What exactly are you doing for “Sexy Time”? The video keeps scrambling a bit so I can’t really tell how/where you’re doing J.S into C.L<div>Also, I’m assuming some of these setups are just as examples, as there are few times when what you’re actually doing look like it wouldn’t be too tough to block. I’m also curious how/if Advancing Guard would affect some of these.</div><div>Don’t get me wrong, it’s all really cool stuff to see, I’m just asking for my own sake and that of others.<br><div><br></div><div>I was going to ask in the tier thread, but it probably makes more sense to ask it here.</div></div>

Just J.S into Cr.L The Drones Block stun gives you enough time to transition.<br>ADV Guard does not effect these setups because Assists are not effected by ADV guard. Actually, mashing ADV guard makes my life a lot easier.<br>Also it looks easy to block until you realize that the drones lock you in the position you that you tech.<br><br>For example if I roll back in order to up-back then drones forces me in a stand block and firebrand can just use. J.S and then hit me with cr.L while I’m in ridiculously long blockstun.

Well as I said a few posts ago, I think that Firebrand/Dr. Doom/Amaterasu is probably the best Firebrand team. You get Plasma Beam (Best horizontal assist for Firebrand) or Missiles (Good for Firebrand, though not one of his best assists), and then Cold Star. Also, your THCs are decent (Enough to where you can THC with Amaterasyu behind Firebrand and one Amaterasu’s ends, Firebrand can do another hyper.) TAC stuff into Doom, hard tags into Doom, etc. Only problem is that to make this team work, you need to be good with all three of your characters because you’re not going to be able to fraud it out.<br><br><br><br>As far as Dante/Firebrand/Doom, I recommend the order of Firebrand/Dante/Doom OR Firebrand/Doom/Dante (This one). Firebrand is definitely a point character (Bad assists, really good start of the round options, Dark Fire isn’t very easy for a lot of characters to DHC into, etc). This is backed by the fact that Dante is slow at the start of the round anyway. Your THC with Dante won’t work (Dark Fire carries them out of it, but THC into XF unblockable should work). Firebrand into Dante DHC isn’t too great either, unless you cancel Dark Fire early, but the Doom/Firebrand DHC is good regardless. As I mentioned before, Doom being on the team allows for hard tag combos. You can have Missiles/Plasma Beam or Jam Session/Weasel Shot, though I recommend Plasma Beam and Jam Session for most match-ups. Jam Session allows for incoming unblockables, but if they take the hit from Jam Session, it can be hard to convert unless you see it in time.<br><br>For Firebrand/Dante/Doom, you still get hard tag combos, but this puts Firebrand on anchor (Though you can hard tag back in after a Sphere Flame). This order leaves you with anchor Doom though, and Dante’s TAC stuff isn’t too amazing (Unless you learn the infinite). Dante gets Plasma Beam in this order, which is good because it is a beam, but it scales a lot for Dante and DHCing into Firebrand wont solve that problem.<br><br>For Firebrand/Doom/Dante, you get access to powerful Doom TACs for Firebrand (Bigger deal than it sounds), and your DHC synergy is better in this order. This allows Doom to have Jam Session(Which I hear it pretty good for him), along with anchor Dante (Which sounds bad, but is severely underrated.) When ever Doom is backed by Dante, you do have a similar THC to Magneto/Dante, but you don’t have a way to force them to block it (Like Magneto’s gravitation). This team is most similar to FB/Doom/Ammy because it’s only one character off and the character that replaces Amaterasu still has a lockdown assist. I feel like this order is your best bet, if you want to run these three characters.<br><br><br>HOWEVER, I haven’t tested this but it’s possible that you can hard tag into Dante off of Bon Voyage and then do DP+M. I don’t play Dante with Firebrand though, so I have no idea.<br><br>
Because I dislike Ammy so much, I might just play Firebrand/Doom/Vergil or Doom/Firebrand/Vergil. Doom with rapid slash is bananas. Im at a level with Doom where I can confidently fight with him on his own, so even if Rapid Slash doesn’t count as a neutral assist, I don’t really need it. I can get alot of damage off of Doom combos and DHC into Firebrand for the kill and then I can scum my way through characters with his godlike incomings. Or if I have Firebrand first, I have 2 neutral assists to work with and I get to TAC into infinite and more meter. <br><br>Yo Firebrand, I miss you <3.<br>

