No you don’t want to substantiate yourself. Or more accurately you can’t.
LMAO!
Hmm… it’s interesting that you have that opinion, because mobile gaming is a haven for the freemium model. There is a way to do freemium right, imo, but there are a whole load of crooked apps on the market which try to soak the player constantly and inconvenience them to the point where they are willing to spend money in order to overcome progression failures that were created by design.
That said, this is comparing apples and oranges. The mobile market is completely different than the console market. It’s free for mobile devs to patch their apps, and they generally have an interest in keeping daily active users (DAU), as they may directly monetize them through in-app purchases or through cross promotion deals. Console developers live by the review, franchise, and brand loyalty, so they don’t have as much interest in constant title updates. If there’s a catastrophic issue, almost all of them will patch, but they’re not in the business of giving away content unless there is a good reason (see MK9s compatibility patch goodies for all users (which was awesome)).
Im usually against any form of piracy / hacking but for this game . I will make a exception . if capcom are so piss about this , they just have to make real dlc instead to hide content in the game . I do not see why we , consumers , should be honnest to capcom while this compagnie isn’t honnest at all at us . I still have the bad taste of ‘’ spectator mode is impossible in mvsc3 vanilla but possible in a expention pack’’ in my mouth
edit : Im piss for every xbox 360 players that can’t have nice things like 2v2 for no good reason at all .
how is it an unfair advantage? do you think the characters aren’t balanced? like we saw in that Jack vs Hugo video it comes down to the player not the character
It takes about 5 min to unban your gamertag AND console, so why not play them online? Truth is flashed xbox is winning in this situation.
Nah.
This is Global Thermonuclear War.
Have you seen any of Combo beast recent videos last time I checked he was on a 24 game win streak just stomping on people with jack.
theres a couple of videos here where he is a little better but if you can find any of the more recent ones check them out its perfect after perfect.

Man the rage at this game is really disappointing. There are a few legitimate things to be mad about, but it seems most of the anger is directed (poorly) at the silly issues:
Silly complaints:
-
No unlockable characters - This is a merely a gamer preference. They could have made it so that Akuma and Orge were unlocked after you completed the story mode. Would that have made it a better game? Not really, but if you like that kind of thing maybe you think so. That’s your opinion.
-
The DLC characters should not have been on the disc. Does it make any difference whether they put it on the disc or whether they made you download it at a later date? Having it on the disc means that you don’t have to waste time and bandwidth downloading the characters. There’s really nothing to complain about here unless your issue is the next point.
-
If the DLC characters were on the disc that means they were complete, which means I shouldn’t have to pay to unlock them. The problem with that is that Capcom only made those characters because they expected to receive the extra $20 for developing them. If their option was to offer them for free or not at all they would have left the game at 40 characters (which is already a huge roster. I can’t believe people are complaining that 40 characters is not enough). This is really just an issue of people wanting something for free. The offer on sale was a game with the 40 characters that are available (again the biggest roster on release of any recent fighting game).
-
Offering DLC in general is just a way for greedy companies like Capcom to take more of our money. Okay then don’t buy it. The way I see and the way many other people see it (probably including a lot of the people bitching about it) is that DLC = more content = more fun = more money. There are many characters in the DLC that I want to play, and at the same time I still enjoy playing a majority of the characters that came with the game on day 1. DLC is a fact of life; it’s business not greed. Capcom wants more money? Okay well you want more content for free. Well you’re both greedy. You both want more from the other side.
Legitimate complaints:
-
Couch coop was advertised, but isn’t available on xbox 360. Gamers were led to believe they would be able to play with their friends against people online. There’s no excuse for promising that functionality and then not delivering. The excuse they’ve given about Microsoft not supporting it is a bad attempt to pass the buck as other games (e.g. MK9) do support that feature.
-
Online play causes the sound to stop functioning properly. I think it is reasonable to expect some lag when playing online; it’s also reasonable to expect that it won’t cause the game’s sound and therefore a good part of the game’s experience to totally dissolve.
