I am getting too hot…
Really… people are advocating buying and altering their their product (Capcom thanks you regardless!) while breaking their ToS. I don’t care or believe either side is right—people are free to their own opinion, but if you don’t agree with what Capcom is doing, don’t support their shit by not buying it or playing it
lol what? I bought the game due to things they advertised ahead of time. Pre-ordered it, in fact. After I opened it, and found out that couch play wasn’t on it, and the DLC was already on the disc (that fact not advertised), I was NOT allowed to return it. So no, you need to really stop and think for a second here.
licensing fees, fine print, court documents, all this talk and i wonder how many law classes you’ve taken? Where did you pass the bar? How does Capcom’s dick taste?
and you obviously have no idea how a corporation is supposed to treat their customers.
I shouldn’t need to read fine print. You show me a commercial with a playable character (TWO of them), and I sure as fuck ain’t reading no fine print to look for them. I guess now whenever I buy a capcom game, I should look at ALL the fine print for every little detail… Because that makes much more sense.
bitch please, you’re giving me fucking financial advice? Suck my fat rich white dick.
you do also realize that EULA’s aren’t 100% law, right? Also, you know it’s possible to install and play software/games without agreeing to the EULA, right?
RIGHT?
c’mon Ultradavid-in-training, feed me more grade 9 legal advice you learned.
Sir … i have to thank you! Im loving the characters and free stuff. But 6 months early… LMAO. We should all chip in and get you a hooker!
post like the one above only insults the posters intelligence…as they completely ignore logic completely and use unnecessary fowl language(I know I curse but gezz that’s ridiculous) .
I won’t buy it, heck I didn’t even buy SFXT UMvC3 or the SSF4, however I am playing these games.
I wish you would read your post and realize how stupid and juvenile you sound. Also during your rant you did little to support your rant besides for curse and make yourself seem infinitely less intelligent than the person you were trying to belittle. I award you no points and may god have mercy on your soul.
What peeves me is that some tournaments are already running side tournaments with hacked machines to make these characters playable.
Certain places are basically running the game twice. One with the DLC, one without. I know some peeps who are already planning to unofficially bring the hacked version to EVO.
It bums me that people are getting a 6 month head start, but IMO this is segregating the community and will only harm the regular version of the game in the long run. (till the vita char. are released.)
Sick burn, I’m stealing that.
Loving Sakura atm.
First off, nothing I said was in defense of Capcom nor their business practices, it’s common sense based around the agreement you took. As a matter of fact I told you how you could take a stand against Capcom which is directly opposed to defending them.
And I havent taken law classes, but I have been a part of business contracts in game development, and therefore was educated about how it relates to the game development industry so that we could all make sure we don’t do anything that could get us in trouble.
Furthermore if you actually read what I posted in this topic, you would see I didn’t back their business practices, and gave examples of both good and bad business practices. Japanese developers are known for being in a “rut” right now and what Capcom is doing is actually a perfect example of things you should not do. They could have used their exclusivity deals to allow them to get past the patch limits, etc, in which case they wouldnt be having any of these problems.
But this has no bearing to anything we’ve been discussing since I was discussing legalities. But instead of accepting the truth of the matter, you resort to trash talking since you have no leg to stand on. Real sign of maturity, and a sign that even you know your argument has no merit.
Once again, any time you don’t read fine print your asking for problems. Not just in games, but in life. Anyone who has experience in life should know if you skip past the small text (and most people do) it could bite you in the ass in the future. You can attempt to blame others all you want but you should have known what you were getting to when you skipped it, and if you didn’t? Well now you know.
In case you didn’t notice, I said many times now it’s a different story if you don’t play online, but as soon as you went online it’s enforcable. As well as to hack the game you are messing with the encrypted data, which is another way you are breaking the law beyond the EULA.
ummm maybe you could point some of these instances out? I swear all the time, it’s how I am. My vernacular doesn’t change my points. I could care less whether you like potty mouths or not.
and here’s a little tidbit to show that technically what was done (unlocking DLC characters), is completely legal:
do a little research on EULA’s before declaring them to be the bible I must now follow. So no, it doesn’t matter whether I go online or offline. EULA’s get argued all the time, and STILL are being argued as to whether they’re legally binding or not.
You do know someone can make a Ryu lookalike.
Instead of Ryu, his name would be Uyr.
Instead of Shoryuken… he does nekuyrohs and it would be legit.
Just saying.
Damn y’all still going hard lol…I understand people are upset about this and as long as they don’t have the means to have access they will remain upset. Unfortunately as I sta Ted b4 1.big Fugg up by ,2 we honestly are breaking some terms of agreement 3 I won’t play online personally (why go that far) 4 capcom can’t break that Sony contract for 50 people that are playing online with unlocked characters makes no good business sence 5 get over it it’s done one person makes a thread askin one question y’all turn it into the us senate debate
Once again, that’s a different story once you go online, because even without the whole reverse engineering discussion you are breaking the eula in other places, not to mention Microsofts as well.
But since you are doing some google work just to try to prove your point, it’s funny how typing that in to google and finding the FULL comment gives you this:
“The DMCA specifically provides for reverse engineering of software for interoperability purposes, so there was some controversy as to whether software license agreement clauses which restrict this are enforceable. The 8th Circuit case of Davidson & Associates v. Jung determined that such clauses are enforceable, following the Federal Circuit decision of Baystate v. Bowers.”
It’s seriously HILARIOUS that the line you used to try to prove your point right, was the exact one that proves your point wrong. It clearly says in the part you deleted that such clauses are enforceable! The fact that you deleted the rest shows that you know your wrong yet you still argue the fact?

Lol had to do it.
Yall two carry on man:tup:
What fowl language? I ignore logic?
So if you know people that have it why not play with them instead of being a hater? Or are they pointing at you saying you have cooties and won’t let you touch their arcade stick?and Segregating the community I think not, honestly we all have the means to make it possible just some will some won’t and if people do play at EVO with unlocked copies who cares its their business.
wasn’t your post but that sovi3t dudes post…i should have just quoted to save the confusion…
lol you’re crying cuz i cursed? Holy shit, old SRK is dead. Bitchmade people left and right. But I guess I should be careful what I post, never know whose mother is reading their posts over their shoulder right now.
