Hakan is the new Dan then? Buu~ why are all the interesting characters so “bad”? 
His EX 360s appeared to have strike invul., that was the only way I could get anyone off me. Though I’m still not 100% sure if it has that.

First time poster here.
I just have a quick question about Hakan’s 360+P grabs. Non-oiled, is the jab version the same as someone like Zangief’s crazy range or is it actually horrible and have to be be pretty much ON the opponent? Oiled, does the jab version equal Zangief’s jab grab range, further, or shorter still?
Just trying to get an idea of how far he can grab. It’s crazy how far I can grab people as Zangief, and just wondering if Hakan will be similar oiled/non-oiled.

I explained that earlier in my post, without oil, the grab range is deplorably shitty. Its not even a 3rd as far as Zangief’s, you have to practically be within normal throw range. It also has WORSE (so says Seth) startup than a normal throw, which is retarded. The oiled version appears to be further than Zangief’s by a decent margin, but good luck maintaining oil and getting in range.
Non-oiled he is absolutely trash, oiled he is pretty good. Thing is, getting oiled and staying that way is difficult. From what I feel, Hakan will have several very favorable match ups and many 3-7s. POOR HAKAN. Though I’ll reiterate, this is only my initial impression. Hakan could have some undiscovered potential.
I knew you explained the grabs in your earlier post, I was just trying to get an idea compared to Zangief’s range.
I’m guessing EX Oil will be the best way to oil up. Isn’t it as fast as jab Oil? Or maybe a little longer, but even so it will let you avoid one hit at least. Also, I think the EX Oil is like 10-12 seconds? Maybe people will just ditch using his Super and go for EX Oils and Slide FADCs
EX Oil is as slow as roundhouse Oil, it just avoid fireballs and lasts longer.
His super looks like its trash IMHO so you’ll have plenty of EX meter to use for 360s+P/K

well maybe its althou a worthy taktic to get hit while oile up maybe its worth it like a jab disruptet HK oil

Thanks for the writeup but I think that Hakan will turn out to be much better than you make of him, so I’m not going to give up on him based on just “impressions” rather than actual experience which needs more than a few hours.

EX Oil is trash. If you avoid one fireball the animation is long enough to get hit by the 2nd. You would have to do it very, very early in the opponents fireball animation to come out safely. I’m still not sure if you CAN make it not punishable, especially against characters like Sagat who can do FP tiger shot, EX tiger shot. That seems unavoidable.

-If you are hit out of the startup frames of oil you do not keep the effect. Only the mid-late frames allow you to keep oil.
im certain! his crouching HP is one of the faster duck and forward moves it doesent antiair but it move UNDER the opponend with even frames it seems
wow, this is depressing, i was actually excited for playing this dude but it seems capcom just wanted to make him a joke character and not actually viable in tourneys. I mean his grab has bad range and bad start up? C’mon capcom how does a grappler get thrown out of his command grab? Oh well lets hope the longer people play the game they can learn some nice stuff with him but damn its looking bad at the moment.
