Noticeable Changes:
1)Foward. Walkspeed seems faster
2)Cr.HK is faster
3)Comboable LP.Hozanto
4)More hitstun on Elbow drop (still unknown if its an OH)
5)Ground bounce on EX Run->OH
6)Wall Bounce of EX Hozanto
7)Corner Juggle combos seem pretty good
Guy was recently announced as one among the 12 new exclusive vita characters , and considering this game is going to have DLC support we should be seeing news about him pretty soon. He was also featured in this cinematic trailer back in July.

I think Guy will be very strong in this game , he is famous for his chain combos in previous Alpha games (being one of the few characters who retained if from SF Alpha 1) . It would be intresting to see what amount of freedom Capcom gives him , particularly hoping for comboable Bushin flip throw to return…

The last SF game that focussed on chain combos had Guy as god tier , lets hope some of that remains unlike SSF4
I really hope he fits in well in this game, Guy is my main… and in the sf4 series you have to work so damn hard to get inside on some characters… i’m really looking forward to a focus attack free game… some characters having armour on charged moves is fine though.
Comboable bushin flip would blow my mind… i’d just be happy with some of his old stuff back, the nature of this new game really seems like he will slot in a little easier then he did in sf4, still play him hard in sf4 regardless… it’s still so fun to screw with people once you do finally get in on them
I think his Charge move will be Run command … charging it gives you armor and fully charged will give you his old A3 super …I hope some of his moves have better hitboxes so that they dont whiff like they do in SF4 …
Oh man, if the run was his charge up… think of the possibilities!
I’m ok with the other 12 coming a little later… this game has a monster roster already, just wish Guy was in there from the start… I will hate myself if I pick a shoto to learn this game
I’m thinking Guy/King… Guy for opening them up and King for confirming damage… early days yet though!
I main Guy in SF (still a noob though), so I was pretty excited to hear he will in fact be in the game after the trailer tease… but have you guys noticed that Bushin Chain is automatically a launcher (light>medium>heavy>heavy) and TC is a chain combo (medium>heavy)?
Guy’s probably in for some changes. I don’t have too much of a problem with BC being a launcher ( if you can choose to toss the opponent toward the corner with the throw followup… ^_^) I’m more concerned with TC… since TC xx Run Slide / Hozanto / BSK now must be done with EX. I really hope we see something new, otherwise Guy’s going to be a real meter drain (maybe he’ll build meter super fast.) This also means (pending new information) that we’re relying on lp/lk, mp xx special for meterless damage / corner-carry (if you want/need to keep Guy on point.) I’m not so worried about the damage, but that really changes up the rhythm of his play and blockstrings. It’s still pressure, but… meh, he loses a lot of fun combos and big punishes.
Anyway, some of his tools will probably be amazing in the new environment as-is (TK EX kaiten izuna comes to mind.) I’m curious to see if they’ll do anything different with BSK, though. Anti-airs are supposedly nerfed across the board (and he’s already got KI,) you can only land the EX version after TC (his super costs only one bar more than EX for corner juggles anyway,) and there are dedicated alpha counters now and a forward roll on wakeup. I just don’t know how BSK stays relevant in this format if it’s similar to it’s SF4 incarnation (an EX-only reversal on wake-up and more damage and corner-push / less safety than lp hozanto for mk BSK after [S]TC[/S] mp is not enough utility for a tatsu really.)
Well, I’m really looking forward to practicing bushinryu in one more game… just not sure what it’s going to look like. What do you guys think? Will the jump speed/arc changes help his jump-in and cross-up-mix-up game, or even <gasp> make flip really good again?
(Oh, and this is my first post I think, hi everyone.)
[edit: Just realized someone will probably say “this isn’t SSF4, don’t expect the characters to play exactly the same.” I haven’t played SFxT, but it looks like the characters jumping rosters from SF4 have kept most of their movelists intact… so it’s an assumption. Anyway, the point was that he will be different, I’m just not sure how much, and I’ve grown to like his most recent incarnation. PPS - you guys are right, comboable Bushin flip (and throw to super!) would make my day.]
Thanks to capcoms we have to wait for months to play what people are already playing now … but outside of that from the vids , I cant really tell what is his charge move… He seems to do his focus stance to charge which then goes into his Super
I laugh at how Seth Killian said in an interview months ago that making 3D models in a 2D game allowed them to make more varied animations and didn’t force the developers to recycle sprites over and over, and yet Guy had the same animation in his aerial lk and mk, and now reuses his old focus attack animation.
I spent a ton of time using him last night. He’s a lot better than I thought. His pressure game is tons better. c.MP is really good for frame trapping and it’s still really good for AA. I’ll list some things I found out in a bit.
