we can all thank the people at Giant Bomb tricking the scrubs and retards watching the stream, cuz apprently they think Hakan is horrible. This is all coming from people who just want to see ultras, colors, theme music, and taunts:wgrin:

Thats good i guess right, i mean hakan is an intermediate character right so most of these kids wouldn’t have picked him up anyway. But he is looking really good, did anyone see the video of him punishing projectiles from full screen with an oiled up slide? Like in theory he sounds vicious cause from long distance your only giving him time to oil up and up close, well he is grappler so thats where he thrives. Its looking like there are very few spots on the stage where he isn’t comfortable.

Finally(to end my wall of text) i heard a rumor that he can stack oil(i.e oil up twice consecutively and have the oil last twice as long) if this true then he is looking rather vicious.

If I’m a Rufus player and my Hakan opponent is throwing out random bonos in expectation of my dive kicks, I’m feeling ok. Random guesses like that don’t deal with dive kicks very well. Think about how often you see characters with good get-off-me moves use their moves against Rufus: almost never, since it’s just not worth the risk that he won’t do a dive kick or will evade the move. Dive kicks are too fast and guideable to react to.

Won’t hakan be able to use his air grab as an anti air move befor he gets utra I know I see high level guiles use air grab as an anti air on reaction.

Just depends on how the air throw is made. Guile does that, but that doesnt really work for Cammy. It depends on the range of the air throw and the length of its startup and the angle of his jump. Would be sweet if it works!

Hakan’s trials have him perform low forward -> slide as well as towards+strong -> slide

jumping strong into slide as well

Hey guys, GiantBomb’s archive SSF4 video shows that Hakan can cancel normals into Oil Shower. It looks like a low forward -> Oil shower to me

Cool, so hopefully we will be able to start a “vortex” similar to giefs where they dont know if to hold up back and get hit by the slide or down back and get command grabbed. Looking good hakan.

mmm i wouldn’t say it’s similar to Gief’s mix-up since he can do multiple jabs/shorts into ex green hand, or change it up with and SPD. Based on the developer blogs and what Seth has said I think Hakan offense is going to involve a lot more punishing mistakes and catching your opponent while their second-guessing themselves, or knowing what your opponent is going to do next. That is, unless Hakan can do something like jab -> jab -> low forward -> slide but i highly doubt he can…

If he’s oiled why not? I can see oil up allowing you to do jab jab, low forward xx slide. Needs more testing.

oiled up hakan can link his lp into mp so yea lp lp mp slide would be a viable combo…oiled up

basicaly the gameplan of using hakan is to find a way to oil up safely and often and using that little time to rush the fuck down and get some mind games goign before the oil wears off then u go into ur defensive game with s hp and f hp and try to force a mistake and punish with oil rocket then oiling up
