YGPM buddy!
Hey Gumm, we talked a while back about an LED mod on some clear seimitsus for $40 because I already got a dual mod with you. If a transaction goes with some stuff im selling on trade section then I’m definitely looking to get this done. I’ll keep in touch
Been real busy with the modding lately. Here are some more sticks I’ve modded since after evo.

Hey Gummo, I’m looking at Vicious’ last picture and those detachable cables are pretty small… Is that the default size for those cables? Just wondering…
He requested one 13ft long rj45 cable with a din8 end that all three of those cables could be attached to.
I normally just make separate rj45 cables for the systems. That was a special request as he provided the din8 connectors.
Gummowned,
Gotta say thanks for performing one rather unique mod - dual-modding a Hori Fighting Commander Pro pad and switching the buttons for tournament-quality play. DMG’s pad-playing Fei-Long beast Inthul will be using the pad the week after next at Philly Summer Jam, and I think he will rock with that.
Just wanted to pass on some props from another satisfied customer that asked for a challenging mod, and you got it done.

Thanks Jaleel. I’ll be attending Summer Jam so I’ll definitely get to see him use it in person.
Man that’s pretty smart, I wish I had known about that, cause I would’ve had the same thing done too!
Ohh. I see. Thanks for that clarification!
It really is a brilliant idea. @_@
Yo Gummowned, lets TeamTechTalk Summer Jam!
I think I’ll be going too.
Cool, I don’t think Strogg is going so you can fill in his seat at the table.
I’ve been meaning to do this for about a week now, just been lazy I guess.
For anyone on the fence about having gummowned do a mod for you, just do it. You should have seen the internal state of my stick when I shipped it to him, it was pretty fucked after I tried the dual mod myself. Not only did he fix it up proper for me, but he communicated with me via email through the entire process, hooked me up with a reduced price in exchange for some spare parts, and swapped the stock bezel for a spare white mvc2 bezel he had there. All in all, I received excellent, fast service for a very reasonable price. He is officially my go-to-guy for any future mods.
Gumm, I got my stick back about a week ago, just in time for casuals, and I couldn’t be happier. Everything works fantastic. Thanks again!
Questions
Hi everyone,
As I’m sure you can tell by my non-existent post count, I’m new here. Unfortunately I couldn’t locate Gummowned’s email address, and I’m not permitted to PM him until I have at least 2 posts. As such, I’m posting my questions for him here.
I’m looking to get my first arcade stick and I want to be able to use this one stick on multiple systems. I have no desire to attempt to mod it myself, as I lack both the equipment and skill.
As such, I’m interested in your services, but I have a few questions. First is simply a matter of compatibility. I want to buy the following stick:
Amazon.com: BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Fightstick Tournament Limited Edition: Playstation 3:?
But I need it to be compatible with my PS3, Wii, and Xbox 360. Is this possible? I know this is a stupidly simple question and I’ve read many posts about the Cthulhu, MC Cthulhu, and ChImp PCBs. But simply put, the posts confuse me and I’m not entirely clear on which boards do what.
It’s my understanding that it is somehow easier or cheaper to modify an Xbox 360 stick for these purposes, but I really hate the color scheme on the 360 version of the aforementioned stick (yes, I know that’s really shallow and superficial, but for $200 I’d prefer something that I don’t think is ugly). As I don’t want to have to purchase new parts to “fix” the color scheme, I would greatly prefer to be able to buy the PS3 version of the stick.
My other question is simply, what would this cost me? I know your initial post in your modding services thread states that you charge $80 for PS3->360, including parts. This leads me to believe that it’s fully possible to perform the necessary modifications to the stick in question, but I assume adding Wii compatibility would cost extra.
To simplify, my questions are:
- Can you make the PS3 version of this stick compatible with PS3, 360, AND Wii?
- How much would you charge me to do so?
So please get back to me at your earliest convenience. I’m sure you’re busy, but I do not wish to spend $200 on a stick until my questions are answered.
Thanks in advance!
Overall it’s going to be cheaper to buy a 360 stick plus buttons. On any other stick you’ll have to get a pad hacked 360 controller (meaning buying a wired one, taking it apart, and soldering pins with wiring) so it’ll cost more in labor. Fortunately for you, you can always buy buttons and have it shipped to Gummowned and he’ll replace the buttons for you while he’s in there.
If you want to go Wii also you’ll have to look into doing Toodles Pee Wii board (I think that’s what it’s called) for classic controller function. Or if you just want GC controller, then you can RJ45 mod it, or have a GC controller pad hacked.
But I’m no expert, and I had gummowned do my sticks for me. You’ve come to the right spot though, this man knows his stuff, and not is his work done fast, but it’s done correctly!
I mean how many other modders/stick builders you know can make a lego stick??
Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately it’s not just the buttons that throw me, it’s also the absolutely hideous white “frame” (bezel? what do you call the border of the stick’s casing?). Is there any cheap/easy way to replace that as well? Is that kind of thing within Gummowned’s range of services?
what stick are you looking to purchase? Gummowned pretty much does all the insides of the stick. You can always paint a bezel or even a whole stick. Just look around in the “Tech Talk” section. If money isn’t an issue, you could always purchase a custom stick. Or you could just buy parts to make a custom stick. Or you could just buy a stick shell that doesn’t have a PCB (board), and get that modded the way you want it
The stick in question is the one linked to in my first post:
BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Fightstick Tournament Limited Edition
Money is somewhat an issue, but when I start considering replacement buttons, paint jobs, etc. I feel that I’d be better served just purchasing the PS3 stick and paying the extra for the “pad hacked” 360 controller.
Of course, this is entirely dependent on how much Gummowned charges for that sort of work. There’s also the fact that it might cost me a bit less if I provide my own wired 360 controller, depending on how much I could get a used one for.
The simple truth is, I have more games for PS3, use my PS3 more, and prefer the colors on the PS3 version of the stick. Since I won’t actually be able to afford Gummowned’s services immediately after purchase, it makes more sense for me to buy the PS3 version. My concern is primarily in the difference in cost, but if that difference isn’t too big then it’s an easy decision.
I think I can’t really go any further until I get a response from Gummowned himself though.
(I also feel quite stupid for saying I couldn’t find his email address, as it’s clearly at the bottom of his initial post in this thread.)
Hmm…I’d just buy a regular marvel stick, and get the BBlue artwork made and swap it out. Then all you would have to do is paint the bezel blue. Just my .02 though
The 360 stick is ideally better to get over a ps3 stick when you want it modded for multiple consoles. Madcatz actually sells buttons/joysticks/bezels/and shaft covers now so you could get the 360 version and get replacement parts from madcatz. However, depending on what type of mod set up you would prefer it might not be necessary and getting the ps3 version will be fine.
The main question you want to ask yourself is if you want to play on the Wii via the wiimote or as a gc controller. If you want to go via wiimote then I can just add a 360 pcb, imp, and toodle’s Peewii board ($110 parts included). If you want to go as a gc controller then you have two more options: attached ($125) or detachable cords ($175).
Oh hey Gummowned, got my stick in today. Awesome work, thanks again sir! If I decide on getting another stick, you definitely know I’ll be going through you.
