Hakan Thread: I love my daughters, they are so pretty!

Actually coming into a thread that is OBVIOUSLY dedicated to a game (a character rather in said game) that isn’t out yet and telling people speculation is stupid is equally if not more so. We could sit around all day and tell each other how cool we think Hakkan is or we can have fun guessing and you can stop being a jerk about it.

There’s a difference between saying “if Hakan is top tier” and saying “I think Hakan is going to be top tier”.

That’s a big IF there. The former is just speculation, the second is showing you don’t even understand the concept of tiers.

And I hope he’s not, ffs.

^ THIS. Wtf is Capcom doing?!?!

Hooray for those loosers…they are loosers becaue they like a Hakkan?

The guy said he “THINKS he’ll be B-tier”

I like you so aggressively defend your opinion but are so quick to shit on others. He doesn’t “know”, he never said he knew. He made a statement based on his opinion much like yourself. Quit being so salty damn.

No one is deciding or insisting anything. We’re making predictions. Nothing wrong with predictions. Worse things happen on SRK then predictions. Stop crying because people have opinions.

Am I the only one who sees some potentially nice juggling properties off of his squish-them-into-the-air throw? FADC that shit into dash-forward Ultra 2 or a juggle combo. Of course, if it’s an actual throw without juggle properties, then sure, never mind. But anything that throws’em THAT high should have Gouken-backthrow-like properties.

And the reason I said that about Makoto is because people that have PLAYED the game are all pretty much in agreement that Dudley and (to a lesser extent) Makoto are in the top few slots. Now I know that’s not definite, but fuck I’m going to reference it since so many people are in agreement. If you can’t prove otherwise, why not speculate? NOTHING is wrong with speculating on the game based on the information we currently have. When we have concrete information, those speculations are replaced by hardcore facts. Until then, why not? And you’re the douchebag coming into a thread dedicated to Hakan and just trying to shit on everybody’s parade. You’re an asshole. GDIAF.

How in the hell does the second show that? Fuck you yourself said we don’t know anything about it. saying “I think” is nothing more than an observation with the caveat of possibly being wrong.

I hope he is top tier, his annoying demeanor will be a good basis of making your opponent fuck up.

Btw the second is speculation too.

Losers is spelt with one ‘o’.

And yes, they are losers because they like Hakan. He’s looking to me like the SF equivalent of Jar Jar Binks.

And that’s a very dumb thing to say because what the fuck is he basing that on?

What I will say is IF he is higher than low tier, and I find myself being squeezed from between the buttocks of an oiled up, incestuous father covered in his own semen, then I’d rather stick to playing original SFIV thanks. Possible good thing would be if Makoto is top tier or they havent ruined Sagat, then at least I can vent my hatred for the character directly upon him.

No, his opinion is not like my opinion in the slightest.

My opinion is based on aesthetic qualities of the character, such as the way he looks (as if drenched in semen), and the way he sounds (like a Bugs Bunny cartoon). I have LOOKED at the character. But I havent PLAYED the character. So I’ll make no statements about how I think he’ll match up against the other chars when I, like everyone else here, has no fucking clue.

EDIT: alright alright I’ll chill the fuck out! These are my first thoughts when I saw this character though, and so they shall be recorded here for time immemorial.

I just woke up and checked out all the Hakan footage and info from the write up. This shit is great. He is an instant classic to me and he looks like he is going to be a bad ass on top of being one of the most entertaining characters in the roster. I’m gonna have to give him a shot.

No shit it’s not definite because as you can tell from most of the early footage, the peoploe who have played the game already barely know what the fuck they are doing.

Anyway, I don’t usually go around hating on shit online but I have stuck up for SFIV (and Sagat in that game especially) with as much saltiness as I’m putting into these posts so whatevs. I even disagreed with people who were saying Akuma’s new Ultras were getting too slapstick. But this shit is beyond the pale imo.

EDIT Oh yes, from what I can tell his gay Ultra does shitty damage. Thank fuck for that! I’ll be praying this character is a piece of shit until release day.

Hahaha, what can I say, I love rocking the low-tier

Oh no, someone mispelled a word on the intarwebz.

