Hacked DLC characters being used online, thoughts?

A) To scare people away from doing these things they don’t like
B) To stop people ****ing up their stuff modding it and demanding a refund

Doesn’t matter if you can legally do anything about an agreement, if you make it look official enough people will be less inclined to break it even if no penalty can be applied for doing so, since they may assume there will be legal reprecussions.

More or less a safeguard for them when you do hack their shit and somehow brick whatever your modding by accident.

They won’t be entitled to warrant you anything since you “broke” the agreement to do what they said.

Assurance.

For the record: Modding or hacking is not illegal practice. Retailers are just no longer responsible for what happens after the fact. There’s no illegal activity until hacker attempts to resale product after modifications.

You can’t apprehend for hacking a legally bought product. Even if you burn it, as long as you’re not resale as your own product… it’s fair game.

hacking nul and void warranty. As long as it’s hacking a game you bought.
As for people using locked on disc dlc character online. Good for them.

As long as those DLC dont “break the game” with glitches that ruin online play…but that’s just megaman, who can be unlocked for the magic price of 5$.
I feel like capcom with each new game is eroding more of it’s fanbase than it is gathering new customer.
Well it’s not so bad for me actually, i’m growing up and this generation of videogame might be the last i’ll spend so much time playing.
May the company i used to like crash as i depart so i’ll dont regret them muhahahaha.

This and i didnt pay for SfxT so it’s all “meh” to me.
But from what i played, i wouldnt have spent 10$ on this game.

If ever there was a reason to jailbreak my PS3, this was is. Besides sony being assholes and taking out Other O.S.
Ok a debate rose up in gamefaqs about whether you should play VF5 Final Showdown with a pad. Scoff. You shouldn’t play any fighting game with a pad, especially not VF. Do you really want to try to do Akuma’s air fireballs with a pad or his** Raging Demon** with a shitty pad? HELL No!! It’s an excercise in frustration and why bother. It’s a hundred times easier with an arcade stick. Go through Super** Street Fighter 4’s** combo trials with a pad,you will waste days trying to do those combos, the timing is too strict and the control pad is too slow (especially those mushy analog buttons). VF the timing is even more strict and the hit throws require hit confirmation and expert timing. Don’t use a pad unless you are a complete fool. Virtua Fighter 5 is only as hard or as easy as you make it.

Anyway, I challenged this idiotic pad player ( JETLIAN ) to a match in VF5 since he supposedly knew so much and pad was so awesome. Look at what happens. You will lol.

Capcom got caught red handed with the chars , they got exposed and lowered the cost to 20 dollars (my Opinion) i figured they were gonna charge 5 each kinda like jill and shuma for marvel which are pointless chars although i love jill

you don’t get banned for using hacked dlc chars.
you get banned for using modded consoles that allow you to copy games and play hacked isos.
and it’s not your account/gamertag that gets banned, its your console.
iirc…

I would really like to know if bannings are actually happening or if these are just empty threats brought on by a fist-shaking Capcom.

So when did Capcom’s TOS become a law exactly? News to me.

Go see how well end user license agreements hold up in court. They’re usually thrown out the window.

End user license agreements are not laws and for good reason. I can’t sell you a VCR and tell you that you have to agree to only play Disney movies on it otherwise I’ll revoke your rights to use it and seek damages. They don’t hold up in courts. All they can do is revoke the services they provide to you for following them (I.E. PSN access, XBL Access, Capcom Unity, Customer Support, Warranty etc…).

It’s not a law.

Well that was oddly off topic and douchebaggy.

As random as that post is.

…lol.

and again…
capcom wont ban anybody!!!
microsoft is going to ban them because they are using modded consoles!!!
why dont you get this???

Ok so basically ToS is pointless for the most part.

Would this have any defense then outside of online play, such as a tourney?

TO preference.

Sponsored tourneys such as EVO will obviously not have modded systems of any sort.

This is common knowledge.

Huge sponsored tourney were rocking modded Wii for brawl (so they had crazy alt colors theme).

ToS is basically what you have to respect to keep the product under the warranty of the constructor/seller.
if a modded console explode and take half a block of new york city, sony/microsoft/nintendo isnt at faul.

the hacking for brawl wasn’t anywhere near in the same vein as hacking for SFxT.

modding stage textures and characters is fine and dandy since it doesn’t change core mechanics of game(unless you’re changing legal stages into something completely different).

Plus, homebrew channel has a very VERY low chance of bricking your wii.

Since HAL was evil enough to give us a complete game; there’s no need to take the initiative and hack your Wii to unlock over 10 characters.

The last part you said was what I’ve been saying for the past few pages.

Yeah HAL right, what a bunch of dumbass, selling full game ha ha. This buisness plan is so 90’s.
Hacked xbox get the same chance to a RROD as Legit xbox.
Same as hacked ps3 still YLOD just as much as “legit ps3” which remind me that my legit ps3 just YLOD after 5 years of good use TT.

Hacking done right has low chance to brick your console.

for the last part, consider it me approving what you said then ^^.

So even though a tourney involves money, it would still be allowed?

I’ll pay for characters over costumes any day of the week. Costumes are a joke to me, never bought them and never will.

Also I’m enjoying the game; so much to learn I haven’t touched half the characters. 6 months will add more life to the game when the new characters are added. Also sucks to he anyone not having fun with this game.

PS I love gems and support all tournaments with them.

I was the individual that has played this guy and i would say it puts every individual at a disadvantage towards playing in tournaments when they decide to release the characters. so the way i think of it as $10-20 a tournament, a lot of individuals that crack the system equals a less chance of winning

TO preference.

When it comes down to it… That is… if the tourney isn’t sponsored.
