f+mp by itself is very easily confirmed in to slide. No need to blow the meter. It’s quite possibly the latest special cancel on a normal in the game. Just throw training dummy on random block and see for yourself…it’s sooo easy.
You guys are coming up with great stuff. I’m going to go over all the new posts in this thread and update the front page over the course of the next few days. Keep up the great finds guys.
@ gaoser Thanks, didnt mean to offend, i also mained honda in vanilla and like the playstyle of Hakan so I hope we can work together to build on Hakan.
Am I missing something or is f+mp not reversal punishable on block? From what I tested it was very punishable. I could always be wrong thou.
I can’t wait till you guys get to see the set-ups I’ve developed for Hakan.
I may not know how to standing 720, but unless you’re oiled, a dash-buffered 720 isn’t too bad usage.
Edit, I didn’t notice before, but here is my own answer
Quote:
?“Criscoing” or “Crisco” is a technique discovered by Ultradavid that is the act of comboing while oiled from lv.1 focus attack dash forward.
I haven’t gotten to try much with Hakan yet, I was lucky to play at all the other day, but how good is criscoing?
Crisco is a term UltraDavid coined a couple of days ago.
Kryonik came up with the name “crisco” actually, although the actual move I think I invented. Not that it matters a whole lot.
There are three terms here I think.
-
Dash normal cancel aka dnc. This is where, when oiled, you do a dash and then cancel it into a normal. Pretty simple.
-
Focus attack dash cancel aka fadc. You already know this one, it’s where you cancel out of a move by pressing focus and then immediately dashing out of the focus.
-
Crisco. This is where, when oiled, you fadc out of a move and then immediately upon dashing you cancel that dash with another normal. Basically, a crisco is linking two normals by doing fadc dnc in between them.
did anybody found a karagrab so faar? and im desperatly search for a good explanation WHEN TO USE 360+k
besides a perfekt timed Super with LK (Hit Imunity) seems unblockable for me and its not that hard since you can delay him after the super animation if you timed a bit to early!
I second this. All this crisco stuff is amazing, but I still want some definitive confirmation that he can he kara f+mp (or whatever else) into grab/specials.
F + :hp: is his kara. But the distance is superrrrrrr small. It goes about 1/4 of one of those tiny tiles in the training mode stage.
nothing else? --> sad reaper :crybaby:
Oh, and I’m not sure if anyone said this, but for the Super, the button you press will give different invincibility like Abel’s Super. The one to note is the :hk: version which has projectile invincibility. It will grab from about half screen away.
:lk: is hit invincible, where :mk: is throw invincible.
Kinda useless because they have to be standing, but these are nice to know in order to punish random Super/Ultras.
sorry Richard your wrong;) the one to note is the :lk: it gives hit Imunity and you are going to use EX meter OFTEN against fireball user since you hafe a fullscreen punisher with the exslide but the :lk: on wakeup is unavoidable and is awsome for punishing almost every punish move like
Shoryuken; EX-Messiah; Buffalo Headbut; DashUpper; and so on^
Specialy since the other EX-Properts i found out so faar are pretty much worthless
EX-Slide =Antifireball
EX-360+:k: = Antigrab
EX-360+:p: = more damage and??? (didnt find out yet maybe its only more damage?)
I haven’t found any hooligan-type meaty super setups that the opponent can’t duck. I’m not sure why this is the case, since I found meaty ddt setups pretty quickly. Maybe I’m just messing up or maybe it’s not possible, I dunno.
As for his kara, it’s not really worth doing. A couple of his moves actually move him backwards when used as karas.
Reaper, ex 360p is hit invincible. As far as I can tell, it’s his only hit-invincible non-super/ultra move. Ex slide is invincible at the start, but only for such a small period of time and so much earlier than when it starts hitting that it consistently loses to meaty attacks on your wakeup.
Hey guys, how useful is Crisco against jump-ins?
I play Elf in vanilla and Focus absorbing jump in attacks is a habit that I find hard to break.
If its a cross-up, I dash away, ad if its not, I usually end up eating a reversal dp/command grab.
But hitting a Lvl1 FA with an oiled Hakan = free combo into slide because of crisco yes?
—EDIT—
I just read David’s post on terminologies. What I’m talking about isn’t a crisco (linking two normals via FA), just a regular FA combo’ed into a normal.
I posted about it on Page 2 in this thread. I’ve been doing extensive testing involving characters and which Ultras and Supers it can beat/feasible to do on reaction to.
I will say that I almost NEVER use Ex Oil unless I’ve got full bars. Hakan builds meter FAST, so having full bars gives me the incentive of getting oiled up for 16-17 seconds, then building that bar right back up with some beastly normals/specials.
Either way, I must say that Ex Slide is not worth it in most cases unless you need to avoid a KO and you’re reacting to a fireball. I’ve seen that you can HP Slide on reaction to a fireball, get the knockdown and become reset by the fireball (Not always) hitting your feet. Creating a similar situation as to the body slam follow-up. Even then, it seems like Ex Slide doesn’t have much, if any, invulnerability aside from Projectiles.
I’m not 100 on this, but looking at the IGN Preview video, it almost looked like F+MK forces stand-up, meaning you might be able to F+MK xx 360-K and grab them. I’ll do some testing tonight because apparently my boys got legit copies of the game now so I’ll see if I can’t get some time to test it.
God, I love abusing his standing fierce against opponents in the corner. It serves as a semi-decent anti-air as well.
I use it to break focus.
I’m going to be using Hakan’s Normals to his Specials about 80/20. It’s going to be a fun journey destroying people in news ways, all the while covering the world in my oil.
Just outta’ curiosity, how strict is the timing of Crisco’s?
360k is really giving me some probs. I can barely land it on anyone that knows what it is.
I did however enjoy ex oiling through goukens dengins, sagats cannons and ryus supers. I coward crouched a couple too just to rub it in.
But yea, anytime someone rushes me down hard, Im really in trouble.
