I heard that they stopped doing that free one month specifically because of that little loophole in their system. Or maybe it only works so many times per console? Idk its just that alot of my friends that did that had to stop doing it eventually.
Bans on XBL are tied to the console. Same for PS3. Not sure why someone thought you can change make a new PSN and be unbanned…lol.
yeah, but Xbox bans are generally only brought out at one time of year (around the holidays), so its not a HUGE issue, I suppose.
I won’t be doing this. Even though I pre-ordered the game based on the Final Fight crew being fucking advertised, and now have to wait to play with Guy and Cody.
How much longer will people fuck Capcom on this issue, before they realize how bad they fucked up? We have to wait for Vita to release the game to get characters we should already have? Wow, did Sony literally lick every drop of sperm and sweat from every Capcom dick to get such magical treatment? 360 got fucked with DLC characters by not getting extra’s, then fucked again by being told we have to wait for a fucking handheld version of the game to come out??? Suck a giant dick, gimme my fucking content assholes. It’s already ready, already there, stop letting your marketing and business fuck heads suggest ideas to your games.
Sony probably didn’t have to do much. Seems Microsoft couldn’t care less about the exclusives. Also if someone is doing the hack on ps3 aren’t they less likely to be banned? I remember reading something around the time of the ps3 being jailbroken that Sony cannot detect if a console is hacked like the 360 and that the people can even unban themselves. I don’t if its true, I didn’t really look into it.
I wish people would stop creating completely bogus analogies. It would be more accurate with your example to say you were sold the hamburger with the cheese secretly hidden between the burger and the bottom of the bun, so you don’t even know it’s there when you take it away. Then you are mysteriously expected to eat around all the cheese without finding out about it until X amount of days/weeks/months later when they finally tell you the cheese was there (fucking duh), and you can eat it if you give them some more money. THAT is silly, not complaining about disc-locked content. We should all complain about disc-locked content, especially when it’s handled like this.
I applaud those people who have unlocked the extra characters - that time and money spent developing those extra characters was time and money which wasn’t spent on making sure core features of the main game worked as they should have, or including key features from other fighting games which should be STANDARD by now (HDR button mapping for example, yadda yadda).
More than that, I applaud those people that are using the hacked characters online. If it pisses people off to play against them, they should hack the game themselves to not miss out.
Sure, tell people to do something to get bans and be out money lol.
So because theres ppl goin out robbin banks, and you could use some more money, should you rob banks too just so you don’t miss out?
I’m still stewing over Svennson telling the Capcom fans and Fighting Game Community that we jumped to conclusions about DLC. Then proceeded to give us the middle finger, and tell us exactly what we had concluded. You think making the characters $20 matters, when I already have them, paid for them already, and can’t play them until a console I will never own launches their version of the game? Since when do handhelds get preferential treatment? Are we playing Evo on Vita’s now?
As I stated in GD, this entire issue has literally made me blacklist Capcom. I refuse to buy any more of their titles. No Lost Planet, no Resident Evil, no Asura’s Wrath. Sure, I will buy the occasional fighter, but I will damn sure be keeping an eye out for how it handles DLC. But aside from that, you get none of my money anymore. Even Microsoft, in it’s infinite greed, allowed Halo to have the occasional free DLC maps. I’m surprised Capcom didn’t require paid for DLC to unlock controller configurations.
When people asked for Japanese devs to take a few notes from Western devs, I was hoping it would be the gameplay aspects, and not the ass backwards business fuckups and corporate policies that fuck over their loyal fanbase.
Your analogy sucks. This entire thread is full of ass backwards analogies. This is more like:
I bought a car, and there is AC and windows and a radio in it. But the guy at the dealership didn’t tell me I had to pay extra to use those. So now I have a radio that won’t turn on and the windows won’t roll down, and the AC won’t turn on, even though I paid for those things, and they’re RIGHT FUCKING THERE. Then I find out that if I press the knob on the radio extra hard, it turns on. You fucking better believe I am going to be turning that radio on whenever I feel like it now.
This is like buying a painting and being told you can’t look at the corners of the painting yet, because they’re going to sell the painting in another city and you haven’t paid for those corners yet, just the middle and the top.
Remind me again how I am stealing what I already own, and what is already on my disc. Go ask the MPAA and RIAA how well they’re doing with protecting IPs they don’t want getting out.
Refer to the licensing agreement you agreed to by accepting the patch and playing online.
If that’s true, you should be able to prove it. If you can prove that, take them to court. You shouldn’t have anything to worry about then, no?
People are responsible for their own actions, I couldn’t give a shit. I said “IF it pisses people off to play against them” - if somebody gets mad that they’re being confronted by the fact that they’re playing an incomplete package when they fight some other online players then they should do whatever they like to make themselves feel better about it. They were the ones that were sold an incomplete product. They own the shit on that disc. They got cheated, and Capcom sure as shit isn’t going to apologise for it.
I thought I’d said I was sick of these meaningless/inaccurate horseshit analogies.
Why would I want to waste money and time on that? By the time a court case even finished, the DLC would be out. Seems much easier to just use my hacked 360 instead, no? What fucked up world do you live in?
my thoughts exactly. It’s obvious he doesn’t quite get it. But what can I expect, when judging by his avatar, Thanos is empowered by the Dumbfinite Gauntlet
Yes, I’m super hyped for quick combo slots. Give it to me now why won’t ya?(sarcasm)
Damn, can you even see the light from where you are?
