He should stop going for resets so much when he can kill. I get that he’s fighting 3 tanks. He can still kill a lot more than he currently does. His bnb looks pretty standard though. I’ve been thinking about using his team for fun. I’d prolly use log trap tho
Yeah I thinking the same, for a team that has the combined health of 3.2mil more or less you would think he would do Shumas maximum dmg combos. It seems like he goes for that bnb for a nearly full screen corner carry and saves the hyper so he can do more dmg in the corner after a mix-up.
His game plan is hes going for resets to stock hyper meter so he can do 50/50 situations or nearly unblockable set ups for in coming characters with Rocket Raccoon spring trap and boulder trap,since Shuma builds back meter so quickly the set-up pays for its self.
the BnB I switched to is
cr.MH jump cancel M H up+H stand S into upH H shuma ball, then 1 hit st.M into cr.H into L shuma balls, then S into MMH up+H into M shuma ball, then cross them under and do j. S so you get the reverse screen fly and then do hyper mystic smash. Does about 700K consistantly actually, pretty happy about it
the video is cool but im getting kinda annoyed at how many people are like OMG BEST SHUMA EVER HES SO REAL NOW HOW COME NOBODY PLAYS HIM when various people have been doing this shit for months now
Tono is definitely pretty good and I love his Racoon unblockable but he needs to finish his plate more. I feel that Shuma already does so much damage and that after a DHC, the character should already be dead. Life shouldn’t really matter since Shuma can dish out so much damage solo before a DHC that its not even necessary.

So last night at the ranbats, as I joke I played Shuma may cry (Shuma Dante-Weasel Shot, Vergil) and I have changed my mind.
This team legitimately is so good its retarded. Weasel shot is I think the best assist for shuma i have ever seen. If you guys didn’t know Weasel shot has special hitstun decay that apparently doesnt really affect shuma at all. A guaranteed fuzzy guard set up on an incoming character let me mix them up 2-3 times and then let me do the full 1m shuma corner combo even AFTER I did 2-3 LIGHTS, and an L TK shuma ball. I was so shocked that It still gave me the damage, I am so hyped.
You heard it here, Shuma may cry is legit and is now what I think the best shuma team is.
I really want to make a video of this because the mixups where stupid, and the hitconfirms where SICK

Hmm that sounds pretty cool Angelic. I’ve ran Shuma/Weasle shot before but never Vergil in the mix. Labbing it up might be interesting. Shuma into Sword Loops I’ve done before and its pretty good since Shuma can dish out so much damage as it already and retain the wall bounce during his combos. I don’t know why I’ve never tried Shuma May Cry.
Ive messed around with that team a lot, and I considered maining it, but I have put just too much time into dr strange to not play that guy. I haven’t really tested out weasel shot too much, ill have to try that out. Mystic ray is one of vergil’s/Dante’s best assists also. It functions very similarly to vadjra. Dante can killer bee down from the sky from a super jump height crossup mystic ray. Mystic ray can also function as a normal beam assist and still allows dante to do his combo as it doesn’t scale much. I think its one of virgil’s best assists if not his #1 best. Not only can he use as an otg in his bnb l,m,h,s(call shuma) j.h j.2h (ray otgs)2h 6h Teleport S,H, roundtrip ect…
But it also allows him to combo after high time from a grab or normally during a combo.call shuma 3h, sj, j.m j.h j.s ect
AND it is great for teleport mixups from standard pressure strings, while having the benefit of hitting the whole screen, best of all you can go full derp and just helm breaker call shuma, and if they get hit the ray otgs and you can continue the combo, if they block you get a teleport mixup. So for vergil mystic ray lets him combo off of helm breaker, use as a standard beam, combo after his ground throws/high time, and use as an otg in his bnb.
I agree with you entirely. When I was trying to main shuma I went through all of the point characters and eventually found that wesker/wolverine/vergil worked the best. I picked wolverine because at the time I thought wesker/vergil were too cheap/gay. I knew about the throw stuff but not the otg after helm breaker, should of figured!! The brothers of sparda and the chaos dimension apparently go hand in hand, I think this is my new favorite team and I might move it up to 2nd!
Sup everyone, I’m moreso a Jill layer but I really want to get back to using Shuma-Gorath. Infact, I bought him first in vanila thinking he was going to be fun, but alas, I didn’t enjoy him as much as I should of.
Anyway, I started messing around with Charge partitioning and plinking his dash and it’s pretty difficult, but not as hard as I thought it would be (maybe because I have some experience with Frank frame traps with plinking his dash into Roll Zombie cancels). However my main problem is incorporating this into a match with everything being thrown at me.
Right now, I’m running Shuma: Mystic Ray/ Jill:Arrow Kick/Ammy:Cold Star.
That sounds like a good team already. Both characters benefit from Cold Star like no other. Shuma’s gameplay might be hard to get used to at first but you just have to take it slow with him. He can be quite aggressive if you choose to and if you are rushing in smartly and not mindlessly. Shuma is a character that you have to make smart decisions and you have to take the chances that are there for you.
Yeah combo wise and assist wise the team is elegant, they all benefit each other midscreen combos aren’t really an Damage issue either.
I think the problem I’m having is getting the time to actually rush down and converting raw hits off into combos. For example, If I get a 2M I can perfectly fine convert that into a combo, but if I get an air Mystic Smash hit, I can’t really covert.
I really like the Shuma/Iron man/Vergil synergy, the repulser assist anti push block properties are so good on wake up characters with a TK shuma ball its borderline cheap. TOD all day.
