Guy Ultra SF4 Changes

Unsure but balance wise probably not to the entire cast.

NJ.HK has 2 uses, one hit causes a juggle point similar to Bushin Chain, 2 hits causes a juggle point only where Super will connect
Cross up on Rose is based on her hurtbox not the hitbox of the move.
Cl.HK, sickle, BSK never connected on any members of the cast because you are pushed to far away MK BSK works on some of the cast, and though tough you can do a walk forward HK BSK to connect on some characters, at point blank range Sickle into HK BSK is actually character specific since some characters have smaller hurtboxes,

I don’t even bother caring for a Reversal FADC, -5 forward dash isn’t worth the 3 bars and its pretty easy to react with a grab to it. Have yet to seriously take up a side character and I enjoy his burst damage :slight_smile:

I was sure HK, sickle, bsk used to work, my bad. That’s me being an idiot as usual. The rose thing must be a weird one, guessing if they ‘fixed’ it for guys j.mk it must break her vs others.

A fadc would actually be a bit useless, I’m wondering why I mention it now because i actually never mentioned it any time I had ideas for buffs.

Bushin chain not adding to the juggle count would be pretty high up my list, the scaling and combo opportunities it would open up would do no harm and only add some end of round enders.

Still think n.HK should serve a better purpose, something like chuns j.HP, ryus j.mp, bisons ect, a nj.hk into hk bsk would be great, if it pushed up more and away less. Or even thinking rose and her reflect to soul throw, although to air grab might be a little too strong. Nj.hk to a well spaced hozanto, runslide or ultra/super regardless of hits would give the move a serious lease of life. I keep meaning to use it but if you don’t have super stocked instant air grab or something similar is always the better option.

Never really had a second character, used fei, gen, t.hawk and mokoto a bit but never tried to go past messing. Decapre is interesting and fun, her damage output is mental and her ultra one is way too much craic. Guy still has my interest, I just maybe can’t get to the next level with him due to my own limitations not his and I guess once folks get used to decapre I will hit the same wall. Think I need to start option selecting and maximising damage and hit confirms rather that just continuing down the same road of playing on pure reads and a bit too close to gimmicky.

Edit: actually my biggest weakness is throw teching. I really need to sit down and get that down, not cr.teching but actually looking for and reacting to throws.

you could do that with J.HK however the move needs to hit only once, if its hits twice then you can’t.

Well playing other characters helps your overall game. I still dabble in Yang, Cody. Yun and Ryu

Hey guys, can any of you verify this information for me? I’d really appreciate it:

Guy’s CS.MP > Run > Stop > Guy is -2
Guy’s FS.MP > Run > Stop > Guy is -5
Guy’s CS.HP > Run > Stop > Guy is -3
Guy’s TC > Run > Stop > Guy is -1

Looks all correct to me except for fs.MP which should be -7 (16-4+1-20=-7)

All correct but FS Mp, as Enema said it’s -7 however enema did his frame data wrong it’s 17 not 16. You forgot the other active frame of st.mp and it should be 4+16 rather than 1-20.

I’m really liking Guy in ultra, I’ve picked him up, I got the Ultra SF Bible, does anyone else who may have this know if the info is all correct? I heard the guide had some errors in general.

Really like Guy a lot in this can’t put my finger on why, he feels good to me.

Also quick question can’t Cr Fierce be used as an AA?

Can you post his info from the bible, that way we can verify. Also CR.HP is very rarely used as an AA, you have better and faster options with st.hk and st.lk,

Duck hp is more character/move specific. Say vs balrog perhaps its your best anti air when he is up on you. Realistically wins more than it loses in most situations.

Going to have to see how I can do that…it’s aloooot of info in that book lol. and don’t want to scan pages and possibly get in trouble lol, I think what I’m loving about him the most is dat walk speed, it’s giving some of my opponents I play against fits, cross up not working on rose IS annoying though but I still beat my friends rose with him. Going to main Guy and stick to my Abel as well.

is it just me or does everything whiff against rolento? he just randomly falls out of my target combos despite not using long strings.

All of the new characters have odd hurtboxes.

Poison drops out of Guy’s super if done off Bushin chain via super cancel. In the corner it still connects if you let them drop a bit after the HK finish but doesn’t work midscreen.

I doubt it’s anything super serious but just nice to know if you’re trying to maximize that damage to close the match.

I stated this months ago, and still stand by it… don’t use Super on Poison unless its off a hozanto midscreen.

I kick myself the amount of times I’ll forget this in a Poison match, but my use of BCC>Super is never of the kill (well, not usually anyway) I typically use it as a tool early in the round to get a really good life lead and cause the opponent to start panicking, just because I want it to be early enough in the game that I’m not regretting having no meter, or being abused because I have no meter. In that context it’s not such a catastrophe that Poison flops out of it.

guy is flawed and will continue to be flawed… they dont care about him enough to take the time and make sure everything works properly. the way i feel about this game is “fuck this game”. im tired of all the bullshit, glitches, wonkey hitboxes and all the other crap in this shit. i stop playing this crap ever since ultra came out n it was supposed to be the best version of guy n all we got was more unfinished and untested crap than ever before. so in closing, “FUCK THIS GAME”.
