what I usually do is on my emulator I set up 2player mode, make a save state right when the fight starts, and keep going back to that state every couple of combos or so.

Not only character specific on Quin Mantha, but many are corner only and all that sort of thing. Anything in that video is ā€œpossible.ā€ By that I mean Desk could do it easily, but most of it is impractical, especially when youā€™re playing at lvl 5 or so, where youā€™re easier bread and butter combos net you the same damage. This is especially true for Burning and RX-78 for example.

I mostly test things in 2P versus mode, but you have to be careful and mindful of many things. Itā€™s easy to overlook minor details and such. Like Altronā€™s chain into s.HK whiffing on crouching opponents for example. 2P versus gives me a hell of a time trying to test air-to-air stuff too lolā€¦ Iā€™m just thankful that this game loads very quickly, so comparing damage values isnā€™t that bad.

Iā€™m having a hell of a time trying to download from nico nico douga. Iā€™ve tried a lot of methods that allegedly work, but nothing has succeeded for me yet. =/ Knew I should have grabbed it while it was on youtube.

Saving Hydra for last probably. And he comes from a terrible spin-off Manga that I donā€™t consider to be canon.

I prefer endless duel but this one is pretty decent. Was battle assault for the GBA any good?

EDIT: Had some successful netplay matches with someone very local to me anyways, just to see what it would do. It did desync sometimes but for the most part it was good, not even laggy. I also figured out how to get my stage BGMs and such to play, I donā€™t know why the box was unchecked from the get goā€¦

I kind of feel like executionā€™s a bit tougher when playing on the actual game as opposed to the emulator. Idk, I just have a more successful time doing the Deathscythe air loop and comboing Epyonā€™s kicks on my computer rather than on my PS3.

And I really want to just get the G gundam characters over and done with. I want to do a video on what may be my new main, the Zaku IIS. (I actually beat my high score on Time attack A with Sandrock using Char the other day. Technically Dark is first place, but that doesnā€™t really count.) Those grenades are the stuff of legends.

Just skip to Zaku II-S then imo. No sense trying to rush videos out for other characters when you already know you want to do a different one. :slight_smile:

Very unfortunate news from my lab guys. The jHP>vulcan loop bolt displays in the combo exhibition video seems to be character specific to Quinn Mantha. Sheā€™s the only one tall enough to be scooped up by a quick jumped jHP after Boltā€™s dpHP throw in the corner. I may be wrong though, Iā€™ll keep experimenting.

Iā€™ve found out a bunch of stuff for Bolt, which is going to be my next character, but Iā€™ll hold off for now. Suffice to say I REALLY do not see the hype.

After DP+punch, itā€™s j.LP chained to j.HP. That being said, I think you may still be right.

How did I not notice how amazing Hydraā€™s cr.LK was? crLK(x4)>crHK does a ton of damage on low.

I never really knew that either lol, I donā€™t give Hydra enough attention.

Part of the thing about Bolt is how good hyper armor is in this game. Bolt handles a lot of match-ups rather well, including a lot of high tier characters (Deathscythe, for example). Beyond that he is a force to be reckoned with air-to-air. Heavy Press is pretty gdlk. Graviton Hammer is awesome. His vulcans are actually really good. His unblockable knocks downā€¦ he just has a lot going for him actually, Iā€™m shocked he only has average health though. I took him for a spin yesterday and did pretty well. I donā€™t know any real combos with him or Iā€™d probably play him more. Iā€™ve been really considering picking either him or Tallgeese III up next.

Yeah the moment I figured out how to do the shoulder move I was like ā€œooooohhhhā€¦ā€ His unblockable is also pretty fast for a knockdown move. I just wish he had more cancellable moves though. Finding combos was a little tough this time around.

Another youtube video of me vs the AI. In this video, I made an attempt to employ some slightly higher level strategies I have, so Iā€™ll break a few of them down below w/ timestamps.

0:11 - Beginning of the round. Rose is the scariest char to fight against at the very beginning, as he can easily hit you, confirm into BnB, and set up his ridiculous game from there. If you literally do anything besides block in the beginning, you are getting hit, which I did (lol).
0:15 - I go for an overhead, usually at worst it would trade with Roseā€™s st.LP but still give me the knockdown. The AI actually pulled a perfect sidestep, and punished (not a full punish, but something). I had to throw out something to get myself away from the corner, staying in there too long is a huge risk against Rose.
0:35 - AI pulls another clutch by using cr.LP to lower his hurtbox allowing him to duck under my dash-in st.LP.
0:51-1:03 (a lot happens here) - Youā€™ll notice I throw tenkyoukens constantly. They recover very quickly, and keep Rose away slightly. He eventually sends out funnels which I punish with super. After the super and overheat, I throw a diagonal tenkyouken, just to destroy the funnels. The 2nd one I did was accidental, I wanted to do Darkness Finger, which in that situation would push Rose backwards, allowing me to start throwing fireballs again. He eventually gets hit by a fireball, and due to fast recovery, I am able to hitconfirm into a Super.
1:05 (take notes here) - After landing the hitconfirm into Super, I throw a diagonal fireball, this is a boost recovery lockdown tactic. After he block the fireball, I nick him with an aerial (to prevent from using either another boost, or throwing an attack, such as divekick). Afterwards, I use st.HK. I use this normal in particular because if Rose panicked and used divekick, it would very likely trade in my favor. If he were to get hit by that normal in any way, I could easily hitconfirm into another super.
Rest of the round is kinda derp. Nothing special happens besides me desperately trying to get the Jab infinite.

But yeah, that is how I would attempt to play a round. Gonna try a few other chars now.

I like this format. All of your reasoning is solid. I would have opted against using the super off of the Tenkyoken with Roseā€™s health where it was, but yeah itā€™s a good idea to show that it is possible at that range. The first super was even less necessary probably, but again, I think I understand what youā€™re trying to show. Good shit.
