maki is my favorite character in cvs2 run backwards after cr.mp was a crazy bait.

Beta list was released considering almost every character with a DP fadc was given the -5 treatment bit considering he is virtually the same as the NEC build… So far so good.

I was curious what was going to happen to Guy, but in the end, he looks solid. I’m glad about them extending the hitbox of elbow drop. I’m thinking now it’s possible to beat Ryu’s crouching Mk if elbow is hit meaty on wake-up. So Guy should have more vortex capabilities against those characters now (especially in the corner). Target combo should be good now as well. As far as Red Focus it should be possible to do: close stMk, Target Combo cancelled into Red Focus crumple, Ultra combo mid-screen against most characters now.

Iroc that would do abysmal damage though. TC will still whiff just not as frequently (I hope). So nothing crazy like the trailer showed.

Yeah red focus just interests me for whatever reason. Super cant be connected after a frame trap cr HP midscreen, so I was thinking just use the meter on red focus, like cr HP -> far MP xx red FADC crumple -> Ultra 1 or 2

Wor don the twitter feed is that Guy is stupid good currently, Run overhead will always connect twice in the air, and apparently if you combo into red focus expect big damage, not sure what the last details means in comparison to other combos but good notes so far.

I guess just damage, priority etc. Guy was good at NEC. Remember you’re reading a paper and not testing the changes out. We are also unable to see him in action cause everyone wanted to test out the new characters when streams were about. I wouldn’t say he’s top tier as many people are accusing but since he’s fixed he’s going to be a solid threat if this stays (which I hope it does.)

that’s interesting to hear. i wonder what’s making people say he’s so good in the current build. i mean as far as i could tell… the change list was pretty much the same other than TC being supposedly fixed and command elbow hitbox being adjusted.

i mean if he’s as good as people are saying… i’m all for it. i’d love to see some one who consistently gets top 8 at majors pick up guy to see where they could take him. let’s hope guy stays as good as what’s going around.

Remember when PR Balrog and Justin Wong said that Guy was top tier in SFxT? Yeah…whatever happened to that? Unless you actually PLAY Guy, people don’t have a damn clue what they’re talking about. Sure on paper it may look like he can do this and do that, but in reality…he’s still just Guy. Until the game actually comes out and everyone has a few months of play time, there is no point in even speculating where Guy or anyone else for that matter is going to end up tier-wise. Until Xian came along, it was almost universally agreed that Gen was lower-mid/bottom tier…then everyone suddenly thought he was high tier/possibly broken. The moral of this story is, pay no attention to what anyone has to say about a character unless they religiously play that character themselves.

You forget that I played Ultra Guy, and this is talk from location tests and I do believe Japan is the one testing. So what the person is seeing is dedicated Guy players and their reactions/feedback.

I think that DP > FADC being -5 is really going to help balance the game. I know everyone who plays characters that have always had that option as a safe way to wakeup or get out of pressure are going to cry about it. But then again, it doesn’t mention EX versions so I guess if they want to blow 3 bars on EX DP > FADC, they can still do that. But it definitely goes some way to addressing the issue with characters like Guy who have never had the option to FADC their DP reversal move.

If they wanted to adjust srk FADC forward dash pressure should of changed it to -3 not -5.

If they did -3 everyone would just mash grab.

That doesn’t make any sense. If it’s -3, -4, -5 or -50, everyone can still just mash grab. To make it so people can’t mash grab it would have to be -2 which would be a negligible difference from the current -1.

Being -5 means there’s opportunity to do a high/max damage combo to punish it for most characters in the game. It will force shotos etc. to think more about their defensive options instead of knowing they can rely on DP > FADC to escape relatively for free (at the cost of 2 bars)

they didn’t list ex versions of srk fadc or dans srk so they may still be able to do -2 safe pressure.

Not everyone is -1 remember guy was able punish them for it in super with ultra 2. I knowif it -4 or 5 people could still mash grab but with that much disadvantage people will mash jab. They won’t make it -2 because people want the 50/50 to be removed. Even then not everyone is going to punish the -5. I rarely see yang get punished for his do fadc and it’s -4

Its good. I feel 2 bars was always a cheap price to reverse a KD situation into a relatively neutral or 50/50 situation, now there is quite a big risk to focus cancel dashing forward.
