Guilty Gear XX Accent Core PLUS R: New update for GGXX! coming to Arcade, PSN, XBLA and now Vita!

I’m confused. So if the netcode is the same, what’s causing it to lag? Is it noticeable input lag or something? Or something else?

That you don’t have 4 frames buffer for your inputs for starters

this. people really underestimate how much advance input helped blazblue/p4a netplay

ASW netcode is always kind fucked up for me anyway. P4A always giving me two bars whether you live 30 miles away or 1000. Okay.

But would that actually cause lag? Or only stricter timing?

There is always lag, always, the difference here is that is more noticeable because the game doesn’t fool you with a huge buffer window

I bet America’s getting the PS3 version in December. xP

Not to sound self-entitled, but I would rage pretty hard. I’ve been waiting for this for much too long.

Noob question: If I buy the JPN version, do I have to use my JPN account for online? I’ve never bothered with it except to download demos earlier.

Well I wouldn’t blame you. I bought the JP version so I wouldn’t get dicked around the whole time and now I’m just getting my ass kicked by most of the people I run into.

To answer your question: It doesn’t matter which account you play on as long as you don’t delete the JP account.

TTT2 uses the same buffer as SCV online, which is like 50 frames or something ridiculous apparently. Actually, could be 30… its lenient anyway, plus the game is just WAY slower in general when compared to GG.

GG I assume has no buffer built in, nor the repeat for (5/7?) frames on button hold type buffer newer ArcSys games have.

Tekken/Soul Calibur buffers in past games have been a little more complicated than that, but yeah I believe in general it’s around 30f.

netcode for Arcana Heart 3 decent/better than GG?

Arcana Heart 3 has a huge buffer pretty much like BB and P4A, not to mention that is way slower
All the games developed by ASW for this generation (Minus Battle Fantasia) use the same netcode.

Yeah I figured that was one of the reasons.

The simple truth is that GGAC is a game that wasn’t designed to be played online.
Which brings the fear that the next iteration of the game would have drastic changes that probably would enrage a lot of Old players :looney: :shake:

While I think the netcode is more or less the same and it does have a pretty big buffer that helps with netplay, I’m pretty sure AH3 attacks and movement are actually quite a bit faster in most cases than all modern arcsys games including GG. I’m sure you’ve played these games a lot and know a lot about them, so I may be wrong.

The netcode for matches honestly feels fine. Its just the damn custom search feature on PSN that doesnt work at all… if they fix that then everything is cool

True dat. Don’t know why people are going about saying the netcoding isn’t as good as x game when it’s the same shit as blazblue, persona, and arcana.

The features are busted, even on Live.
Sometimes I can’t find anyone, and I filter “area only”, I find at least 5 people… wtf?!
Not to mention random things like turning on “only fast connections” to connect to your lobby yet 0’s come in all the time.

The filter commands are busted, no doubt needs a patch. Not to mention the match making is really poor, which makes the game seem dead however the servers always appear active. WTF x 2?

Yeah, it’s like Network mode was totally an afterthought. Everything else is fine (because most of it is from the PS2 release), but they barely put any effort into Network mode. Network menu UI is ass, matchmaking is ass, filtering system quite simply doesn’t work half the time. You can only see connection speeds if you’re trying to join a room, but not when you’re hosting. Communication failures happen at random, for no apparent reason…

As for netcode, yeah it’s pretty much the same shit used in BlazBlue and Persona 4 Arena, only difference being that input delay is MUCH MORE NOTICEABLE in Guilty Gear. Sorry, no generous 5-frame buffer in this game. Other than that, it’s…playable for the most part. No trouble hitting FRCs and performing tricky combos on a decent to good connection.
