“I think he is top tier” Based on what? Based on the videos they saw. It’s not a conclusive statement in the least. Whether you like it or not it’s an opinion: fact Just because it’s not like yours doesn’t mean it isn’t one period.
We have a fucking clue, because there are log of videos (well some videos) that showcase a few of his supers, both is ultras, some of his normas and other various mechanics. Enough to formulate an inconclusive opinion.

Alright man, still working on it, but I only got worked up like this because I do actually rate the IV series so far, and am very excited for Super (Makoto and Dudley esp.) but just not liking what I’m seeing here…
It’s not the sort of statement you should be saying after seeing videos at all. ‘Tiers’ are a controversial subject at the best of times (I was at a tourney the other month where a Fuerte conclusively won it) and sometimes it takes years for a game being out for the tiers to be firmly established.
Ok anyway yes the spelling error was a cheap shot, I’ll chill the fuck out but rar Hakan is just not doing it for me right now. That is all.
I wish it was a joke… cause this guy doesn’t belong in SF… worst idea they made so far… This guy makes those silly Tornado Ultras look GOOD… damn… This is one character I will avoid.
Seems from that footage when hes not oiled up he barely does any damage so that looks to be his gimmick.
Hes got that slip n slide dash tackle thing going on, could possibly link after that back throw if near corner I guess, then he has that belly flop to hit KD’d opponents, if you are fully oiled up I guess you use a knockdown for some extra damage otherwise any KD should be used to oil up lol. Looks like all his specials are grabs, that slide is probably a qcf and I’m sure the belly flop is a qcb, doesn’t look like he has a dp. I don’t really see him having good normals, it looks like he has a drop kick of some kind for a sweep, probably too slow for anything.
Just looks like a fun character to fuck around with at home, probably won’t see him beasting at tournaments.
Honestly the tiers system is completely fluid and changes all the time. Since it is a controversial subject there is even less harm in speculating about it. I mean really, who or what are we worried about when random poster A. says “I think he will be top tier”
Judging from IPW and Buktooth’s info, Hakan will have some trouble from a fair share of the cast with his supposed lack of AA’s (aside from OCH) and fireball-resistance. Glad that he has command normals and a fairly unique throw game. Probably gonna have to be patient to get through zoning, much like Honda. Hopefully EX and/or Oil will give him additional tools to handle his business. Hope we can get a demo soon.
Look at 3rd Strike: the top tier is Chun, Yun and Ken, in roughly that order. That is an established top tier. Great players of weaker characters are out there, and can do very well, but that top tier has clearly been established over many years of exposure to very competitive scenes.
So to come out and say “Hakan 4 tha t0p t31r!” (or more like the guy here hedging his bets by saying he’s going to be lower-b tier, gotta love that precision) just laughable to me, man. Really shows up the inexperience of whoever is saying it.

I’m just here to explain why their opinions are stupid is all. When I come on here and say I hope to the lord Jesus H Christ that Hakan is a mess of a character who is out-tiered by Dan, then that is my heartfelt hope based on what I’m SEEING (aesthetically) of this joke of a character.

General consensus says so (about Makoto). Until otherwise proven (which will likely be the case with the footage we’ll start seeing), why not speculate with the information that most people accept to be true at this point? I mean, if people accept that Guile and Gen have been given nothing in Super, why can’t the opposite be accepted for purposes of speculation?

3S has been around for 10 years with no new iterations. In that case yes the tier system will eventually settle out. This is a completely different story. Both in 3S and 4 have gone through a lot of tier changes so it is absolutely true in this situation.
I never said he would be top tier, or that I think he will be. Only that I hoped so. And initial impression as we have all found out have been known to be very wrong so it’s a crap shoot either way.
