thought about using 5b. I figured meh 6a is tha best!
Ill try using 623a~a, too.

so heres a wierd question, was screwing around offline, and I found that using the super counter against projectiles works, and is effective, but I’m not sure what would happen in real games. My latency issue makes it hard to counter online :frowning:

Anyways; when I do it t o the computer, they always walk backwards on the ground and get hit. What are the attributes of the slash in that situation? I know it goes through other projectiles, but is it actually blockable at full screen? And what happens if they jump?

(I skimmed the thread for this but didn’t see it, sorry if I just missed it ><)

The results (I’ve been victim of this move myself) is that if you do it to a projectile, unless your opponent is a retard, you are going to whiff.

The counter is unblockable, but if they jump as you do it, you whiff completely. The AI just doesn’t realize that it’s unblockable, I suppose. Against someone who’s lost a match to that, you’ll find that you are going to get punished very badly if they can… which sucks, but sometimes it’ll nail 'em ftw.

i just realized something. I was in training mode against ragna and i put difficulty to max and then i was countering his pokes and then he would just DP and then not get countered. Which is really lame…

I got that bull stuff in Score Attack today. Perfectly timed counters but they don’t apply to the computer for whatever reason.

I know this one! If his stupid dp is in its invulnerable frames still, the counter will whiff. Also if he’s slightly above your arm, but I’m guessing ‘perfectly timed’ covers that :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh man, I played you today datboy in ranked. You’re the first Hakumen I’ve ever played that actually uses counters right. I was playing Litchi had no idea what you could and could not counter in the middle of blockstrings. PSN is giving me some bad habits lol. Think we could get together sometime so I can learn the matchup a bit better?

Ohya huh i played you a few times xD
Using barrier makes ridiculously good holes to use counter. so if you’re fighting a hakumen think twice about doing corner pressure :stuck_out_tongue:
Sure i’m down for playing again ^^
We could have a 'lil srk room lol.

“Perfectly timed” as far as 5d or 6d’ing something like a Ragna’s 5a, and then all of a sudden eating a his inferno divider when you countered the initial poke correctly.
