- Yes. I’m blind. Cammy hits Hakan after his active part of the grab.
- I completely forgot that 2 inputs on the same row have nothing to do with 2 moves starting at the same time.
Thanks!

Thanks!
Aaay, folks. I’ve got the final vids from the set I played with that awesome player on X-Box Live:
Me vs Dudley:

(By this time, I needed to start mixing it up a little more whenever I knocked him down. I still did decently, though. Also, I did not mean to use Super after I got a knockdown)
Me vs Adon:

(I’m not too keen on the Adon match, so a lot of my pokes were getting beat by jaguar kick and such. I need to start using air throw a lot more)
Me vs Cammy:

(The final match. I think this guy mains Cammy, cause he can do some nifty things with her. Don’t ask why I didn’t punish Ultra II later on in the match. I uh…just didn’t)
I’m surprised that you get away with so many empty slides.
Other than that, awesome vids dood!:woot:
I actually got unlazy today and started uploading some stuff.

vs Rufus. Yes, I do get a little excited during my U2 inputs. lolol

vs Dictator. Nothing too special.

vs Dhalsim. Yeah, I did godawful. I really don’t know the matchup at all, lol. I wasn’t particularly expecting anything better.
And like two vs Dudleys are coming up later.
Some Hakan mirrors with The Ultimate:

@Ultimate: Vs Guy, you have to get the DDT mixup game. Catch him with DDT once on wakeup or so, then he will most likely EX tatsu. Obviously, block, etc. Then it turns up into a big guessing game.
I really don’t think the mix-up game is that hard to fight. Dry Rocket has no invincibility. and ticking into it is mostly viable when you’re oiled. and Hakan’s not scary enough on wake-up to discourage jab mashing.
It basically goes like this (once you’ve landed an oil slide, for this example):
You just performed body press. If you lk oil, you are now oiled and obviously get the benefit of being oiled. After oil, you are able to block any attempted punishes; shoryuken, for example. After this probably the most effective punish would be a normal xx slide.
Alternatively, after oil, if you know they will not shoryuken and attempt to stay still or crouch out of the DDT setup, EX or normal oil rocket will catch them.
Of course, the DDT setup is useful as well. If they attempt to jump or backdash the DDT will catch them.
Depending on how you setup the DDT (Between eyeballing it and using the whiff setup), you can also mix it up from that point as well. IF the person in question knows to use a crouching normal, EX rocket, or block. If they only attempt a reversal like EX Tatsu from Guy, block and punish, preferably with a normal into slide, resetting the position.
Of course, it’s all a mixup game, and is different between every player; but if you are good at reading such things then it’s definitely viable and incredibly useful. The amount of damage even just one good read is phenomenal.
DDT setup won’t catch backdashing Guy.
You have to actually delay the DDT for that.
Is that so? Hm. I could have sworn it worked in training.
One option I would add which I’ve seen often is an opponent’s backdash on wakeup. Often I will land 2-3 knockdowns with the slide, then lk.oil and EX or normal Oil Rocket. This conditions the opponent to either backdash or jump back. On backdash the slide is fantastic and creates even more frustration for the opponent.
The more I learn Hakan the more I frustrate the crap out of my opponents. It’s really damn fun.
what exactly is the proper response to someone who mashes jabs on wakeup? I feel like I lose the initiative everytime i knock someone down
EX Rocket would be the best due to the hit invulnerability. Of course, if you dont have EX meter, you may want to back up a little bit and forward RH. This works best oiled, of course, and I believe it will still work dry.
Huh? A well timed oil dive will catch them before they can even get one jab out. Or, back dash out of jab range when they wake up and trump their wussy normal with something awesome like cr.mk xx slide-n-press, s.fierce, twd.fierce, twd.hk, something like that.
EDIT: EX oil rocket is a good suggestion too.
Oiled f.fierce stuffs the shit out of a lot of stuff. Give it a try
Wouldn’t any meaty attack hit them in the face anyway? st.Fierce or fwd + Fierce?
Though ex-SPD sounds best for the damage + oil buff
From the Hakan Lab thread,
Does Hakan have an overhead?
No, but if they wake up with a crouching normal in an attempt to escape an anticipated 360+K, you can grab them with EX 360+P or back out of their poke range and punish with either c.MK XX Slide, or f+MP XX Slide, or even just c.HK. This, of course, means nothing if you’ve already committed to the 360+K. Meaty 360+K setups are good too use occasionally, even if only to instill the fear of them in your opponent.
Ah okay, thanks for reposting this, knowledge is power!
I wish i had a way to upload vids, i have a ton of videos of me and metroxlyon mirrors.
I also have some really good vids of me/bread/metro vs best american PSN players, bread tore apart the vangsters Ryu and i fucked up his seth. When i win a match against revolver’s Sagat i’ll let you all know.
