Is there anything I should know about the charges in this game? I’m a charge character player in Capcom games (Blanka ST, Remy 3S, Guile/Blanka AE, Charlie A2) but I feel like I can’t consistently get my balls to come out (LOL) with Venom.

Charge time is 45 frames for horizontal shot, 40 for off the ground shots

Hmm… That’s faster than SF charges, I think… 55 in SF4 I think is Guile and Blanka… 54 is definitely Blanka’s charge time in Super Turbo…

Is there less leniency on hitting incorrect inputs?

E.g. if I charge 4 and hit 3 on my way to 6, will it not work?

You can charge 4 and end with 3 and it will come out. Charge 4 and doing 1236/HCF will still make it come out.
Since hitting a 3 after a 66 for a dash doesn’t make you stop, you can do running 2~8s too.

Time to hit training mode.

Learn my favorite and easy throw combo.

Grab>dashing 6P>6H>S Set>6H>K set>P set. The 6H whiffs the s set and you cancel both of the 6H’s into a set. Then they’re knocked down and ready to be forced to block a SKP formation. You can also set a D ball and have the 2nd 6H whiff it. Something like a DPK set will let you do a j.K and then airdash to them while they’re forced to block.

Of course, I don’t play Venom so I could be saying retarded shit.

Mine is like this if mid screen. Corner’s a bit different…

grab, dash, 6P>6H>D set > 6H > K DC (the RDP+K formation) > P set, teleport P > K, dash up 5S and either jump cancel into his arial qcf+D or S or whiff the arial QCF+S and do a sweep xx RDP K formation.

It’s why I love Venom. He keeps pressure on while rushing down and having a trap set up at the same time.
Thanks for the tips. Now if I can get his charge and his FRC from his charge… I’ll be in good shape. Spent 20 minutes on that FRC and couldn’t get it… :frowning:

Do I have to TK Chemical Love to do HCL 6FRC6 off the ground? If I jump first, then do HCL 6FRC6 I get the dash, but I can never get it to work from the ground.

You have to jump install it. 6321469 (or just a full circle 632147896). It puts you in the air, but you don’t have any air options unless it’s the air version or jump installed.

One nice thing about Venom… I don’t really need Jump Install… :slight_smile:

Fausts drill cancels look so stupidly entertaining though. And AC 2D gatling to 2S and 5K is lol.

Slayer gets a little bit of use out of JI, but nothing note worthy. 2D RC>5H>j.H>j.K>land>5H>sj.H-2K>j.K>j.S(1)-2K>j.K-2K>j.D on like…Potemking in the corner.