-
Glitches/Infinites. It’s also reasonable for gamers to expect that the game will function properly and things like Megaman’s “so long I’m going to the moon” glitch or Akuma’s “float through air” glitch won’t occur. I also think that it’s reasonable for games to not have infinite combos or ridiculously unbalanced characters. To be fair, these are things which can easily, and likely will be fixed. And put away your cynicism on this one; it’s going to be free. If they charge to have glitches in the game fixed I’ll eat my shoe and join you in blasting them about that.
-
If the characters are going to be on the disc, then why should we have to wait 6 months to access them? I guess they may also want to do some balancing in the game when they release the characters and make that one patch, but I still can’t see a good reason why we should have to wait especially when hackers have already gotten access to them. It’s just punishing people who didn’t hack the game.
Just me personally:
- WTF did they do to megaman?
- People in this forum need to learn the difference between “your” & “you’re.” The word “your” indicates ownership (e.g. Your mom is ugly and fat.) The word “you’re” is a contraction of the words “you” and “are” (e.g. You’re fat and ugly.) And “yore” means a time long in the past (e.g. Your mom has been fat and ugly since the days of yore.)
edit: added another “legit” complaint
12 more characters added to a roster of a fighting game does a lot more than add to the “fun” factor.
It changes the meta and possibly mechanics(glitches with specific characters).
It boggles my mind that so many characters will be placed as DLC in the first place.
Capcom telling you, “It’s okay if you don’t buy because you can still face people online who did! :D”
When they are just giving you the incentive to buy the characters…
P.S. 40 is not a lot of characters. Naruto has over 70. Get on their level.
You don’t buy everything on the disk when you buy a disc numb nuts. You buy what is advertised.
Capcom told you exactly what you should be able to have access to and outside of the multiplayer problem on live, That’s exactly what you got, just because YOU data minded the disc and discover that there is more on the that capcom plans to sell you later isn’t capcom fault.
Is it lame, extremely. But you bought what has been advertised to you not the secret characters on disc that they plan to sell you in a few months no matter how lame it is or what you want to think about it.
Did y’all get mad when they said toy in the box of cereal and you had to pay to get and send of 3-5 UPC and pay shipping? Do you get mad when they show you a price of something on sale and it turns out that’s it’s only with a 100$ mail in rebate?
This is the same principle, just a play on words.
My main point is, pay for the disk sure. But you only pay for what is advertised to you. Are people this upset about area locked off in mmo’s that are finished but not completely?
I feel It’s unfair that the hackers are getting in trouble because they unlocked something on a disk that they paid for. The rest of you got exactly what you thought you were getting and what was advertised to you.
Mannn i wanna use blanka… this is lame!!!
people. start putting the quotes in the OP of this thread in your SFxT DLC videos. they become invincible to capcop spamming.
With that mentality, Megaman, Pac-Man, Toro, Kuro, and Cole should be allowed at tourneys…oh wait…
So how you feel about SFxT costing only 40$ on Vita with all the characters?
40 is more than MVC had, it’s more than SF4 had even after you count the characters in Super, it’s more than Guilty Gear, it’s more than any of the SSB games, it’s more than SCV, it’s more than KOF XIII…you named 1 game that has more…I’m not impressed.
12 more characters changes the meta-game. Sure it does you have to learn 12 more match ups, but you still don’t have to buy the characters in order to do that. If you don’t want to buy them that’s still your choice. I didn’t buy Jill and Shuma and I have no problem with other people using them.
Pfff Naruto may have over 70 but they combined the old show with the new show… there are several characters that are done 3 times… (naruto and sasuke). Not to mention the gameplay isnt anything special… that game is fan service… capcom isnt fan service
Well that’s up to the people who run the tourneys. I wouldn’t worry personally about facing any of those characters even though I play on xbox.
because these characters are available universally…oh wait.