And I think that he’ll be in at least bottom of B-tier because:

1.) I prefer to be optimistic about the character I plan to main.
2.) OCH looks hella boss as it makes jumping super high-risk.
3.) Dashing grabs, slide, and the leaping-but-crouchable-grab look good.
4.) He does damage when oiled.
5.) Who knows what else he has or what set-ups he has.

And you know what? If I’m wrong? NOTHING CHANGES.

And it’s kinda sad that you’re here throwing a fit over a red, oily guy in a video game.

The Dude does not abide.

Hmm… Hexidecimal. Notice anything strange?

yeah Ive been thinking about that too, there has to be a reason for why his command throw is the only one without a zoom in animation like Gief/Abel/Honda etc.

Maybe you can FADC to slide or U2 near corner, or maybe cancel to Super.

I was not refering to the people that has their thoughts and opinions about what tier a certain character…but to those people saying that it has been confirmed that so and so character will be a certain tier. Saying this before the game is even released to the public is downright dumb.

Yes I know, being very un-Dude…

It wasnt a typo because he did it twice, and I already spelt it correctly in my post. So yes, his opinion counts for less as a result.

The wise thing to do then is to HOPE he will be B-tier. Because you have no way of actually deciding that you think he will be.

Is that the gay-ass, lie on his back, looney-tunes, squeezed from between oiled buttocks ultra? Because it looks hella gay.

I’d actually rather this character was homosexual, and his win quotes were about how he’d be raping his opponent once the screen goes black.

Yes, and when people who don’t know what they are doing play, anything can “look good”.

And looks like he’s been bukkaked.

Yes, indeed, who does know? Because you and I sure as shit don’t.

What the fuck with these appeals to the meaninglessness of my input and our interactions generally?

I’m happy when I get one response to any forum post or youtube video, I’m not looking to fucking change the world here buddy, just sharing my opinion. So save the emo.

From IPW:

Richard Li from 1UP played Hakan extensively through out the night and I spent some time with him as well. Many of our matches were the “Third Strike Characters” vs “Hakan” so I got to see a lot of this guy through out the night.

We both agreed that the best way to summarize Hakan is E. Honda with an assortment of grabs and awkward moves. That said, it’s really hard to compare him to any one Street Fighter character considering how unique he is. A lot of his normal moves resemble E. Hondas, and for every punch and kick, he also has a corresponding command normal. For instance, Forward + Roundhouse resembles E. Honda’s standing roundhouse and his Forward and Fierce is different than his Standing Fierce.

Of course, he can oil up to become stronger, a strategy that slightly resembles Q’s from Street Fighter 3. When oiled up, all of his moves become stronger and have increased range. One could say that when he is oiled up, all of his specials have “kara” properties, making his up-close game very ambiguous and scary at times.

Oiling up will be a key part of any Hakan player and the move is executed by inputting Dragon Punch plus Kick. The light version takes less time to recover, while the Roundhouse version takes longer to recover but I assume gives him more time to be oiled up. He also has an EX version but I am not entirely sure what its exact properties are.

His command grabs seem very good, and the EX versions of them seem even better – great for punishing any blocked attacks really. He has a standard 360 SPD-esque grab that grabs standing and crouching opponents – it’s the one where the opponent shoots out of his arms. The EX version of this grab as I said seemed pretty ridiculous – it was very useful for punishing blocked attacks, seemed to have some sort of invincibility properties and has incredible range when Hakan is oiled up.

He also has another grab that reminded me of Alex’s DDT in Third Strike although the properties are a little different – it hits standing opponents and jumping opponents but seems to miss on crouching opponents. This grab was effective when the opponent would be up close, and then go try to jump away or go for a vertical attack.

His slide is his armor breaking attack and travels further across the ground the more oiled up he is. You can also follow up with a body splash attack by mashing on punch after the initial hit.

He does have a “coward crouch”, the same move Blanka has to avoid projectiles. This move does not avoid Juri’s low fireball though.

Over all he only has a small number of special moves so I think players will have to utilize his normals to set up grabs to do max damage.

It’s hard to say for sure, but a lot of us felt he will have a hard time dealing with projectile characters and assume he will have a number of bad match ups, but of course we only spent a couple hours with him so it’s too early to tell at this point. I can’t imagine him being top tier, but you never know!

At least we didnt get other damn shoto character
