Sentinel allows Firebrand to have god-tier okizeme pressure, but Cold Star + Sentinel is pretty bad because of the scaling
so should I just use Doom? I have mixed feelings with hidden missiles.
Missiles is OK as ever, but it doesn’t benefit Firebrand like with Spencer, for example. However, if you tag into Doom in the middle of a Firebrand Combo, either by TAC or Bon Voyage, your damage starts to skyrocket.
give rocks a try for unblockables
Plasma beam makes Bon Voyage super safe. Try it. Im experimenting with Firebrand/Doom/Ammy and I think its a hell of a Firebrand team. Not the best, but very solid.
Skrull is always an option, and I’m sure he appreciates Ammy’s assist as well. Ammy gives him easy unblockables midscreen while Skrull takes care of corner set-ups. You can’t ask for much more optimal coverage than that.
Also, perhaps I am crazy but I think Strange could work well with that shell too. Firebrand would love Bolts, and you get Luminous -> fast hyper punish of your choice as a bonus. Strange is also in a position to abuse Ammy’s THC as well.
I’ve actually been toying around with FB/Strange/Skrull lately. I’m debating the order. Firebrand gets some really mean options with BoB, though the fact that short characters can duck it makes it not completely optimal.
Of course, BoB is arguably Skrull’s favorite assist along with Drones, so the tradeoff is probably worth it.

Firebrand/Frank/Wesker
Somehow my “for fun” team has been kicking all sorts of ass lately.
I’m not a serious Frank player but I think the dude is cool. But I still level him up through TACS because I’m lazy as hell.
But anything Firebrand does and a TAC in any direction leads to a level 4 Frank.
I think the TAC game throws people off because I’m not TACing for any advantage. I’m just TACing to pass to Frank.
It Frustrates people to the point where **I even got our local Phoenix player to start *TAC blocking in different directions.***Also people were starting to pop x-factor on Firebrand as if he was the threat.
Oh how wrong they were…Frank/Wesker has a pretty nasty high low and left/right game.
Anyway in my matches I score full-health Level 4 Frank about 95% of the time. But I kinda suck with the guy so I don’t OCV my opponent’s team after getting him. Usually Frank kills 2 people, Or weakens the opponent’s team to the point where everyone is under 500k.
So now Firebrand does Spencer Tier damage XD. If F-brand goes down then I have Level 3 X-factor Bestker and his 1 fucking frame command grab lol.
Opinions? This is just my for fun team (It’s not really even a Firebrand one). But I may consider maining it for awhile if feedback says its viable.
Honestly I feel like Wesker is the odd one out on that team. I’m not saying he’s bad or anything, but I feel he doesn’t contribute hardly anything to Firebrand and his help for Frank is only so-so IMO.
I use a similar team with Super-Skrull in the back, but you could just as easily throw in Magneto, Vergil, or Amaterasu. After Skrull, I’d say Ammy is the best bet since she helps with FB’s unblockable setups and her THC is pretty great for leveling up Frank if he still needs it.
Thanks for replying
Hmm I see your point about Wesker. But he gives Frank long range unblockables with J.S in addition to extending Frank’s combos for massive damage.
Also he’s derp.
I’d be inclined to say that a long range unblockable isn’t really what you want, since A) Frank not hitting is still OK due to huge ass chip and B) Unblockables based on LVL4 Frank. It’s nice that Frank has a back up in Wesker, but again, you could probably do better.
Thought about Firebrand/Strange: does Spell of Vishanti -> Luminous Body lead to combos? Assuming the SoV is punishing something so HSD is low.
I think the main problem with the team is Wesker might offer unblockables, but that just means people will up-back against Frank’s huge normals. So, against intelligent players, Wesker isn’t contributing much. The team is also going to have real problems against dedicated zoning teams. For example, I personally find Hawkeye to be a very frustrating matchup for Firebrand, and he’s one of the reasons I feel Firebrand needs a neutral assist to help him get in (that and the twins).
The team undoubtedly can win, since it’s literally Noel Brown’s team with “the flying Wolverine” as people called him pre-release. But I’m sure you’ve seen what happens when Noel Brown fights ChrisG…it’s not pretty. It doesn’t help that Shopping Cart has no effect on projectiles, so you can’t even make a hail mary assist call a la tatsu assist and dive in.
FB/Frank/Dante could probably be a “serious” team if someone wanted it to be. Jam Session can net Firebrand one guaranteed unblockable, so you get to choose which character dies to level-up Frank. Plus, Frank/Dante is still quite a viable duo if the bat gets bopped.
So I went to a local using Firebrand/WESKAR/Sentinel.
5/15 isn’t bad.
I didn’t feel like running an actual firebrand team >_<.
Kinda just wanted to see how far I could go with the one I have lots of fun with.
Anyway is there anything Firebrand/Wesker have together?
Winning 33% of your matches, I wouldnt call good or even decent tho.
Firebrand/Wesker I got nothing
Better damage off of throws, maybe?
Popping people into the air and low to the ground is a good way to setup an unblockable, even if it is on the difficult side. I think it has merit for investigation
I placed 5th out of 15. I didn’t win 5 out of 15 matches lol.
So you were at worst 2-2? Not a bad start for a new & unoptimized team.
Yeah it was fun
It was kinda cool how Wesker can combo off bon voyage and Firebrand can combo off Ghost Butterfly. So I did a few mid-combo switches when Firebrand/Wesker got low on health.
