Mash punch when you perform the slide. If it connects Hakan will slide past the opponent and perform the splash, if the opponent blocks it he won’t slide past the opponent.

Sure about that? I’m sure I’ve seen him slide past the opponent and not follow up with the splash x_x?
I’m actually not too sure, but I highly doubt that whether or not being able to splash depends on how far the slide actually goes when you knock your opponent down. However, it seems to be that as long as the slide connects and as long as you hit punch at the right moment you get the splash… we’ll see.
EDIT:
I would recommend every check out the video thread for the new Hakan videos. Although the gameplay isn’t top notch it’s a lot better than the button-mashing we’ve received from the European videos. Some interesting things are Hakan’s jumping strong leading to a juggle state, EX oil dive going through low fireballs, and using low roundhouse as a situational anti-air. Some pretty cool stuff

We already covered the issue that the shirt’s too damn expensive. I can get my old high school teacher to put that text on a T-shirt for a lot less.

1.) It wasnt invincible to attacks, maybe only fb’s if you’ve seen tat before in a vid.
2.) regular oil has nothing, just a normal and it does not stack
3.) slide has no invinciblity, EX slide is invincible to fb’s can be safe max distance while normal one seems like it might be able to but probably not. EX can be a safe meaty and you can FADC out of any slide at almost any point besides the flip back. They are all set distance to my knowledge
4.) I got j.lk to cross up but it was so random same with j.mk. Though j.mp knocks down a2a all the time.
5.) Good antiairs where nuetral FP c.mp, f+mp j.fp j.mp, air throw is good tactic not as good as guiles.
6.) I think c.lp f+mp c.mk are all cancellable and combo into mp slide. you can combo s.lp x 2 or 3 into s.mp thats it

There you go, he has it rough, his normals are really good but he needs oil to be competitive. Getting oil will be the challenge for Hakan players to win in my opinion!
Nice, it’s good to see my theory panned out and his st hp can be used as anti-air. I was hoping that chop would be good or better than Honda’s.

Anyone else watch the j wong hakan video and think hakan looks a bit dry and turtley. I know the correct way to play chun is to box her in the corner and then punish. As a gief player I like the option of being able to rush down and keep the pressure on via wake up mix-ups. Does it look like hakan is going to need to be a turtle vs shoto’s/chuns if you are going to play him at a high level. Or can you get the knock down and then mix up from hell like gief.
If it’s easier to get a knock down via slide vs getting it via ex gh it may be a fair trade up losing som wake up options.
So who’s going to be better from what we’ve seen so far gief or hakan.

and please, I can promise you Hakan is not going to be banned anywhere. Lol it’s like all those rumors with Gouken getting banned when SF4 first came out.
So both Hakan’s forward and back throw put your opponent on the other side of the screen, is it just me or does that seem a little silly for a grappler character?
