While I can see where you’re coming from (and to an extent agree that it SHOULD work) you can just do run slide after the MP. You can visually confirm this is safe to do as you’re hitting cr. Lk the second time.
After losing a few games to crouching Sakuras and Codys, you learn to adapt
My pet hates are bushin chain whiffing on Abel unless you’re at point blank range, and only 3 hits of EX tatsu on Balrog.
I’ve been doing this lately but my execution isn’t that great, i can link it like 75% of the time but those 25% really hurt me. I hope i get used to it in time.
Which focuses do you mean? There are a few characters who can avoid the grab by doing a focus with crouch or lean back (off the top of my head; Bison, Balrog, Akuma, Fei Long, Blanka, Seth, Juri and Sakura all spring to mind) where it would have grabbed them if they just stood there. So they use the focus animation to evade the grab box of the flip, so elbow drop comes out - which will more than likely get immediately punished by the focus attack.
However from right up close, every focus charge animation in the game can be bushin flip grabbed. You will normally only fall victim to the focus evasion if you are randomly MP/HP/EX flipping across the screen, which is usually bad practice anyway.
Well i think the 2f ex-tatsu cancel is really moving him some tiers up… but the chances of this staying are slim. He’ll still be really good in Ultra probably.
I think its far past the 2 frame reversal for few reasons, most of the characters that are listed in the strong character excel well on the ground game and okizeme
Strong
Cammy, Guy, Ibuki, T. Hawk, Chun-Li, Evil Ryu, Adon, Sagat, Yun, Yang
Fairly Strong
Ryu, Akuma, Rose, C. Viper, Makoto, Sakura
You’ll notice Ken isn’t there, yet anyways because people need to figure out other tools for him. It’s early yes but Guy will likely still stay on the strong side. Looks like his small buffs and such have aided him well.
