is mystic ray a good neutral assist?
I think it would be hard to set his loops and unblockables with fb/dorm/shuma, is that true?

It’s decent if you can protect it.

Perhaps, but I wouldn’t worry too much about it as long as your neutral is good and you can do the FB > Shuma hard tag.

Just out of curiosity, could Hsien-ko with pendulum assist be an unblockable setup for Firebrand?

Only thing I think might be a problem with that is short characters like Rocket Raccoon maybe being too short to be locked down by all the hits from the swing :V

Maybe, but … it’s Hsien-Ko. I wouldn’t bother, unless you really, really like the character.

all the tier lists I’ve seen had hsien-ko in the last place, It’s a forgetable char overral so I never use it.
But I’m getting good with shuma, he’s very underused, why?

  1. He’s 5$ extra.
  2. He’s a charge character. Ain’t nobody got time for that shit in Mahvel.
  3. He’s a strange character in general with very odd movement options. I think you have to just click with him or else you’ll just find him off-putting.

Shuma is pretty lacking but has very legitimate uses. He’s just so… weird. And he’s five bucks.

For those that play online Shuma is incredibly difficult to use because he’s a charge character and trying to block crossups and charge attacks with Mahvel netcode is well…very annoying to pull off :V

I hate Shuma online, but I love Shuma offline.

So, question, I have been making Dormammu teams for a while, but for some reason have never considered Firebrand. Plan is, assist in back provides the neutral/opening-up opportunities, Dorm provides the occasional rawtags, damage, and unblockable resets. So, questions.

  1. Firebrand/Dorm/???, who do people think works best in back?

  2. How much does Firebrand get from bolts assist, and if it’s really good, Firebrand/Dorm/Strange…viable?

  3. Does anyone have a list of assists you can just press and ground bon voyage for the safe entry? That seems like such a braindead confirm it’s hilarious, I wanted to know who could pull it off, in case I play them.

Depends on your playstyle, but I would say the best recommendations are probably either Doom (Plasma or Missiles), Ammy (Cold), or Dante (Jam). Angelic would say Shuma is good, too, but that requires you to play Shuma.

Definitely viable. Bolts is a really good assist in general that Firebrand can make great use of. Its only real problem is that it’s so high that smaller characters can ignore it sometimes. Zero is the most notable, but Morrigan also falls into this category.

Not sure what you’re asking for here. Are you asking for who can tag in to confirm off Bon Voyage or which assists make it safe?
For the first, I only know Doom, Viper, and Frank, in order of ease, all of which depend on screen position.
As for the second, there are plenty more, but the best ones are definitely Unibeam, Plasma Beam, and Mystic Ray.

Wow, if mystic ray helps keep a grounded bon voyage safe on block I’m all for that. I am actually picking up anchor Shuma for another team and love him so far.

Strange or Shuma, then, I’ll try them out in the lab tonight.

I have been playing Firebrand(missile),Skrull(Tenderizer)and Shuma(Ray). I think it can be pretty cheap but haven’t unlocked the full potential yet. Anyone have any suggestions?

Does fb/dante have unblockables on incoming like Amny and skull. I have seen fb/dante/doom and I like it. But is jam sesh unblockable worthy

What FB assist should I run with FB/Dante/Task? Which does Dante and Taskmaster benefit from the most?

So I have been screwing around with the FB/Doom/Skrull shell and am liking it a lot, except for 1 thing.

Skrull. Not saying he is a bad character, but his play style just seems funky to me. I flat out suck at using him, and really do not feel like taking the time to become better with him. The only thing he really has going for him here is the unblockable setups anyways on this team.

So my question is (don’t have access to the game at the moment, so can’t check myself right now). How well is FB able to convert off of Vajra? I was thinking of trying out FB/Doom/Strider. Strider seems like he would make a much more solid anchor, and having Vajra to protect/punish certain vertical angles may be useful, especially if you are running Doom without Missiles.

Just curious is all.

His only tool for picking up off the hard knockdown from Vajra is Spitfire H, which might be too slow depending on how far away Firebrand is. Not saying it can’t work (I’m sure it can), but learning Strider isn’t really any easier than learning Skrull. You are correct that Strider would be a more solid anchor though.

On that note, if you’re looking for a solid anchor with a good assist, I would probably recommend Akuma or Vergil over Strider. Tatsu is stupid good with Firebrand and Akuma is still a pretty clutch anchor. Rapid Slash is a decent assist for FB, but this is recommended more for anchor-derp Vergil than anything else. Both of these allow you to run either Missiles or Plasma with Doom, depending on your needs.
On the other hand, if all you need is an assist to control the vertical part of the screen, in general I would recommend Dante and Jam Session over Vajra. Jam also has the benefit of being a great lockdown assist on top of keeping you safe from above.
Again, this is all personal preference, but thought I’d chime in with my opinion.

Vajra can work. Firebrand would be focused more on using Plasma Beam and TACs though. You don’t get many unblockable set-ups but it is still a good team overall. I almost ended up learning Strider for Firebrand/Doom/Strider as a secondary, but I ended up learning Amaterasu instead.

As I said, you’d be focused on your TAC infinites and mix-ups with Plasma Beam. Vajra can be useful vs certain characters but I feel like most of the time, you’ll just have Vajra waiting for when Doom comes in. However, you can get double assist extensions through this:

hard knockdown into corner, call Demon Missile, s.H xx Dash xx Jump, j.S xx ADD, wait, call Vajra, jump, H Plasma Beam, land, jump, H Plasma Beam.

You’d need your ground bounce to have enough time to call your second assist. It might not work though. Not 100% on the Vajra timing.
