Against hulk instant overhead M is 2 hits and will go right through H. Honestly I actually really like this matchup, just don’t do random ball because he can stand H it at most distances before it hits him or hits him twice.

So with all the talk that we’ve been having recently about a possible new update for UMVC3, I started thinking about the ways in which I would buff Shuma-Gorath, and I came up with a neat idea for a brand new attack for the god of chaos. Tell me what you guys think.

***Soul Eye ***- It’s a strategic special move. Shuma-Gorath fires a slow-moving, short-reaching projectile, and if it hits the opponent, an eyeball starts following him and looking at him. For the duration of the eyeball, the opponent will have an indicator that shows all of his controller inputs on him. It would be kinda like the input display in training mode, only that it is a small icon that appears above the opponent, and shows even when you superjump. It would be like a tricky way of instantly seeing what your opponent is doing, and it should serve for strategic value, kinda like literally “being in your opponent’s mind.”

I think it would also fit very well with the whole “eye” theme, too.

I like the idea, but it’s bad enough that the Capcom AI reads inputs lol.

I think move would be best as a special counter almost like Ammy’s but with a different mechanic.

Opponent projectiles would open a teleport space and shuma could move through it.

how about just a jumping H that is aimed forward?

If I could have one thing its probably either a double jump or that air shuma balls hitbox is so big you cant throw it or fuck with it.

that would be nice. It would be great to have an air OS that doesn’t get slaughtered by others like Nova, Magneto or Wolvie. Also increase hitbox of all mystic smashes, and make his front air dash faster and move farther.

I also feel like devitalization was a half baked idea. Its cool to counter ryu, akuma, nova, and others with one hit-projectiles, but eventually the opponent gets the point and it just seems meh…I feel it would be awesome if it absorbed multiple hit projectiles (maybe up to 3 or 4 hits) and doubled as a teleport…as in once you devitalize a projectile, with a button press you teleport to one of 3 tracking locations (similar to dormammu’s teleport locations). They could even use existing resources…just take the animation at the end of chaos dimension where he crawls out of the dimension and change it to be faster, smaller, etc for use in the teleport.

Or combo after Chaos Dimension without using Viewtiful God Hand.

Oh, Capcom should hire me to handle Shuma-Gorath’s buffs. I would fix him right up. And fix him good, with just a few changes.

the problem with devitalization is that it’s activation is just too slow to absorb the one-hit projectiles you really need to absorb like magnetic blast, wesker gun shot, etc.

It should be that if it successfully counters a projectile you instantly recover. If it doesn’t it has the long animation as usual

I would fix Devitalization by having it take one full meter bar from the opponent and giving it to you if you manage to parry a projectile.

If you think “too good,” then consider that parrying a projectile with it is very difficult and risky as it is. I mean, the parry is pretty much pointless right now, you know. If it stole a whole meter bar from the opponent, it would be a “huge risk, huge reward” kind of move, which would give it a purpose for existing.

Does Hyper Mystic Smash have any use at all? Why give a character a totally ass hyper, it’s so evident it’s useless.

-does more damage than HMR in many situations
-combos in some situations when HMR cant
-stays out for incredibly long period of time while you remain active
-huge durability
-allows for hard tag and state-change hyper cancel shenanigans
-OTG’s