I don’t care about gems… due to me not giving two fucks about a temporary boost when there’s more important things on the table yet to be realized(More characters which changes meta).
You can flail in your little kiddie pool all you want… just don’t push those pathetic antics onto others.
I would love to see someone take capcom to court over…what $20? lolz…“but but the morals”…is it really worth the time and money? I could see if you was serious and you had alot of people supporting you(like a majority of the Capcom FCG)…lolz…I can’t see it.
Actually you only own what was advertised on the disk since there is a licensing agreement with it.
Once again, refer to my last post. If you own what’s on the disk then you should have no problem proving it. So why are you wasting the time complaining here instead of taking it to court? Your talking about “meaningless analogies” as your making meaningless and meritless claims.
Why would you waste money and time on that? Because it’s a lot more constructive use of time than it is to complain about it here. You shot your argument in the foot anyway, If you were really worried about money you wouldn’t be taking a hacked 360 online since that costs money.
Besides, the point was you can’t even prove that you own everything on the disk. You know that as well as I do. So your claims don’t even have merit.
Ok so a simple question to that would be:
What is advertised on the disc and when exactly does the advertising stop? Before or after I purchase it?
Damn…
U got some sort of White Knight Syndrome?
The way some of yall are trying to SugerCoat this confilict and contradict every legitimate complaint about this confilct is sad.
CapCocks are so far up your ass your spitting Hadoukens.
Capcom fucked up this time; deal with it.
Game is not bad…but they fucked up the way they tried to distrubute the rest of the cast.
well actually from what they advertised(minus the couch co-op on 360) was everything you got initially…if you check the japanese official site…thats really more then enough. they talk about the features and what characters are available initially…
generally there are no real unlockables in this game except for titles so when it comes down to it…we got what we paid for…and we all knew about the data mined stuff around day -3 so if you still got the game…you knew full well what you were getting yourself into…no one else is to blame…at least thats how i see it…I knew what i was buying on the 6th…the Collectors Edition…
Not many of us are lawyers, but I imagine that this doesn’t hold up seeing as how local coop in online was advertised and isn’t available on 360. Also, I heard once that none of these licensing agreements have actually been tested in court - is there any truth to that? I would think that, under the right circumstances, the entire software licensing aspect of owning the right to use only a small percentage of data on the disc you bought wouldn’t hold up under scrutiny.
I don’t think there’s any case to this, but I’m curious; does anyone with any legal training care to comment?
well actually when they had initially announced the characters for the Vita people felt left out and initially in rage over the vita…then when they realized it they said “make their debut on the Vita” they were skeptical on how long they would have to wait…it still wasn’t an issue if you would have to pay for it or not…This all changed when people data mined the game and found the vita content+all the additional future DLC on the disk, then thats when shit got blown up…thats how it exactly happened…now we have threads like this running about.
yeah morally its bad that Capcom did this…but i honestly don’t give a damn anymore as long as “eventually” i get to have my content then I don’t have a huge problem with it…Capcom is a fucking company…and im its consumer…I give them money in exchange for content I want…If you got the time and energy to call people names then why don’t you try to get people behind you and try and confront Capcom about it…if not…don’t call no one out on it anymore…
I really don’t know what to say to you anymore. I would have a comeback but you seem to be doing nothing more than turning rage into words, so there isn’t anything to argue here. All I’m trying to say is that sure, they fucked up with the characters, but by making at least some things free whether or not they are crucial to the game they are just barely avoiding fucking up even harder than they already have. Also don’t form thoughts for people. I never said I was excited about the gems nor have I been “pushing those antics onto others”. So while were comparing each other to children using insults, why don’t you go take a coloring book and sit in the corner for awhile?
why are you so obsessed with court? It was already explained why that is pointless and a waste of time. Suing is not the solution to everything. Not to mention since when would my poor ass be able to afford to take on a corporation? I ask you again WHAT MAGICAL FUCKING WORLD DOES YOUR DUMBASS LIVE IN. I want to live where court cases are solved quickly and easily and cost no money at all. And where every little issue seems to need a judge and jury to solve.
You want advertised on disk? How about the Hugo/Poison vs King/Marduk trailer? The one that has Cody and Guy walking out at the end. Would that be ‘proof’ enough for you, or would you like me to carve dumbass in your forehead at a later date?
I have like 8 360’s. Between red lights and e74 errors, when I get a new working one, I tinker with the old. I was never worried about money, I was worried about the principles. Gaming companies are now releasing 50-75% completed games (look up leaked EA memo’s on the subject), then charging us at a later date for features they feel we would most likely like to have. We now have a game that for all intensive purposes, has already been paid for and completed. THE PROOF IS RIGHT BEFORE OUR VERY EYES, ON THE DISK WE ALL OWN. So if I don’t buy their DLC, do I still own the content? Yes, I most certainly do. Do they lose money or gain money by me not paying for DLC and not playing those characters? Do they lose or gain money by me not paying for the DLC and playing those characters? In both cases, no. They only lose money in the sense I MAY have paid for that content at a later time.
holy shit you have no clue what you are even arguing anymore, Spyridumb. Gamefaqs.com is thattaway ------------>
