Don’t bother,
Intellectual Property is all smoke and mirrors.
You come to me and now you want to back out?
Grow a pair.
You throw the excuse of “Omg, your getting gems! Your getting (insert scrub-friendly mechanic)! Be happy capcom isn’t [demoralizing action] your [body part]”
Your a dime-a-dozen… I bet you feel Capcom blaming microsoft for couch play not working is ok as well?
We werent talking about local coop, and I’ve mentioned a number of times that you might actually have a case when it comes to that.
But the part that’s silly is how people keep claiming “we own everything on the disk”… that might hold up if you only use it offline, but the second you go online, and again when you patch, your agreeing to both MS and Capcom’s terms. Which makes those claims nothing but talk. And makes the fact that ppl are suggesting that others hack the chars and play online make even less sense.
People can call that “white knight” if they want, but that’s not defending Capcom or anyone, all it actually is, is reading the small print and a little bit of common sense. There was a disclaimer for a reason… and people know better than to challenge licensing agreements that they chose to agree to for a reason.
You agreed, case closed. Telling others to break the agreement does not give you any more of a case.
Where the fuck are you finding those words in my last post? Am I typing in English still? I’ll be right back, I have to buy a new keyboard because apparently you can’t read what this one types out.
Thats like saying Haggar was advertised too o_O
you can’t say a CG trailer is significant poof the characters were going to be in the game…well you can but its nonsense. Cody and Guy just fit in that trailer well, you had cameo stuff all over that trailer…and in later ones as well. Point is, If it was an Actual trailer like the one that was shown the same day…you know the SDCC 2011’ trailer…actually showing debut gameplay of Dhalsim, Poison, Steve and Howarang…that is concrete advertisement. you can go out on a limb and say…they may have been teased but…thats irrelevant at this point…but one can draw parallels to megaman and pac-man being teased in the announcement trailer…

There are other games beyond fighting games? Yes, but that wasn’t what we were talking about…you were talking about super smash bros. melee, comparing the content of that game to the content of street fighter x tekken. Are you retarded?
The whole shit is plain retarded. I was hyped got the game saw all this trash, fam hit me up cause peeps was using bryan fury/cody team and that was it for me.
Capcom epic fail w/the fighters right now. It’s cool cause I see your strat and I aint even that mad. I just know not to buy the first sku. Next time around i will buy after dlc is out or unlocked etc. They alomst got me with MVC3 and sf4 but i was lucky to have fam who had the upgraded versions.
The DLC is getting way out of hand but if we keep buying the first skus they gonna keep doing the same shit since they’ve been on this multi-sku plan. So no more for me I should have known when i first booted up MVC3 and saw what 38 characters and in MVC2 we had what 58 characters. MVC3 we should have had 100 peeps from the jump with DLC giving us maybe 10 more people.
Damn shame this is what its come to. I appluad the tech savy peeps who are getting their money worth. I ain’t mad cause you figured out something that i didn’t or can’t. Just like Im not mad at my fav football player or basketball player getting paid cause they can do something better than me.
Dont hate the players
Hate the game…company that is.
Capcom i will play your games but I will not buy another fighter day one.
How dare we take a stand, that’s just outrageous. Glory to Capcom!!!
Any legal document should give a chance to append it from either side. If I am given a contract to sign in any other legal aspect, I am free to make changes and requests, and they are free to refuse. Making me sign a contract WITHOUT INSPECTING THE PRODUCT and then having companies refuse to allow me to exchange a product after inspecting it and not finding it to my liking…sounds kinda dodgy to me.
I didn’t agree. I agreed to purchase a game with couch co-op and Guy and Cody playable from day one. I was advertised this. They delivered something completely different.
You didn’t graduate did you…and I ain’t talking about college
or high schoool
or grade school
BRILLIANTLY SAID. The problem isn’t with the fact they’re doing this the way they are. Its that they are doing it again, like they think we’re stupid. I had no problem buying SFII, and Super SFII, and Champion edition, because back then you didn’t have patching or DLC. And then times changed, and TWO decades went by.
