Hey guys, I really wanted to make a new team with both Taskmaster and Akuma and I was thinking about putting Firebrand on point. How’s this team:
Firebrand (Whatever) / Taskmaster (Vertical Arrows) / Akuma (Tatsu)
The only thing I’m worried about is the long distance approach since Tatsu doesn’t really cover full screen. But besides that I can set up the Marvisto unblockable with Taskmaster and Taskmaster / Akuma is a great combination.
Grab set ups off blocked Luminous into -> Cry for Me.
But Demon Missile H assist gives Modok an extra “limb” so to speak to work with like it does with Sentinel, Hulk and Nemmy.
I’m running Logan(nado)/FB(swoop)/Sent(drones)
I can rush down and open up with drones super easy and hope for a TAC down for the meter (I pop lumininus in case i mess up the unblockable) and then finish with FBs j.s (hopefully in the corner) and setup for the unblockable with drones as lockdown. I’ve only been toying with this team for a couple of days now, and I’m loving the mix up potential. My only gripe is that logan often uses up the ground bounce I could use for FB after a TAC and that’s not even bad, I just like the way bon voyage drags people against the floor lol.
I’d think the bigger gripe would be that you are basically shit outta luck if they snap in and kill sent. Wolverine and FB don’t have the greatest of synergies together but I can see the appeal to having both Luminous Body and Berseker Charge. Ultra-Fast team + whackbot.
Ran Firebrand/Wolvie/Sentinel for a long time.
It’s a fun as fuck team. If your anchor sentinel is strong then you’ll have a great time.
It’s always fun being on offense.
If you go Wolvie/Firebrand/Sentinel that’s also a strong option. Since we all know Wolvie is the best character in the game sans Zero at match start.
It’s funny you mention zero. I started using Zero(w/e) / FB(swoop) / Sent(drones)
I had another unblockable set-up in mind this morning and went to test it out. I bnb with Zero into otg rekoha and DHC into luminous asap. From here, I call drones, back dash, begin missile H. After rekoha is done hitting, the opponent is forced into blockstun by drones and bam! free open-up. It’s not air tight, though, but none of the people I play with seem to escape it. After zeros bnb and FBs reset, I’m looking at 875K-ishdamage for 2 bars. Not bad for easy combos and execution… This team is very fun. I’m experimenting with FB’s tech and finding new mixups, tick grabs, setups, etc. Lovin it.

This setup doesn’t actually work. Drones are too slow and they could just use flight mode to woddle on out. I need to make a few more adjustments to tighten the lockdown with this team. Still a fun team though.
I think it would be worth testing what assists could make that unblockable setup work. I’ve thought about a FB/Zero/Dante team as both characters make good use of jam session, dhcing into zero leaves firebrand in luminous for comboable raw tags and the obvious lightning loops, can have zero set up for comboable crossover counters, etc. The dangerous part is that Dante is not supported well by either an assist of Zero/FB and could struggle if snapped in…plus he’s a mediocre anchor outside the best hands.
idk i think fb/zero got some good gimmicks with the right team.
Im switching out ammy on my team for strange.
The team is now firebrand (Swoop), Doom (rocks), Strange (bolts)
I felt with both rocks and cold stars that the team was too weak to zoning.
After watching friends/pros use strange I notice that strange bolts bodies missiles and protects you from vajra.
That sold me to try out this team at least.
Anyone else try firebrand with bolts assist?
or anyone have any thoughts?
Strangely enough, I just traded Tatsu for Bolts. Initial impressions are that it gives Firebrand so many mixup options, and Bolts with Doom is nice, better than Rocks with Strange of course.
I’m not riding Strange’s dick just yet.
The guy is unsafe on everything, huge hurtbox, low health, and he’s only a decent zoner.
I think Strange definitely has his niche but until I find a pseudo DHC glitch with firebrand or a way to tag into FoF combos the full synergy isn’t there for me.
I need an excuse to put jill on a firebrand team besides the fact that I wanna reference the JillxFirebrand hentai pic I saw on the glorious interwebs.

I’m currently running Firebrand/Vergil/Doooooooooooooooom, Smegma Beam is a really good assist for Kidnapping Dragon(yes, I know he’s a gargoyle), if you’re just a little more than half a screen away, you can rawtag into the doctor, for results almost as good as tagging into a former surgeon, complete with “Spinning in the air on swords”. Speaking of Vergil, Quickly Cut Across the Screen assist helps Firebrand’s pressure/combos, and it gives Dooooooooooom some fancy extensions. Happy Fireball is pretty godlike when properly covered.The team also works in almost any order.
Is there any way that Firebrand can level up Frank? I can’t find shit yet, but I want to play that team cause Frank gives Firebrand some godlike resets.
bnb into TAC pass any direction -> Frank does M > H > Knee Drop > Snapshot > ToS > Luminous Body > Re-tag > Snapshot > Level 4
If you run Happy Fireball/Walmart/Droooooooooooooones, or Smegma Beam, you can get an extra kidnap in a bnb, as soon as you use your wallbounce, rawtag cameraxxdhcglitch,rawtag camera. I may need to test it some more, but Droooooooooooooones gives you an extra kidnap if you’re near the corner, and if you DHC Dark fire into Dat Cart, you can Snap a pic+call Smegma Beam, relaunch, h, kneepush, call Happyfire+ToS H, Snap a pic.
Can you record this and/or give notations?

Does firebrand work well with vajra? I want to play firebrand but I really don’t want to drop strider.
I was thinking of playing either firebrand/vergil/strider or firebrand/dormamu/strider.
