Finished TheFrza’s stick. Did a Chimp+360 dual mod install into his custom case. Also did an LED mod to the buttons and ball top. The home button lights up blue when playing on ps3 and lights up when playing on 360.
I gotta say that Elis’s cases are solidly constructed! I am VERY satisfied with the build and construction of my case. If anyone wants to feel how his cases are and you live in the NYC/NJ area, feel free to PM me.
Hey Gum I was wondering if you were ever going to use Paewang PCBs for your modding service. Since it requires only the one PCB itself instead of a Chimp+360 pad for a 360/PS3 compatible stick and its makes for very roomy space. If not would I be able to order one and have it sent to you and send my stick so you can put it together? I just have no experience with soldering and dont wanna mess things up.
edit: one more thing. Is there any way for you to add a headset jack port?
I won’t be stocking Paewang PCBs, but if someone wants it used in their stick then they can supply the pcb and I’ll do the install for $50.
I can only add a headset jack port if the 360 pcb in the mod has the headset capability already like the madcatz pads do. Paewang PCBs dont.
I’ll be out of state this weekend. I’ll be going to New York for the NYC Road to Evo 2 tourny. I’ll try to answer any pm’s and emails as best I can. I do have some good news for when I get back for people who would like to save some $$ on shipping costs. I’m going to start offering a service to have people just ship the stick’s pcb and I’ll wire it all up so all you have to do is replug it back in the stick. I’ll first start with just 360 TE -> PS3 since it will be the easiest to put back in the stick. I’ll have to ask you guy’s for your opinion on how to hook back up the USB wires. I’m thinking either with a terminal screw strip or with wire-nuts (they are caps that twist onto the wires). I’ll provide more details next week. I’ll still provide full install services so don’t worry.
Thanks for your awesome work, dude. This guy’s a real pro. Fast doesn’t describe it. The pad was waiting for me the DAY I got back and it’s top notch. I’m on gamespot as Uesugi-dono and I’ve put up a blog recommending you and your work to everyone I know. Hopefully I can steer some business your way.
Finished Acidraine’s and Oli 00’s sticks last week before I left to NY for the weekend. Wasn’t able to post pics then because photobucket was giving me troubles.
A better 4066 chip is used so no more issues of people having problems of the auto detect not workin will be gone. Also the trigger inversion is improved.
The smd version has a square pcb size. Surface area is the roughly the same. No more holes to where you can solder at to piggy back so you have to use the screw terminals. The screw terminals are smaller so it gives a better hold on smaller wires. Theres screw terminals for both main usb wires going to the chimp and from chimp to 360. And screw terminals for the trigger inversion. They will all be preassembled.
Toodles is still working on pricing. You’re experienced with SMDs, so do you think it’s gonna be cheaper or more expensive than the current version? I’m guessing more expensive, because it’s assembled, but the SMD cost might offset that a little? What do you think?
Also, can I buy some arc-eye’s from you? (assembled or unassembled) And do you have any of the clear plungers?
And finally… do you wanna trade a ChImp for an Imp + MC Cthulhu (your chimp, my MC+Imp)
