Ok so im about at the end of the manifesto, yeah his lack of parenting was an issue, as well as his best and only surviving friend also being unsuccessful. In elementary he was fine until like 4th grade then he started to get jealous, middle school he hated everything in 7th grade, high school his life changed once he saw porn and started jacking off, he wanted a girl so bad, and didn’t understand how guys around him got girls, and they teased him for being odd.

Im in the final part where he talks of his time at the college ,he hated all his roommates, the first 2 he had mocked him, and the 2nd one he was cool with, but didn’t understand how that dude managed to get a girl.

Many innovators or will-be greats have and will come from poor households. Being a “high achiever” is often a fluffy and intangible goal when society creates substandard conditions to get anywhere in life. Colleges are debt factories, politicians and corporations are working hard to spread disinformation and kill anything geared towards social progress. What everyone views as an “achievement” is wholly subjective anyways.

Let’s think about this- how many disgruntled, racist, sexist, or entitled people exist in our society, or even in your vicinity on a daily basis? I’m sure quite a lot. Now how many of them seek mass murder as an answer to whatever they believe is a problem? Virtually none.
The issue lies not solely on what “niche” Elliot Rodger fits in, but his mental state. He was severely mentally ill, for much of his life. Judging by the obtuse and infantile way he viewed the world, his mental development and social awareness were severely stunted, and it eventually coalesced into a pure narcissism- in order to give himself a veneer of confidence he never truly had. Everything he did was not to appear “normal” but to be “ideal.” Anyone viewed as potentially better, or unable to trot down to his level of accessibility was seen as a threat to his ego. In contrast, most socially awkward/ high-spectrum autistics are more concerned with fitting in, rather than being better than everyone. His complexes made him seek a misogynistic, genocidal, narcissistic path, and sought outlets to share his warped reality in various social online groups; I saw no evidence that those internet groups were fostering his ideas, only that he was seeking validation through any source, and when confronted with any sort of real advice or opposition, he chose to ignore it in favor of finding validation somewhere else.
What is also conveniently ignored is how his sense of self was tied to his ever-shifting view on racial identity. A view where his mother’s own racial background was seen as inferior, including all other non-white races; and any closeness to “whiteness” was exalted when attributed to him. However, when Caucasians were seen as threatening to his own ego, a man being white was seen as competition, and being of mixed heritage with his issues made him even more confused as to where he fit in society. In his absurd mind, he had a sadly honest viewpoint of how racial hierarchy is perceived society’s subconscious; and without a real sense of self, he used superficialities to govern every aspect of his sad existence.
The second problem lies with the media, and the American sense of identity overall. American society and niche social groups are more focused on creating false ideals and then knee-jerk reactionary “solutions” to problems that haven’t even been fully hashed out yet. Then you have politicians trying to siphon votes from the various groups by getting airtime, all to suit their own agenda. In the end, further destroying any backbone the original arguments had, many of which could have been valid talking points once the dust settled. So eventually all this creates an orgy of ratings-bait “conversations” until the incident is no longer buzzworthy and the media outlets switch to another “unforeseen tragedy.”
“How can we make sure this never happens again?!” is the venting question from most pundits in the event of any calamity. Well the reality is, we can’t. Statistically, living in a society with the freedoms we have, “freedoms” brought on by a need to fit social and capitalistic ideals, we can never prevent incidents like these from occurring. Based on the killer’s lifestyle and background, no one the outside of his very limited social sphere could ever suspect how insane he was, and with the level of personal boundaries we have in a society (especially those with affluence) he was likely to go under the radar. The one factor that could’ve changed all of this were his willfully blind parents; they failed to genuinely nurture him or do real damage control once his mind truly went off the deep end.
Sadly, there is another Eric Harris, Dylan Klebold, Seung-Hui Cho, Adam Lanza, and Elliot Rodger lying in wait; and there isn’t going to be anything the average citizen- or anything short of a police state can do to prevent them from creating another pointless tragedy.
Well I am still reading through this. But it seems like his step-mother was a major issue for him. And yes he was mentally imbalanced. I don’t know when he sees a psychiatrist, but it could be late and it could be that the psychiatrist wasn’t a good one.
So far I’m still in his childhood, he’s up to middle school now, and things aren’t that bad for him. His step-mother is an absolute bitch, and it’s surprising he doesn’t go and just kill her. His father is an utter failure. His mother actually I don’t think was an issue. But I guess I’ll find out more. I should have read this awhile ago I suppose. I find it rather interesting.

Nah, he would have killed someone eventually given his personality and what TheBlackHombre explained. No no you are misreading the data. The data doesn’t say that if you grew up in a single mother household you have for example 80% chance to become something bad X. The data just takes all the people who became something bad X and shows that 80% of them grew up in a single mother household.

Every other day? That’s it? In my hormone driven teenage years, I’d jack off multiple times a day. Hell, I’d masturbate, fuck a girl, and then masturbate again. It’s not like sex stopped my masturbation, it actually only increased it. Then he mentions going without masturbation for 7 days is a big deal. Again at those younger ages, it is indeed a big deal, and I even remember The Damned being in I believe the First Prince of Masturbation tournament, where he very likely lied and cheated to win. Because all men masturbate, at least until they get older, and things diminish, or when they’re really poor, and your sex drive diminishes with that too.

I wonder just how smart this kid actually was. I’m not so smart anymore, age is taking its toll, but I had a pretty high IQ when I was younger and went to gifted schools as a result. This kid keeps insisting he’s really smart, but I think he overestimates himself. I guess that is where the real issue comes from, he believes everyone on their sex claims, puts himself above menial work (a retail job would have helped him tremendously, my first job was at The Gap and I met a lot of girls there myself), and obsesses ridiculously about sex. He even has a friend that is an admitted virgin, if he had more friends he probably would have realized that a lot of young men really do not have sex until they’re older. Awkward young men are kind of the norm. I know countless guys that don’t succeed with the opposite sex well into their 20s, usually not until they get their first job and start interacting through that. Well first real job, retail would have helped him socially but not likely with a female.
He gives up too quickly on stuff. Lifting weights works, but you can’t just quit after 2 weeks. If he lifted for at least 2 months that would have started to really help him too probably. Obviously he has social anxiety, he needed a psychiatrist pretty early on. And for his hobby, he should have stuck with skateboarding. We played fighting games growing up ourselves, and there were lots of people that weren’t good or capped out on potential at a pretty low level. But it didn’t matter, as long as you had fun playing and enjoyed the group you were playing with.
His dad is a dick and an absentee. Also I didn’t think it was legal to just cut off child support, I hear so many stories of men who can’t pay and then get chased around in court for it and forced to pay, but this guy just chose to cut child support off entirely and he just could do so? That’s weird. His step-mom is a total bitch too.
Man these people with their problems. Most of us have dealt with a lot of shitty stuff too, but we all keep going in our lives. These problems though…they’re like…white people problems. Like a drama show on TV. It’s just pretty absurd the problems and the failure, while pretending things are going great.
I still think this guy reminds me of Krang. I guess he will self defeat himself over the PUA stuff too, because this is a drama and that’s what characters do in a drama.
