My shit was terrible that day, not to say that it was good then (or now) anyways. It’s gotten better, but it still has things to get better at too.

EDIT: Who the hell was Stubbles? If it was one of the few first-tourney not-serious Ky players that were there, then I think I know who you’re talking about. I’d much rather forget all that shit anyways.

Well, Im a douchebag and the tournament was yesterday. The results were all posted all up on the machines today. When I saw the poster the other day I though it said 10-13, but I guess it was 10-12. Well, sorry. In general, today wasnt a very good for comp. There were a lot of people there, but I was getting 15+ win streaks against multiple opponents tonight and I didnt even lose to the Kys.

Dizzy lost the ability to cancel sweep into special. That kind of blows. Other than that she seems pretty much the same. d.HS now bounces the shit out of your opponent on counterhit. The same thing goes for Slayers j.HS counter hit on grounded opponent. I guess its meant to encourage air combos. Bubble seems to sink faster and the new “axe” really helps her long range pressure game.

Whats new with Pot? Someone posted this I think, but f.K and f.P are jump-cancelable. f.K into Pot Buster is not possible, but you can still cancel it into any special. Flick will combo and I spaced out on slide head, but I think its a guarenteed knockdown. I messed around with Judge Gauntlet (Pots new move) a little more today, too. Its decent. It does a fair amount of damage, it does have unlimited super armor and damage is reduced quite a bit. You can cancel into it from any normal (I think) and when you play against a counter-happy Baiken player you can fuck them up.

Either A.B.A sucks or no one knows how to play her. I havent had any trouble beating any A.B.A players at all. I dont even think Ive lost a round to one and Ive played maybe 6 different guys.

Characters that NO-ONE plays. Johnny, Jam, Robo-Ky, Potemkin, Dizzy, May, Testament, Faust and Millia. I played against one Johnny, but he was more of a “I suck with everybody” type of guy, so that doesnt count. Ive seen one Robo-Ky, but he got beat by the computer on the 3rd stage or so. And like I said the other day, one Faust and he was an annoying prick. Absolutely NO Jam, Dizzy, May, Testament or Millia players.

I play Faust, He’s been upgraded from ggxx#r. Specifically his object throws. He can throw little potemkins or robo-ky or fausts. Potemkin will take a hit and come back(it looks like he jumps up hurt, and starts walking when he hits the ground, don’t know about hit stun though)sometimes 3 hits. Mini-R.Ky is sick because he does his broom stick ride thing…where he flies on his sword, and it’s really fast. Buddy did the object throw super, and he got one of each(FWI mini-faust is the same…he crawls), potemkin was the slowest, then faust, then robo-ky being fastest. Sometimes potemkin would land closest to the opponent and shield robo-ky’s attack…I think potemkin has a bigger frame.
He’s pretty much the same from #r though, except that his ducking kick(3 hit) isn’t jump-cancelable(i could be wrong).
Johnny has ill combos now, but i wasn’t paying attention to them…i just know that it involved multiple flame jump thingys then frc…o yah, you hit em out of the air with the new move, frc, kick, hs, JC, fire jump thingy, frc, j.dust, land, kick, new move, repeat…I think. CMIIW
order sol has set-ups with l.3 fireball…cause it becomes like mega mans charge fireball. dust after every special is cool for canceling…specially l.3s! his pseudo ground viper will cross up jumper s everytime if at l.3

Calcal; how this works is actually the move itself. That video shows you 3 different versions of the same super;

1st time he messes up the move, causing DI recovery animation.

2nd time he completes the move perfectly

3rd time he completes the move perfectly, but it causes the opponent’s death; hence the IK ender. It’s not an actual IK otherwise!

So technically HOS doesnt have an instant kill?

He does, its just that when ever the opponent is about to die or is dead then the IK for HOS’s DI comes out.

Tho, my question is (I’ve asked at dustloop.com, I think) that does HOS’s IK come out when your ABOUT to die or when your life is already at 0?

XX/ n00b Question:

What does he do differently the second time that allows him to avoid the DI recovery animation? Obviously he got the extra hits at the end, but what was that from? I watched the video a few times, but whatever he did, I wasn’t picking up on it.

It’s a sequential super, sort of like Athena in KOF.

it’s when your life hits 0 then he does the IK at the end of the combo automatically. also in order for him to go into that chain combo to IK he has to land that hit where he activates DI and it requires lvl3 and full tension. it has no start up invincibility so it’s not gonna be practical.

Perhaps the whole, ending with the IK at the end of the chain combo, is actually a nod to how you could combo into your IK back in GG. Or it could just be me acting stupid again. :3

It’s not technically a IK, really. It is just presented as IK to make the overdrive look more dramatic.

It would be horrible if you can combo into a IK.

Don’t mean to sound like a dick, but I think it was really fuckin’ obvious that in order to do the move and you need to be lvl 3 and need full tension. I mean, he was charging up and running around for reason…

But yeah, I was wondering if the IK animation comes out if the life is near death or at 0. Thanks for the answer.

Meh, it looks like one and I may believe that is one. Tight overdrive though, kinda reminds me of Hibiki’s(Last Blade) Going My Way roots from CvS2.
