Hakan Lab

ok i found something out thats maybe worth a investigation

  1. Record a EXMashinegun Upper and holt :df: after the upper is executet!
  2. Reversal Hakans Super against a blocked Upper

you will notice 2 things

  1. Dejaa has enugh time to DUCK after the block and since you recordet :df: he will stay DUCKED
  2. Super will hit him REGARDLESS

EDIT:
could not reproduce it maybe my recording was somewhat wrong dont know sorry^

Not working for me… I’ve tried with and without oil for all kicks and he still ducks it regardless.

im talking about the SUPER ONLY and it must be a reversal super i used lk but mk works too didnt test hk

I just want to say that from dnc, to t+rh auto tech, to all the other crazy stuff on UltraDavid’s YouTube channel, I’m super excited to see what else you guys find AND how well all this crazy stuff works in tournaments.

Things I’ve seen (from videos) that EX oil is invincible to other than projectiles:

M.Vega’s Psycho Crusher
Viper’s air flame kicks

Since I don’t have the game yet, I can’t actually test anything, but it’s certainly an area ripe for testing.

its well known that it hase short invicible frames but they are so short that the move is no good reversal even with to be honset Hakan with a as good as reversal like EX-Hand Gief or Messiah Kick would be overpowered…

I am not talking about “short invincible frames.” I am talking about its very long invincible frames that have, up to this point, only been discussed in regards to projectiles. Here is an example:

sorry i misunderstood you talking about ex slide the exoil is something diffrent dics crusher must be countet as projektil^

Sorry, I meant to say that I used his Super with all different kicks and all have registered as reversals but yet no results.

i did try it again and it didnt work maybe my fault in recording^

Did anyone notice near the beginning of the second round, it looked like the ex oil was immune to Bisons headstomp as well. I wonder how many other moves the ex oil goes through…

watching that vid. I notice you did a lot of jumping around. Is that a good way to play Hakan? I’m just wondering if I should include such a tactic in my game since I have a hard time anting aerials

Nice vid btw

I’ve been working on ddt setups a lot, and while some seem to be nicely consistent, others are a little more spotty. I think they’re going to be very character-specific, which means they’re gonna take way more time than my little study breaks allow me right now. If any of you could help figure out which characters these work on and which they don’t and which other ones do, that’d be great:

-----Opponent standing, toward+mp xx mk ddt (everyone I think, although by the way if you mash down+normals in between the mp and the ddt, you’ll duck under it)
-----Cr rh sweep, half step or cr jab, lk ddt
-----Oiled toward+rh sweep, whiff cr jab, lk ddt
-----Slide+followup, whiff toward+hp, mk ddt
-----Slide+followup, delay whiff cr mk, mk ddt
-----Fierce spd, two steps, rh ddt
-----Fierce spd, jump toward, lk ddt
-----Ddt, whiff toward+hp, rh ddt

I don’t have the game (yet?) and I have no idea who that is in the video, so I can’t help ya on that one hahah. Quick, someone hold a 3s combo contest where the prize is SSF4 for 360 so I can start testing things properly.

Did some tests and unfortunately the following is not possible.

You cannot kara cancel a DNC’d normal. So nothing like dash, 360+P~P for a dashing command grab.

f+HK can be kara’d into specials, but you lose the auto-tech property. It kara cancels to normal throws (which is useless anyway) but not FA. Oddly enough I think you could kara the non-oily f+HK into FA.

Don’t know how helpful this is or if its already known but EX-slide does not beat Vega’s ex roll. And either I did ex or regular slide beats out Guy’s ultra 1. Even though he did the ultra on reaction. If he blocked it he would have caught me.

Slide gets beat out by a lot of stuff, Ibuki’s sliding on the ground grab s*, and Cammy’s spiral arrow or w/e it’s called are a few to mention. interesting about guy’s ultra 1, though. probably because oil slide makes hakan’s hit box too low for ultra 1 to even touch him.

found a good setup for his ddt

slide without follow up

after he resets from the slide whiff a c lp then go for a lk oil dive

dont whiff the lp immediately after the hit…u want to delay it just a lil…like 1/4th of a second

s lp and c lk works as well if thats easier for u

ddnt get hit out of it or ducked under by lows as far as i know…dunno bout reversals havnt tried that yet

just the more consistent oil dive grab for me

nice ones i think ddt is althou usable in mixups specialy delayed i tryed it in trainingsmode its posible to catch a back/straight jumper on reaktion with a bit delaying against straigt its important that you dont delay it if they dont atack yet becouse they could hit you out of it but backward jumpers can not (if timed correkt)

and the realy intresting stuff are setups for tickthrows and block and DDT on reaktion against reversals/jumpers

catching a jump on startup is more spycho and risky than a meety slide

just to add on davids findings towards RH to lk dive after fierce/ex spd works as well
