Those teams reek of meter heavy

FB/Vergil and FB/Dorm are both good shells, but I wouldn’t try to combine them. There will be meter issues, and all of your assists are situational. FB/Ammy/Vergil is Udaterasu’s team in a different order. FB can THC with both to set up an unblockable, but he lacks a surefire way to set one up on incoming.

I like FB/Ammy/Vergil alot. Both assist are godlike for Firebrand and rapid slash is good for Ammy IMO. Firebrand and Ammy need to get married. They are too good together.

I also have to agree with MysticBranded. Firebrand/Sentinel/Akuma is such a solid team. Not really the best team for Firebrand, but extremely solid. I have to say that the best team(s) for Firebrand are Firebrand/Ammy/Vergil, Firebrand/Doom/Skrull or Firebrand/Dormammu/Ammy

EDIT: Althought Udaterasu’s team lacks unblockables on entry they do have some fuzzy guard set-ups on entry, which gets really retarded.

so i tried firebrand/dorm/akuma for the first time today and i love it. i need some good entry traps, but i love tac’ing to dormammu for unblockable set ups using luminous body and the ball. im a little hesitant to just mash akumas assist with firebrand sonce my firebrand isnt extroadinary, but with dormammu it works wonders. a few questions about using it with firebrand:
does it give you enough time to do j.L, hell elavator L, cr.L mixup
does it lockdown enough for any kind of incoming unblockable?
does it have any combo extension uses (ill play around with it tomorrow, just wondering if you guys have found anything cool)

  1. Yes, it does. Though if the j.L hits, you need to be able to react fast enough to catch them because Tatsu will knock them away.
  2. No, but you can force them to block a Bon Voyage on incoming, land, call Tatsu, and go for a grab. If they tech the grab, they fall into Tatsu and you get a high/low mix-up.
  3. Not really. There are small things but for the most part, it doesn’t do anything spectacular.

You put my name on the front post and said that I play Firebrand/Sentinel/Akuma, but I play Firebrand/Dormammu/Akuma.

As for the Zak Bennett analysis:

His team is a very strong team for Firebrand. He gets the DHC power from Dormammu along with Cold Star. Very powerful incoming mix-ups and if you block Cold Star, he will open you up. Doesn’t necessarily use unblockables, but the DHC power with Dormammu behind him makes it a null point.

Pros - Very strong for Firebrand. Has killing power because of Dormammu. Zak Bennett specifically is very good with Amaterasu as anchor.

Cons - Kind of falls apart after Firebrand dies. Amaterasu only does so much for Dormammu. It’s hard to get top players to actually block Cold Star.

    Firebrand/Doom(rocks)/Ammy (cold stars): This team focus on beating rush down teams. Firebrand has access to two strong unblockable reset.

Doom(rocks)/Firebrand/Ammy (cold stars): This team is focus on beating keepaway teams. This team is about putting the opponent into the corner. Then go into unblockable situation where Doom is on point.

  1. What are some set-ups with this team (unblockables, ambiguous cross-ups, block strings, anti-Phoenix tech etc.)?
    A. FB St.H+cold stars into unblockable
    B. Bon voyage into hard tag Doom St.M-> high damage combo
    C. Faster THC
    D. Stalking Flare like unblockables with Doom/FB FB/Ammy or FB/Doom/Ammy
    E.There is more and I could give more details but I wont say more because I need to work out the bugs before they get released

    I kinda hate missiles.
    I really hate Strider assist.

    Yes, I very much like this team. Others on the broad have made teams that are good. I have thought about the switch. Where I would gain one feature while I would look at my team now and realize I would lose three features to my team if I made the switch.
    I wont say this team is the best, but I will say this team works as a unit to benefit each other the best.
    The cheap BS doesnt stop if one of my characters dies on my team.

Cee Dizzy you should also add Toki to the list (Firebrand, Dormammu, Super Skrull). He uses the unblockable in smart resets with skrull and plays defensively once firebrand dies. Skrull anchor is nuts.

How do you balance meter with Firebrand/Ammy/Vergil?

I guess you choose a sacrificial lamb who won’t use meter. Probably not Vergil.

Lambybrand?

Firelamb or Lambaterasu.
Vergil is a wolf.

Lambateratsu has lamb of mist and lamby shuffle so she has better meter usage than firelamb.

How do you guys think Firebrand/Dormammu/Dante is? I really like it, even if I’m not the biggest fan of anchor dante. I might put magnus or some other good horizontal space controlling assist on anchor. Thoughts?

If you have 2 meters, there is no reason why you shouldn’t use it to kill or cripple a character.

Ammy is usually first anyway to build the meter. Firebrand spends it. Vergil doesn’t need it with lvl 3 x-factor but the more the merrier.

The team is meter hungry, but you don’t necessarily need meter to do what you need to do (which is fuck some shit up).

So the team i run is Firebrand fireball otg assist, Nova grav pulse assist, Dr. Doom missile assist. Essentially, from what i get from playing my team is if i can land a hit, anywhere on screen, the opponent will work his way to the corner (doom assist helps with this). From the corner the firebrand/nova assist setup up an extremely high number of different resets (many that still need to be recorded/notated…coughlazycough). Your essentially going to come out of a bon voyage that lands them near the corner where they bounce, and you call out nova to setup a grav pulse. From there you’re essentially setting a number of different possiblities depending on how the opponent techs.

Talk to FlyingVe about that team … he claims to have some crazy stuff for it.

Ive been wanting to try FB/???/Ammy, but I dont know who to use. I was thinking Doom, because I dont like Dormammu that much, is there a better option than doom or dorm?
