Hakan Thread: I love my daughters, they are so pretty!

Do we know for sure that you can chain/link into low forward while oiled up? It would be awesome if he could!

We don’t know if standing strong is special cancellable, all we know is that towards+strong is cancellable. But we don’t know if we can combo into towards+strong other than from a focus crumple.

These bring up good questions though. I wonder if we can ask those Italian guys who have a copy of the game to verify the above for us.
Or we can just wait for the game to come out lol.

oh right i forgot about whether mp was cancelable

sorry for not using the jab, strong, forward and so on terminlogy lol im just used to saying lp mp mk and so on

but in an article somewhere they did say oiled up state lets u link some normals like c lp to c mp if im not mistaken

so someone needs to confirm if c mp can be special caqncellable or if c mk can be normal linked into

Hell yes, and someone on the NEOGAF forums revealed the Hakan Combo Trials, which showed that he could do just that.

At around 24:20 Hakan whiffs a slide right in front of Makoto… and quickly goes for a grab! It seems that Hakan can somehow either cancel the recovery of his slide into an Oil Rocket, or the recovery for the slide is QUICK AS FUCK. Hakan basically rolls out of a whiffed slide into a grab. It’s amazingly quick, definitely worth looking into and possibly worth some mix-up potential.

you guys are gonna make me mad when this game drops. So much potential…

I hope makoto keeps up ha

This dude does seem to have potential, my one question is if oil stacks? And does regular oil allow projectiles to pass through you?

I think they said that you can just refresh the oil, maybe the time duration stacks, and only as you do EX oil will projectiles will go though you, once the oil is on you gotta dodge the projectiles

I don’t believe it’s being cancelled, Hakan is just doing the command grab right after he recovers from the slide. It just happens that the distance after the first command grab is perfect for setting this type of thing up. If the slide is blocked point blank the recovery is awful. Slide recovery is not that quick per se, just looks like it since he recovers before he ends up getting close to Makoto.

Green hand to spd is a gief fav. I’m guessing short slide to k 360 grab to catch jumpers and p 360 grab to cratch crouchers will be key to hakans game. I see blankas do that crap with regular grab all the time.

Does it seem like there’s any range where any strength of the slide is safe on block? Can you do the followup splash even if the slide doesn’t knock the opponent down, or even if it doesn’t touch the opponent at all?

the follow up splash is only if the slide connects

so after talking with a few of my friends some of them seem to think that Hakan is actually going to be a banned char. Are people that afraid of him already LOLOL:badboy:

Even if he gets banned I’d still go to tournies and pick him. . .fuck it. . .

Already plan to go to events with a bottle or two of olive oil in my bag. . .bust out just in case things get dry. . .

I really don’t think it would come to that.

I am still wondering about oil properties.

Say I EX Oil.

Right before it runs out can I LK Oil and get the full refresh on the EX? Does it add the LK Oil to what I have? Does it just have LK Oil length, cutting my oil time?

To add to that seems like the follow up is only if you connect and slide under/past them, don’t think I’ve seen the splash when they’ve stayed on the same side after knocking down.

I highly doubt LK will top it back up to EX length unless you use it shortly after EX of course. Like you, I want to know whether it stacks or overwrites  I’ve heard them use the word “stack” but whether it’s used correctly is another matter.

Nobody’s getting banned, come on guys.

nah no one here is saying he will be banned its just the fear other people have for Hakan, its just funny

lol i like that idea, i can see myself doing that as well.

I don’t think Hakan will get banned. He doesn’t look like he has any super crazy overpowered moves or nothing. Sagat in SF4 was great but not banned. =P

And from the looks of all of the Hakan videos I’ve seen, I’d said he doesn’t like getting rushed down or zoned by projectiles. I’m sure he’d try to slide or crouch under them, but you can’t do that forever.

Hakan, if anything, might just be a really good grappler compared to the other grapplers, but that’s all I could assume.
