He’s a pretty good anchor. Chaos dimension is pretty overrated though on anchor. It’s not worth saving the meters imo. The general thing you want to do with shuma on anchor is abuse the hyper mystic smash x factor setup. If you kill a character, as another one comes in, hyper mystic smash to trap them in block stun. Then xfactor and mash out standing heavy mystic smashes to avoid pushblock. Abuse standing m and h mystic smashes in xf3 because people will just try to pushblock you all day. Also, play around with some loops in xfactor 3 as he becomes pretty hard to control with the speed bonus. He is not the most reliable anchor though and has a shit ton of bad matchups without assists.

Shuma is a terrible anchor, lots of other common anchors right can literally just run away from lvl 3 shuma and you just waste your entire xfactor. For instance wesker/dorm can just super jump back and when they get cornered just teleport behind and repeat. Taskmaster can super jump back wards and down arrows to stop you from doing almost anything to him. There some other characters who can just laugh at lvl 3 shuma but those are the main three i run into where i should just put the controller down if they are halfway decent.
Ive never had problems with Task. If he jumps, air grab Mystic Ray etc
Well If you are close enough to even try this, which is hard enough to do, then the taskmaster should be doing that stupid auto option select of webswing + downward arrows. Keeps him from being grabbed and down arrows still shut you down.

I 100% disagree. Shuma is and AMAZING anchor. Thing is, you gotta save x factor for him. If you don’t, he’s not that great. He is EXTREMELY pringles while x-factored level 3. It’s very hard for the opponent to run away from medium mystic smashes in the air. Also, airborne mystic smashes cross up INSANELY fast. When he gets in, I do a BNB that did 1,300,000 in vanilla (no bars) and in ultimate, it does roughly 740,000 (also no bars). This BNB takes about 5 real-time seconds. Since his damage output is so fast, and does so much, X-Factor can last long enough to kill 3 characters. Also, once you’ve killed a character, you will usually have 3 bars because he builds meter unbelievably fast (while x-factored). If they’re down to their last character, and you’re running low on x-factor, do a level 3, and as they’re coming in, do an air mystic smash into them while mashing H. Another AMAZING thing about Chaos Dimension is that you can cancel literally everything into it. Even Mystic Smash! So it’s an unblockable Mystic Smash. The only characters that can get out of it that I know of are Phoenix (girl) and Sentinel.
I can’t tell you how many times Shuma has won me the game. Often, the other guy will blow x-factor to kill my point character (Spencer), and then kill my 2nd, not expecting any kind of threat from Shuma. But they don’t know the terror that is level 3 x-factored Shuma-Gorath. I actually beat the #1 ranked person in the world on PSN in vanilla (some Japanese guy with Sentinel, Doom, and Phoenix) with Shuma-Gorath as an anchor.

I know for a fact wesker,mags and dorm can easily run away from lvl 3 xfactor shuma. Hawkeye or taskmaster can easily keep shuma out with any meter. Shuma is still pringles to phoenix. Sent can also run away from shuma with backheavy+flight mode and maybe HSF for funsie. Shuma gets lock down for free by non xfactor oro from strider. Also doom can easily just super jump in the corner and be 100% safe from shuma with his projectile/divekicks. (this is just the list of typical anchors shuma has to fight) I actually think shuma was a better anchor in vanilla cause he was harder to run away from, other characters seem much faster and he actually struggles to kill people in lvl 3 xfactor.
So anyways… I’ve recently abandoned shuma from my A team, though I still got him on my RR and vanilla team. What is his xfactor combo people are using, my old one from vanilla is way to unreliable to use now and doesn’t ToD anyways. Also have you noticed that if his mystic ray assist hits an assist character in front of their point character it won’t hit points character, ya thats dumb.