When SFIV came out and they fucked us with DLC, I let it slide, and we bitched as a community to move on and get with the times. And then UMvC3 pulled the same shit, and yet again Capcom claimed they just couldn’t make a game that allowed DLC. And the community demanded they get with the times. And how did they get with the times? By giving us the DLC on the disk, but then telling us we would have to pay for it later, even though it was done now, and that YET AGAIN they were releasing a game that would need to require more payments in the short term future. The content was obviously already done, and paid for. They are now reaping what they sew, as people are avoiding buying their games on day one, for fear of DLC that comes out moments after the launch.
Seriously, MANY times in the last year they did this, rumours about ANOTHER MvC3 game are whispered, and they fucked us on day one, and we’re supposed to just let it slide?
naaaaa, if losers like the white knights we have in this thread dont wanna have a backbone, thats fine. Me, I think I will keep on fighting for whats right, rather than just laying down and taking it from a corporation.
This thread has been entertaining me for the past hours, thanks to all of you for that.
Unless I grossly misunderstand your post, the logical explanation is as follows: Duh.
You can buy the game or you can not buy the game that’s the choice. If you want to negotiate some different terms with Capcom/Microsoft then go ahead and try. Just like any product out there you can take it or leave it.
Cody and Guy were not advertised as day 1 playable characters, so if you bought the game under the presumption that they were you were just wrong, not misled. Now the complaint about the couch coop is a completely legitimate one. So I feel like you should be able to return the game on the basis that you were misled about that. Still trying to pretend like all the locked DLC characters were part of the deal is inaccurate.
I think we should take the discussion somewhere slightly different now; COME AT ME, PC = PIRACY HOES!
I disagree. I don’t care that that’s not a legal argument, my view is that if somebody paid for something then they can do whatever they like to and with it if they’re prepared for the consequences. I’m not talking about intellectual property and saying that I think people own the rights to Ryu and Ken as abstract entities just because they bought SFxT or whatever, just that I think they paid for a disc of stuff they can do whatever they like with if they’re prepared to accept that they could be challenged by the authors and whoever else. Some people will get fun out of loading the game and playing through it ‘as intended’. Others will get fun out of ripping known and unknown data off the disc to use for their entertainment. Others will get kicks out of using it as an expensive coffee coaster. I don’t care what people feel justified in doing as long as they feel they’re getting their money’s worth out of it.
Could you repeat that… but this time… actually have a point you’re trying to make?
What your doing isn’t taking a stand, its contradicting your own actions. If you were taking a stand you would not have bought the game in the first place… as well as you wouldn’t have agreed to their terms. You can claim “you didn’t know about the agreement” but the only reason for that is because you did not read it, which is nobodys fault but your own.
If I was going to take a stand against Capcom, doesnt it make me look like an idiot if I go out and buy their game, agree to licensing terms that say: They can amend the agreement at any time, if you don’t agree u must stop playing, can terminate your account at any time, determine what is appropriate, you may not adapt the software, and that** they retain all rights to the media software and the game including any characters items and materials**.
You call agreeing to those terms then arguing about it taking a stand?
You obviously have no idea about how licensing agreements work if you think YOU are free to make changes after agreeing. You are free to amend it, which means you would no longer be able to play the game, but that’s all.
You did agree. You agreed as soon as you went online with the game. Just because you didn’t read the small print doesnt mean you didnt agree. Once again your ignoring that fact. And nowhere did it say Guy and Cody were available day 1.
Those questions should be asked to you considering your arguing with something you agreed to. That’s a sure fire way to run in to financial issues in life.
Again, read the licensing agreement. I pasted a line from it above. As soon as you went online you agreed that you don’t own those things. And this can easily be proven. Now if they don’t go online, like I said earlier they can technically do w/e they want, but as soon as ppl go online they can’t say “I own what is on the disk”.

@OP: MY thoughts?
good, I hope people keep exposing Capcom as frauds.
I’ll tell u what when my crew shows up I’ll record some matches I’m not really good with all the lingo to explain it all that thoroughly unfortunately but I play with some pretty well good friends that are training me one should be pro used to train with clockwork and potter and combofiend but anyway I just made a page to send some cam footage too so I’ll put some real game Bryan up today or tomorrow
lol…my point is the crap you say doesn’t make any sense
so take off all your clothes?
Again, read what I just said: I disagree and I don’t particularly care that it’s not a response which would go down well in court. I’ve already explained why: if people feel they haven’t gotten their money’s worth out of it then I think they should find a way to get that value. Whether that’s hacking the disc or playing frisbee with it is up to them.