Thank Kresent, you helped me a lot,</p><p>I played this week with Firebrand Doom Ammy is very strong, but my ass is ammy</p><p>!I’ll play a bit with Dante and see how I came out, but if not I’ll have to find solution the dog learn the hard way! </p><p>XD<br></p><p><br></p>
Well KakaClaymore if you want to run an effective Fraudbrand team. You could try Firebrand/Skrull/Sentinel (my team)
Skrull covers every single one of Firebrand’s troublesome matchups besides Wolverine and Hawkeye. But even then all it takes is a well timed meteor smash to eliminate the dude. Skrull with drones is tasty bananas (and the bananas get tastier in level 2 x-factor). Also you get the Tenderizer unblockable for Firebrand on top of the best AA’s in the game (Elastic Slam H). Which will allow you to skate through jump happy Dante and Doom players.
Also Skrull is just as dirty as Firebrand on incoming characters so feel free to snap in your opponent’s characters who are giving your team trouble.
I agree with Kresent about Firebrand/Doom/Ammy being the best Firebrand team.
But if you want to be a scumbag player who gets lots of salty snacks like me. Then you’ll do just fine with Firebrand/Skrull/Sentinel
I really want to play FB/Doom/Amaterasu as my potential main team (Though I’m really starting to like FB/Dorm/Doom now that I’m getting the hang of missiles with both characters). My Doom is still average, at best though and I don’t even play Amaterasu yet so it’d be a long while before I could be competent with that team.
I’m gonna eventually make videos showcasing all the combos that you can hard tag into Doom from Firebrand, including throws that aren’t in the corner, but are too close for your hard tag to not hit them on the wrong side on in coming.
Sorry if this post is a little hard to understand. I got my tonsils removed earlier today and I’m on pain pills for it. I feel really out of it.
What do you guys think of Firebrand/Skrull/Doom ?
Random poll: How often do you use and abuse Divekick as a method of getting in?
If running Missiles, it’s better for Skrull. If running Plasma Beam, it’s better for Firebrand (Though Apology Man uses Plasma Beam and plays a more footsie Skrull.) However, you get Tenderizer unblockables so I suggest going with Missiles anyway. Basically your plan would be to troll around with MIssiles until you get a hit and then 300% the team. If Firebrand dies, you still have a decent shell of Skrull/Doom.
Unless you don’t want to go for the unblockable though, your hard tag combos with Doom aren’t very useful as long as Skrull is alive and available, especially since it would put FB on anchor. This team would take a little while to get used to doing the right thing in the right situation.
About Devil’s Claw:
I use it sometimes, especially if in XF or Luminous Body but outside of those, it has a lot of start up and that’s a big problem against characters who can anti-air it with disjointed hitboxes. Maybe if it was faster or if it hit high, I would use it more. And because of the start up, it’s easy for a lot of characters to just dash out of the way and punish it. I do use it as a punish tool a lot though, because it still covers a good angle. +11 on block though, so there is that.
Yeah, but it does have a really, really good hitbox. Good for crossups, but you need to obviously set that up.
Check my vid in the video thread I use DC + BV as a pseudo guard break.
I’m liking the Sentinel/Dante shell for Firebrand
Both Drones and Jam Session cover either the horizontal or vertical plane for an extended period of time, fuzzies and ambiguous left/rights everywhere pretty much
Dark Fire in the corner sets up double Plasma Storm
You can start a Sent TAC infinite off a Firebrand hit from anywhere on screen with side and down TACs. Up TACs seem to be exclusive to the corner for now. The threat of that scary TAC options makes the TAC counter bait reset more effective
A completed TAC infinite gives you 5 bars to play with so that means he has a Dante THC stocked for the next character
They both allow for some nice non-unblockable incoming mixups
And Sent/Dante as a pair are really good. Jam Session is arguably Sent’s best assist. Safe DHCs and safer ways in for both characters and they’re interchangeable as Drones is one of Dante’s best assists also
It’s not quite the level of Zak’s new team and a little harder to play but a nice alternative
Quick question, with a burning passion I hate playing Doom so I’m trying anything I can to drop him. However his raw tag combos off Bon Voyage is way to useful to just lose because of the easy damage. I was thinking Strange for palm loops, but I haven’t yet figured out a way to make it work. Is it possible? Or do you have to use a TAC?
I don’t think Strange recovers fast enough to combo after Bon Voyage. The only way I can think to make palm loops viable from Firebrand is DHC xx XF. Not ideal, but certainly possible. If anyone has other ideas, though, I’d certainly take them.
The only things that will work to set up Dr. Strange loops are TACs and very very very specific tag spacings (which aren’t practical.)
An alternative ‘raw damage’ option off of a Firebrand hit is to DHC into Vergil w/belt and do sword loops.
c(L, M, H, S) sj(H2 xx M dive, H2) s(H, S) sj(M, H2, d+H, L dive) c(H, S) sj(M, M, H2, S) s(dark fire)
DHC belt - at this point you should in the corner
j(d+H) s(L judgement cut, round trip) c(H, f+H xx M teleport) loop dee loop etc
@Cee Dizzy
I saw you say in the comprehensive thread that you don’t play Firebrand anymore. Would you be okay if I made a new team/assist thread?
Idk if you got the message. Do it. I haven’t been taking care of it. I still play him but solely for fun lol.
