So he is the only char in the game who can combo of lvl 1 focus.Right? Also getting pressure after lvl 1 blocked focus is pretty awesome.
Level1 Focus seem to hafe framedisadvantage on block but maybe with cancel its even a blockstring! that would be awsome
I was wondering if his EX Oil slide had diff properties on buttons because Id keep ending up short.
From what I can tell im just smoking crack and doing it RIGHT when my oil wears off.
Wow I was told Hakan was a sorry character but after looking at what Ultra David did with that Focus attack. He looks interesting.
I havent played yet, but from what I noticed in the vids is that EX oil slide only travels a long distance if you are oiled up. If you are not oiled up then the slide only travels a short distance. I could be wrong though.
nope that is 100% correct. If oiled, you go the distance of the fierce slide, no oil you go the distance of the jab slide.
Hakan just got beefy. Crisco = win.
i dont get it why is the level1focus combo so important?
^^im guessing it will work like an almost parry into combo
It’s important because it gives him a hit confirmable combo (toward+mp or cr. mk facrisco cr. mk xx slide+followup), makes his pressure games much stronger since it gives him a real block string, and serves as a great tick into spd. I have a feeling we’re gonna find way cooler stuff with this.
Looks very cool. Thanks for the info David.
but your combo cost two baars exmeter and therefore you could just fancel a point blank slide too… am i wrong?
Level1 focus doesn’t need meter to be comboable, you can slide then cancel into level1 then proceed with your block strings. I’m super excited about hakans pressure/mixup game.
The problem i see right now is his defense, if he can’t reliably get oiled vs rushdown characters…
thanks for the early work UD!, any chance we could see a slide-level1focus-mk-slide-level1-grab block string?
edit: i haven’t been keeping up on frame data- are any of hakan’s normals linkable into level1 focus?
Combos
?“Criscoing” or “Crisco” is a technique discovered by Ultradavid that is the act of comboing while oiled from lv.1 focus attack dash forward.
?All combos that end with Slide may be followed up with Bodyslam.
5LP > 5LP > 5LP > 5MP
8MK > Slide
crisco > HP
crisco > 8MK > Slide
8MK > crisco > 8MK > Slide
8MK > crisco > HP

Oiling durations do not stack. Oil durations are replaced with whichever version of oil is applied.
?Approx. Oil Durations in seconds (including oiling animation)
SK: 6.5
MK: 10.5
RH: 14.5
EX: 16.5
?Safe Oiling setups
Forward Throw: SK Oil
Back Throw: None
Slide: None
Slide + Bodyslam: SK Oil
DDT: SK Oil
LP Command Grab: Very character specific, SK Oil safe on all characters
MP Command Grab: SK Oil
HP Commad Grab: None
Super: SK Oil
Ultra 1: SK Oil
Ultra 2: Very character specific, SK Oil safe on all characters
Sweep: None
Oiled RH knockdown: None
Jumping MP (while opponent is in air): RH/EX Oil
?General notes
Crouching MK can be cancelled into slide. If slide is blocked, it may be cancelled.
6HP pushes him forward.
6RH is ony a knocked if oiled.
When not oiled, Hakan can only Command Grab when his body is up against the other character
While oiled, Hakan can Command Grab at the same distance as it would take to land a LP.
Hakan can push forward into Command Grab range with 6MP, 2FP, and Neutral MK.
Sliding avoids most crossups and can be used as an anti-air. Other anti-airs include HP, Ultra 2, Slide, and 6MP.
While oiled, 2HP can duck under jump in attacks and may be followed up with command grab.
All vesions of slide, 6MP, 2FP, 2.RH, 6RH, and some distances of FP (double hit,) can be punished on block.
In my opinion I would not use the crisco too much because you will mostly be using EX meter to cancel blocked slides. Much like how Zangief attempts to use EX-Green hand, then fadc on block. I would use the slide moreso in this manner to score a possible knockdown because that is when the grab options open up. Also poking with m. kick into slide (cancel on block) is another way to setup a knockdown.
I agree that rushdown characters will give Hakan a lot of problems but slide may just be the best antiair in the game so use it to punish normal jump ins and empty jump ins. Although the 2nd ultra is stupid and does less damage, it can help get pressure off of you. Also coward crouch, down, 1st ultra is a nice antiair but a bit harder to execute.

this is precisely what you would crisco for. blocked slide->cancel into level1focus->crisco.
good to hear slide is good AA, sounds just like my current headbutt AA game
Hakan’s air throw is pretty good and his c.fp is good for avoiding cross ups.

Good point!
Does anyone have a preferred way to do a walk up standing 720? My way is very inconsistant
Are you kidding me? Criscos will be fucking amazing for Hakan. He essentially gets a quarter screen pressure tool/tick throw. Lvl1 focus attack into block string or tick throw, if the focus attack hits you can do towards strong into slide. This gives Hakan a great tool to tick grab from a distance as well as hit confirm into slide. Criscos are crispy.
I didnt say they werent good. Im just saying that crisco combo, cr medium kick > fadc crisco > cr medium kick slide is a waste of meter unless it would finish someone off. Also towards strong is punishable on block. Just to clarify, I think the find is great and can be built upon, i just think that as the starter of this thread you shouldnt be so rash on opinions. If this keeps up, ill just take my thoughts and suggestions elsewhere.
